Place One Restaurant has Exceptional food and a great ambience. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the quality is consistent across the menu. We love their moo shu vegetable dish. It comes with four pancakes. We also love their Mai fun noodles. The dining area is clean, bright, and thoughtfully set, creating a welcoming and refined experience. White table cloths cover every table. This is our family's favorite Chinese restaurant. A true standout in the area. Thank you for being so great!! Amy Fanning and Family. read more

In my humble opinion, the best Chinese food in the Bensalem area. The wontons are nice and plump and juicy and fried shrimp comes with a lot of shrimp. Very tasty. read more

CHECK YOUR CARD STATEMENTS FOR OVERCHARGING AND SAVE RECEIPTS IF YOU DINE IN. I have been dining in here for a few months, ordering the same $12.50 lunch meal and leaving a 20% tip ($2.50) for a $15.00 lunch total. The most recent trip, a server I haven't normally had told me that the card I normally use would now get a surcharge and that I should use a different card instead. I used this other card, only to find on my account statement that the card been charged $37.50 for the whole meal, meaning they charged me with a $25 tip. You could claim that you misread $2.50 for the tip as $25, but no one misreads writing $15 for the total as writing $37.50 for the total. I had to dispute this charge with my bank and provided my receipt (which says $15.00) to get refunded. I should have been suspicious when this server told me to use a different credit card for the charge. I will not eat here again. read more

NEVER AGAIN!!! They claim Thai food and chinese food so I ordered Thai dishes. They do not know how to make Thai food or the deliberately prepared bad food for me. I odered green curry with chicken. There was no curry! Tasted as if they used only salt! Disgusting food. If I wasnt so tired from traveling all day and only a few hours sleep, I would have returned it. They do not know how to make Thai food!!! They smiled in my face saying green curry was a good choice. What I was given was a white liquid with peppers and eggplant slices and some boiled sliced chicken seasoned with lots of salt! Shame on you for giving that to me. May you be cursed with no customers for years! read more

Place One is an adorable BYOB with a variety of Chinese and Thai cuisine on their menu. Food was all great and service was excellent!! I opted for Chinese and was very pleased with my meal. I had chicken with garlic sauce combination platter which comes with fried rice, an egg roll and wonton soup. The soup was really good! Wonton noodle was light and thin, which I love! The broth was perfect! I was happy with all of it and will definitely be back! read more

Place One Restaurant - C5. Chicken with Garlic Sauce - Thai Near Me - Bensalem, Pennsylvania

Been going to this place for almost 20 years. The past few times have been terrible. My food has been burnt and just not delivered in a way that had come to be my expectation. I don't like to send things back or make a fuss but I feel like I need to end my business at this point. They were consistent for so long. Oh well. read more

I have traveled all over the world and I am Asian. Google ratings are deceiving. My sister chose this place based on Google rating, I am highly disappointed in her, because yelp ratings were lower and actual food tasted like low budget movie film. The Google ratings must be rated by uncultured inexperienced people who never travel or have low standards for taste buds. If Dave Ramey ever tasted this place he would permanently close his restaurant to re-establish Chinese cuisine in this area. Customer service was the best. People are responded well when we wanted to return the items from the menu or we told them that food item tasted terrible. read more

I was walking out of the pet store, and the place smelled good. I went in and ordered bourbon chicken. I got home to eat, and bit into this. I eat here pretty often, and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious.

Atmosphere is really nice and relaxing and also is very spacious. The decor was classy and tastefully done. It was fancy but not too fancy. With no reservations my friend Mary and I sat pretty quickly, were given an adequate time to think about what we wanted to order and then received the food promptly. I ordered the scallion pancakes which tasted like the dough was too tough or old before it was cooked but in a weird way it was still good. My friend ordered the steamed vegetable dumplings which were a bit too thick with the dough for my taste but the filling was good. For my entree i ordered steamed vegetables with garlic sauce and rice. I thought that was cooked very well, steamed but not too soggy and the rice was done well too. After dinner we got some orange slices and fortune cookies which was a nice way to end the dinner. Id defiantly come back here, the portions are so large that I also have enough for lunch tomorrow. read more

Very nice Chinese/ Vietnamese restaurant to stop by. They have so many options to choose from you'll need a minuet to look over the menu. Portions here are huge and you can order a greedy meal with soup, entree, and eggroll. The place was fairly busy when I came in but not packed. It's perfect to stop in after going to the movie theater next door. Service was great. Our waitress stopped by regular to make sure we were doing good. read more

