I've had Bambu at Parx Casino a few times and tried various dishes and have been thoroughly disappointed EVERY time. I have never had such bad Asian food. Not only was the food bad, the service was even worst. The servers take forever to serve you even when there is barely any tables in the restaurant. Not sure if Parx management is just not paying and training the staffs enough or what, it's just a terrible establishments all around. if I could give a lower star, I would. My friend and I came here Saturday night after a night of gambling--we came pretty late so the place was fairly empty and were seated right away. We ordered a few things: pork & shrimp wonton noodle soup, salt and pepper jumbo shrimp, beef tenderloin, and garlic sauteed broccoli. The food here is very bland--the soup broth lacked flavor and the shrimp should have been more salty. The garlic sauteed veggie was bland; also, it wasn't cooked enough--the stem parts were too hard, so I had to ask the server to take it back and have them cook it more. The beef dish was okay. The portions are small for the amount of money you pay--it's overpriced here. Overall, I was pretty disappointed with the food. read more

They don't accept take out orders about 75% of the time but it's impossible to know when because they never answer the phone. I got takeout here at 2am. So awesome i could get chinese good so late. I got fried pork dumplings, spareribs, japanese raman soup, and szechuan pork and tofu. Everything was delicious. The spareribs were meaty and the sauce was very flavorful. The pork fried dumplings tasted homemade and the dumpling sauce was thick and not thin which I liked. The Japanese raman had lots of noodles, slices of pork, bamboo shoots, 2 eggs (i asked for extra one), and green onions. The broth tasted delicious and when you taste everything together it taste amazing. Finally the szechuan pork and tofu had shredded pork, peppers, onions and tofu in it. It wasn't overly spicy though. Pricing wise yes it is expensive since your in a casino. But if your looking for good chinese food thats open late and dont feel like driving down to chinatown then this is the place to go. read more

My wife and I eat out often. So while at Parx we decided to try the Bambu House. We had the potstickers appetizer which was very good. The entree of Ginger Shrimp with vegetables and an oyster sauce looked and sounded great but was a MAJOR disappointment when we started eating. The shrimp were completely tasteless ( we think they were boiled). The bok choy was not edible because the stems were raw and hard and the leaves were very bitter. The pea pods were also raw. The oyster sauce was thick and tasteless . The white sticky rice that came with the dish had 0 seasoning and tasted very old. The entree as a whole, was raw, tasteless and not edible. A rating of 3 is very generous. When you look at this place on Parx's site, they mention a chef, and do their best to make it sound like this place is legit. Well, let me be the first to tell you...it's not. Most of the non-positive reviews are on-point. The food was bland. Had an assortment of items and everything was just "eh." I actually said to my wife that the food tasted similar to the Asian takeout place where we live. Only eat here if you're really dying for the cuisine or if there's nowhere else to go in the casino. Do not go out of your way. Giving it a 3, like I said above, is way more than fair. Bambu, you need to do better. read more

I was in here two hours ago and order the roasted duck noodle soup and a yuengling larger. The meal was good but right after I finished my stomach was getting upset so I left. Half hour after I get home my stomach is even more upset and now I'm in pain. I go outside for some fresh air and start puking my brains out. I haven't thrown up in years and if I ever get sick it's a runny nose. This was something out of the exorcist movie, I was throwing up like the devil was coming out of me. I've been outside now three times to puke. I had some oatmeal early this morning and an apple around noon. Didn't drink or eat anything else up until this meal. Bad customer service. Waiting about 20 mins to be acknowledged, another 15 to be seated, and the staff kept trying to get me to sit at the bar so they didn't have to clean one of many open tables. This was around midnight, so it wasn't super crowded. It also took about 20-40 mins to get the check after eating. However, the real problem was the food. My boyfriends food came out with a DEAD FLY on it. When he points this out, the waitress just groans and says she will bring another. Then they still charge us for this dish!! Got to be honest, I was a little worried about Bambu Noodle House by many of the reviews here on Yelp so I must post a different perspective. We went there last night with a party of 14! Now, they don't take reservations so we were a little nervous but pleasantly surprised how they were very accommodating by moving tables and chairs together to have us all sit together. The drinks came out a little slow but heck, there's 14 of us. We all had different dishes from pho to pad thai. I had the beef chow fun. It was outstanding. A great place to eat !! Me and my friends always go to Parx casino for fun and every time we must go Bambu noodle bar for dinner. They always provide good food and nice service!This time they did it again!!! Last Saturday night we had dinner at Bambu house on July 15th, we ordered: wonton noodle soup, and vegetable spring rolls. the wonton and the egg noodle cooked perfect! It tastes so good! the vegetable spring roll was very crispy and tasty too. On main dishes we ordered : steamed whole fish of striped bass , Chinese spinach, and house special fried rice, all of those dishes were very delicious! We definitely will come back very soon again! The food is actually decent, but the prices are doubled what you would normally find in any chinatown restaurant. The portions are small too. There was a lady sitting at a nearby table demanding for more noodle for her noodle soup. The restaurant tries to be fancy with nice decor and using big ass plates, but come on, it's right next to the food court! If the intent is to be like Iron Chef quality, then separate from food court to another location in the casino. I went there the first day they opened. Food was good. The waiting for the food was long but worth it. I went there last night and it was a great disappointment. The shrimp dumpling @ $8.95 , only 3 !, and small, the wonton shrimp noodle soup, was like drinking hotwater with some seasoning and the wonton were not good. Noodles didnt taste fresh. The duck ...and the rice was definitely from the day before. I am very familiar with asian food, and I wouldnt mind paying what they charge if food was edible. We went on a Saturday night. They were not busy at all. It took an unusually long time for them to take our drink order. The prices are a bit expensive but I wouldn't mind paying that much if the food was actually worth it. I ordered clams in black bean sauce. The menu did not indicate that this was a spicy dish. It had jalapeños in it and was very spicy. We did let them know about this. We tried it but I have to say we probably won't be back. read more
