First and only bad experience at a Chick-fil-A. Ordered the12 piece grilled nuggets and after waiting for several minutes, the shift supervisor politely informed it would be 4 minutes longer for the grilled nuggets adding that I will be assured they will be fresh. I continued to wait and observed there were two 8-count boxes of grilled nuggets in the warming area. As I observed this I wondered why they didn't make the 12 count order from these two boxes so I didn't have to wait so long for the order. However, I thought oh well when I get my order I know they will be hot and fresh as the supervisor had stated. After waiting six more minutes, I saw the cook staff member pull one of the 8-count boxes that had been in the warming area the whole time and then place a 12-count container in the slot. Clearly, my order was 8 grilled nuggets from the box that had been sitting in the warming area the entire time and was not a "fresh" order even after I had been waiting 9 minutes. The supervisor placed the container in a bag and handed it to me advising she included a chocolate chip cookie in my order for the delay on my order. I advised her I did not want the cookie (this is due to a gluten intolerance which is why I ordered grilled nuggets in the first place). I also questioned her about my order containing nuggets that had been in the box sitting rather than freshly made as she had previously stated. She replied they could take the temp in front of me which was irrelevant to me as the issue is I had to wait nearly 10 minutes and the order wasn't fresh. The use of nuggets previously packaged in 8-count boxes could have been done at the time I placed the order and prevented any wait/delay. I requested a refund which was promptly given. I since learned from a friend that Chick-Fil-A typically offers a gift card which is good for one free item at a future visit when an order is delayed such as mine. If this is a company policy/protocol why was I only offered a cookie, especially given I didn't order an item that contains gluten? Will avoid this location and go elsewhere. read more

Please come to Hawai'i. Each time I have visited this place on vacation it never disappoints. I have tried different locations in different states and always a great experience. Not only is their chicken so darn perfect, juicy and crispy, The customer service is always excellent. Friendly happy bubbly workers all the time just chomping at the bit to help you order off the menu. The food is so delicious and satisfying that honestly I think they could be rude and it wouldn't phase me LOL. If I had any thing to critique I would say the Hawaiian dipping sauce is horrible. I'm not sure what they were thinking with that one. There's nothing Hawaiian about it lol. It doesn't taste good at all. It actually ruins the chicken that you dipped in it. I know a lot of people love this place, stopped by for a chat with the cow, and the registers humming, staff learning and running around. Ordered a #2. Given a #4. My friend ordered a #1, got... not sure, but it was grilled, not fried. Ah, well. Chicken was still good, and waffle fries were good. Just not what I ordered. Ah, well. BBQ was good and standard. Honey BBQ - a little too sweet for my taste, more honey than BBQ. And the chicken noodle soup - a good touch for a cold day. I guess I was supposed to ask for sauce, but I didn't realize. It didn't matter. This was chicken sandwich nirvana! This was: more than the sum of its parts. It didn't even need sauce. The chicken was so flavorful, the pickles were the counterpoint, and the slightly sweet and squishy bun the perfect cradle for all this deliciousness. I ate the whole damn thing and didn't even regret it. I could take or leave my daughter's waffle fries (although she gave two thumbs up to the nuggets). I've had Chick-fil-A plenty of times before, but finally got around to eating it in JC. I usually get their chicken nuggets with a side of waffle fries. This time I decided to try their spicy chicken deluxe. It was not that spicy, but I love the crispy skin and pickles. The tomatoes are bit wilted. Go for the spicy chicken deluxe over the regular chicken deluxe. For the fries, you can ask for all their sauces. My favorites are the Polynesian, buffalo sauce, and spicy Sriracha. Since you are in a food court, you don't get the full Southern hospitality experience as you would in a building location. In those locations, I feel like the staff is more friendly. A person would actually come and ask you how everything is and if we need anything else so the service almost didn't feel like that of a fast food restaurant. Almost, but not quite. I was extremely excited to attend the grand opening of Chick-Fil-A at Newport Mall - the line was so long during lunch. I stopped by for lunch yesterday and saw the sign on the counter stating, "GRAND OPENING WED. NOV. 11th. I thought to myself, I will be back tomorrow! Three things - 1. I was particularly impressed at how the Chick-fil-A Corporate team and new franchise owner handled the crowd. The employees were walking and interacting with customers to take their orders (wrote the orders on a piece of paper -- old fashioned way works too) to expedite the process. Talk about efficient operation management! 2. The Grand Opening team actually flew in from the Corporate office in Atlanta to prepare three weeks before grand opening day (which is today). Talk about ensuring a successful launch! 3. The CFA burger, waffle fries and chocolate chip cookies were so tasty! Waffle fries were not too oily or deeply fried. I rarely eat lunch at the mall during a work day but I was curious about the level of interactions the employees had with the customers. The CFA Corporate team sat at a nearby table - I think they too were making observations on the operations. Furthermore, I came back after work to grab dinner to go! I have always loved Chick-fil-A but, this location is definitely my favorite! The options on the menu are endless, you can go for a cheat meal or even something a little healthier! I went during the lunch rush and there was a very very long line. But, the staff was super efficient and the line moved so fast! You got to order while waiting on line and went up and paid. We were in and out within 15 minutes, probably less than that. The staff also comes around and asks if you want more sauce or anything else with your meal if you sit in the food court and eat. I love Chick Fila and I've probably visited this particular Chick Fila about 40-50 times since they open. I've concluded this is the most inconsistent and poorly managed chick fila I've eaten at. I wish there was another location that's within a reasonable distance. They usually forget at least 1 item from my order. Their chicken strips are good about half the time and the other half they're dry and undersized. Chicken in the sandwich ranges from what the hell small to normal. I just never know what I'm going to get from this Chick Fila. I get emails from their general manager about promotions but I've never actually seen him at this location on any of my visits. It's so exciting that Chick-fil-A is finally in our area!! I first fell in love with it's Midwest & Southern locations many years ago and because of that it has always been one of the few fast food chains that I make it a point to go to when I travel. Well now JC has it's own! The Spicy Chicken sandwich (deluxe- topped with pepper jack, lettuce & tomato) is my favorite item to get!! Although I must say that on my first visit here, it either wasn't spicy enough or they gave me their regular chicken accidentally. Get the combo for their yummy semi-soft/semi-crispy waffle fries and a drink. They were so kind as to make me an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade/half iced tea- sweetened or not) upon request and it's the perfect southern thirst quencher! I also love their nuggets and grilled chicken! Looking forward to going back and trying their salads.