Our daughter came home with Chicken Fried Rice from here as she worked at a nearby store in the shopping center. The rice as delicious! Since I work In Bensalem I have gotten take out here several times and eaten in as well before the virus. The Egg Foo Young is spot on traditional. Very good combo platters with an egg roll, won ton soup and fried rice. Last night I ordered for the family and swung by on my way home. This is during the epidemic so there was no dining. However at 5:45 the place was jumping with take out orders. The place is very clean. The family are pleasant and the food is delicious. We ordered beef and chicken satay which was good. Pad Tai was wonderful. Lo Mein Was spot on. Beef with mushrooms was tender and flavorful. Since our go to Chinese Restaurant is closed due to COVD-19 One Place has filled the gap. Thanks! read more

Takeout: Prior to moving to the area and trying Place One, I found most Chinese takeout places to be relatively the same. But Place One is a notch above most. Their ingredients--particularly veggies--tend to be fresher, crispier. And they're more generous with meat portions. Extra credit for their healthy, lighter, steamed menu options and willingness to accommodate other healthy eating preferences (e.g., all sauce on side) Dine-in: Service is friendly and moves pretty fast. And food is even fresher and servings seem even more abundant. Options: I tend to stay on the Chinese side of the menu and am never disappointed. When I dabbled in their Thai, it was solid enough but options and appearance just weren't quite as eye-popping as other places fully focused on Thai. read more

We were an hour early before our movie show time so my boyfriend decided to eat dinner to pass the minutes away. We glimpse through the menu and its just like a basic Chinese take out, so we weren't really looking to be blown away or anything. We also didn't know what to order since we always opt to try something new. So we ask the owner what's good and different and she gave us a few Thai suggestions. I ended up ordering the shrimp with curry and bf had the beef curry and donut rolls to start us off. Donut rolls was delicious! It came with a Thai sauce and it just made the perfect balance! Shrimp curry was "ehhhh". I was disappointed it didn't really had any Thai kick like she mentioned. It's pretty much was stir fried with bamboo and mushroom, more of a Chinese flare then anything Beef curry was THE BOMB! Sweet... spicy... and so colorful. The presentation just drew me in Over all it's definitely worth a try. read more

Place THIS One on the top of your priority list if you love Thai & Chinese Food!!! It seems like they make everything from scratch here and from quality ingredients! The complimentary fried wonton strips and homemade duck sauce is just a teaser of what's to come! I've been here twice and will return many times in the future I'm sure. Both times we ordered several items from the menu and every single dish was exceptional! I'm a huge fan of Pad Thai and this is some of the best I've had (and for a fraction of the price you'll find elsewhere)! I usually order a side of chili, also homemade and dangerously HOT, so that I can kick up the spice to exactly my preference. I stumbled upon this gem while waiting for a movie (they also sell discounted movie tickets here). My boyfriend and I were both hungry and we had almost an hour to spare. The outside of the place could use a little help. The sign was unimpressive and the haphazard blinds in the window looked like they were from the 70's. After some discussion, we decided to brave it and ventured inside....and it was beautiful! The decor is very elegant and lends a high class atmosphere. The ice water is served in wine glasses and each table has artfully folded napkins awaiting your arrival. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. It's a real shame that people don't know about how great this place is. Both times we were here, we were the only patrons. Perhaps it's because there are a couple of big Chinese buffets nearby, but for me, I'd rather quality over quantity any day! Speaking of quantity, the portion sizes here are very generous! Both times we stuffed ourselves silly and still brought home a ton of leftovers. The first time we went, it was lunch time and the bill only came to about $12. The second time, which was last night, our bill was only $24, not bad for an appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 Thai ice teas. I really don't want to see this place go out of business! We think it may have changed ownership since the last reviews. I've been to countless Chinese/Thai restaurants in my life and I'm not one to rave. Definitely check this place out!!! OH and it's a BYOB! read more

Place One Restaurant - Thai Near Me - Bensalem, Pennsylvania

I was in the mood for Thai, but it seems every other Thai place east of the boulevard is closed on Mondays. This place is open, which I give them credit for, since I'm sure it's tempting to close like every other restaurant. The interior is s typical suburban Chinese restaurant vibe, mostly maroon in color with some booths scattered about. I, however, was getting take out so I didn't really absorb any ambiance to be had. I got Penang curry. It was good, but nowhere near the best I've had. My boyfriend got the ginger chicken, which was also good but not amazing. The thing that really kills this place for me is the price. 25 bucks for takeout, and only two entrees at that? We can do better than that, as there's a million Chinese and Thai places with better prices. Alright place food-wise, and about what you'd expect for a restaurant of this caliber, however the prices make me hesitant to go back. read more

