How can you review a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant under 3 stars? Do you know what you're reviewing and it's COVID? I got the kung pao chicken lunch special with wonton soup and a side of egg roll. No they did not charge extra for a hot oil. If you don't want soup get a soda So it's not NYC, I've accepted what Fried rice taste like outside of New York City. If this was my first attempt at Americanized Chinese food outside of New York this would be a 2 star review but it's all about relativity, Einstein and whatnot Egg roll was good, nothing to complain or brag about, dip it in duck sauce it's as good as it gets The entree, kung pao chicken, was good but not spicy, unlike George Coztanza promises. The portion is competitive, as Chinese food rarely disappoints on this front The soup is again good, nothing to brag about but nothing to complain about. I work less than 5 minutes from here so I will order atleast twice a month from here going forward for sure. My lunch special plus egg roll was less than $9. In this inflated economy that is awesome. This was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. I have been far and wide and have had my fair share of bad food but this place has set a new low. BBQ boneless Spare Ribs were under cooked and really more fat than meat, the fried rice had undercooked vegetables and the egg roll lacked filling. Not one person washed their hands, the young girl who took my money and counted it out, nope. The guy sitting up front then who went to cook the food, nope. Super Wok? This one table takeout joint is the opposite of "Super." The floor is crammed with inventoried cases of soda and packaging, suggesting it has not been cleaned in forever. I went with the quick Lunch Special @ under $6. The price would be right if only the taste followed suit. Everything came out in plastic or Styrofoam containers. The Wonton Soup was salty (MSG), the wontons themselves, thick and tasteless. The General Tso's Chicken had a dark tawny gloopy sauce that was neither spicy, nor subtly sweet; but in some no man's land in between that satisfied neither end of the spectrum expected for that dish. The Fried Rice was the best part of the meal. It was not cooked in dyed bullion, but had lots of chunky pork and veggies, and little flavor. Almost decent. The advertising declares that it is, "Szechuan, Hunan, Cantonese & Thai Style." Actually, what they meant to say was that it is none of those. Not a big mistake. It is a mish mosh of indistinct tastes and textures, none of which begin to be authentic. It is not possible to get anything Thai on the Lunch Special, Special Platters, House Specialties nor Combination Platters menus. We got a menu for this restaurant's "grand opening" (I guess it's under new ownership?) and decided to give it a try. GREAT DECISION. My husband and I each got a "double combo" (smaller portions of two popular dishes with pork fried rice and egg roll). He enjoyed his General Tso's chicken ("sauce is temperature hot, but not too spicy-hot") and roast pork with broccoli combo, and I found the shrimp with mixed vegetable (with HUGE mushrooms) and sweet and sour shrimp so filling in and of themselves that I'm saving the rice and egg roll for another day. I did notice the cubed pork in the fried rice was larger than what I usually get at other Chinese places, and much more moist. They also threw in three fresh from the oven almond cookies. I don't know if this is their equivalent to tossing in fortune cookies, or if it's part of their grand opening "swag," but I appreciated them just the same. I had very low expectation for my take out from Super Wok. The store looked to be a step below your typical Double Dragon and the heat must not have been working since it was colder than Siberia inside. All the employees were wearing winter coats while in the kitchen. This is a takeout place and the only that matters is price and food quality. Super Wok nailed both of them. This is your typical local fast food Chinese place in a strip mall. I have sampled many of their dishes like general tso chicken, bourbon chicken, shrimp and broccoli, shrimp lo mein and many others. I would recommend them all with the exception of their coconut shrimp and crab rangoon. Coconut shrimp was drenched in a horrid thick sauce while the crab Rangoon is entirely too sweet. One thing that truly bothers me is the cleanliness of the restaurant it looks dirty and they should seriously do a deep cleaning. read more

Been a while, but I remember the pork fried dumplings being excellent. Last time I was there, there was a girl cooking. Literally a "girl" as in maybe 10-11 years old. She makes damn good dumplings for her age. One thing that stuck out about this place... I once ordered from them when I was in the southwest end of Croydon, thinking I was ordering from a place on rt 13. The order arrived in 20 or so minutes. I later realized this was the place all the way down in Levittown. Their delivery area must be HUGE. Ps... Only thing that really impressed us was the delivery time, and the egg rolls. We ordered delivery and were told about an hour and it came in about 20 minutes. The rice was not great, seemed old. I got the bourbon chicken and it was super fatty. My wife got the bbq boneless spare ribs and the flavor just wasn't great. The egg rolls were pretty good and not that oil. This place is primarily takeout. It has two tables and 7 chairs only. The food was awesome. The spring roll was fresh and delicious. Steamed vegtables had great flavor. My string beans had just the right amount of souce to mix with the small rice it came with. This is now my new number 1 chinese takeout. read more

I just moved into the neighborhood across the street six months ago and never tried this place, then finally because of four stars on here I gave it a try and regret not eating here before, they have delicious flavor, especially in their lo mein and generals chicken, I enjoyed all of it with my wife very much from the pork fried rice to the eggrolls to the meal! I'll definitely be eating here this is my new Chinese spot, so now I won't have to drive all the way to route one's China sunrise, this place is equally good if not better! Hit or miss place, honestly. I've ordered here many times and there's usually one item of the order that is bad and needs to be thrown out. Some items are also really good. But the thing is, nothing is consistently good 100% of the time, here. Further, they DO NOT tell you when you have earned a free item like a soda or egg roll; they wait for you to ask, and if you don't, you don't get the item. They also keep the place extremely hot in the summer, presumably because they are trying to save money. Because of these things, I will stop coming here after today, which was my last straw. A few weeks ago I ordered $40.00 worth of food. I had chicken and broccoli with white rice, which was good. I also had fried dumplings that were nicely fried to a golden-brown color. But I also had fried wontons that were disgustingly hard (enough to hurt your teeth). My friend had fried rice that was good, but ordered chicken wings that she said tasted sour. On this $40.00 order that was delivery, I was supposed to get a few free items, which they didn't include because you didn't specifically ask for them. Also, no napkins or any plastic utensils are ever provided unless you ask. In store today, I picked up my food on the way to work, and I got extremely burnt fried dumplings. This is my usual chinese take-out place for delivery on weekends. I chose it because a stack of menus were left in my apartment complex when the place opened. I've never gone into the store itself but every time I order delivery the food is hot and tasty. Usually delivery is very fast, and the prices are good. I usually order a variety of things, and they're all usually good: the lo-mein, General Tso's, shrimp and string beans, Pepper steak, egg rolls, wonton soup, steamed dumplings are all delicious. I wouldn't be afraid to try new/different items from the menu either. read more