Place One on Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA, is one of those "fusion" houses, offering their take on Chinese and Thai cuisine. I love both styles of cooking, but seldom find them in the same place. Most are in reality operated by Chinese trying to broaden their appeal by imitating their neighbors in South East Asia. Usually, these efforts fail due to the inability to deeply understand the roots of the secondary culture, or the unwillingness to stock the kitchen with the expensive spices required to do the dishes right. The result is more often confusion, than fusion. So it is with Place One. One look around the semi-crowded dining room was a hint to what was to come. The only Chinese, let alone Asian customers, were at our table. We were looking for quality Chinese food that would save us the trip to Philly, and were willing to explore something off the Thai menu. There were plenty of options on the list, all somewhat descriptive; with little red peppers indicating what was spicy. We ordered an app of Thai calamari with dipping sauce, and entrees of their Double Wonder (beef & chicken in the chef's special sauce), Pineapple Shrimp Curry, and Coconut Shrimp Special. The first and third dishes had those little red peppers or the word, "spicy" attached to them. The calamari wasn't bad. Tender chunks of squid, a bit too heavily breaded, and deep fried. Decent dipping sauce. No real complaints. It was downhill from there. The Double Wonder had a meager amount of beef sliced small, and more chicken, in a mildly spicy brown sauce. Green and red pepper slices, good variety of mushrooms, but not enough flavor, and certainly not a wonder. Still, it was the best of the three. The coconut shrimp had about a half dozen large shrimp, the same green and red peppers, pineapple chunks and not the faintest taste of coconut. It was just uber sweet, with hints of mango and pineapple. Can't believe they used canned pineapple on a white board special. How hard is it to buy and cut up a few real ones? The word, "spicy" was next to the name of the dish, yet there was nothing hot about it. No sign of chili pepper. It was just unabashedly sugary. Finally, the pineapple shrimp curry was a Thai noodle dish. It was awful. The noodles were mush, there was no curry taste, and then there were those canned pineapples, green and red peppers again. Doesn't anyone in the kitchen do quality control? No coconut in a coconut dish. No curry in a curry plate. No spice in a spicy platter. Canned pineapple in a pineapple dish. Red and green peppers everywhere. What a disappointment. Place One. Star One. read more

Place One's is easily my favorite Chinese restaurant and I've been ordering here for probably as long as they've been open. They used to have a different name awhile ago, though, or maybe it was different owners. Can't recall. Anyway, I only get delivery so no comment on the inside. The lo mein, wonton soup, and egg and shrimp rolls are all excellent. General Tso's Chicken, Happy Family, and Singapore Chow Mei Fun are really good, too. That's all I really order due to being somewhat "unadventurous". Also, I've never had any issues with any of the food whether it be undercooked, overcooked, missing items, wrong items, etc. It's always exactly what was ordered and delicious. Their staff is always friendly and awesome, their delivery is always fast and the food is always hot. read more

Quickie review here. Cruising in the area, Place One looked like a good bet from the Yelp reviews. It was! Solo dining, it's difficult to assess from one dish. However, the Gung Pla Murk Pat Nam Prik Paow (Shrimp and calamari with onion, chili, snow peas, other vegetables in black bean sauce) was just fine! Hooray, it was on the lunch special menu, so the portion was manageable. Service was friendly and prompt. I would visit again, easily. read more

Tea and wontons were nice. Server was friendly. However, I ordered the Pad Thai and it simply tasted like soy sauce and noodles. It had all the fixings like pad Thai, but the sauce didn't taste anything like it. I sent it back and they "recooked" it. But it mostly tasted like they added some chili and some more soy sauce. I've had a lot of pad thai, but today, this just wasn't it. Very disappointing. read more

Was staying at nearby hotel and seemed like the only non fast food place nearby. I am so glad i tried, they were excellent! There is a menu online and ordering was easy. I got spring rolls and pad thai. While it wasn't the best Thai I have ever had, it definitely was well made. Spring rolls were good, I don't think made there, but very yummy and had a good sauce with them. Pad Thai was also good. Little heat, but nothing overwhelming. I didn't get a chance to try the Chinese menu, but i definitely will go back. I got take out, but restaurant was clean, service seemed good and they have fish in the waiting area that were quite interactive. Thanks for the only non american food on this trip. Truly appreciated! read more

I normally don't review places but this really made me mad. We get our food and get home everything is nasty. The sweet and sour chicken I had to dry it off with paper towel they were so greasy. the egg rolls where the same way. My husband got general tsos chicken and it tasted like fish. I am very disappointed because I have always had good food from here. Especially for the price we paid it was very uncalled for. They close at 10 so its not like we called too late for an order. Will not be ordering from them again. read more
