Favorite Vietnamese dessert place in Houston! I really enjoy the refreshing drinks they have and I crave this place often! I always get the Che 3 mau when I come here! It's a combination of jelly, red bean, mung bean, taro, and coconut milk. This is a must try! My only complaint is that sometimes the jelly is hard. Service is quick. My drink came out in less than 5 minutes which I appreciated. Will come back soon! read more

Bambu has some of the best choices of Vietnamese deserts and drinks in Houston. I was a big fan for several years but since they have moved from their original location (now is Teaholic), prices have gone up, however the quality of their drinks is still consistent and they have added new items to their menu as well such as shaved ice and Banh Trang Tron. Obviously the most popular drink is their bambu special and it is absolutely worth getting if you cannot decide. If you're a coconut lover, you'll be hooked on this drink and even if you're not, you'll still appreciate it. The other recommended drinks are the #6 and #10. Parking is plentiful and service has always been excellent. Tip: first timers should try the bambu special and card is only acceptable if order is over $8. read more

Didn't realize there was a BAMBU here until I was driving around waiting for appointment, so decided to stop in. This location is a lot bigger and has plenty of seating. I got the #1 BAMBU Special which consists of Coconut, pandan jelly, longan, basil seed - which is always good and fresh I'm glad they got a location here now, because I'm always around this area, when in town. read more

We always come here when we're craving some vietnamese desserts (che), in particular the #10 with red tapioca, grass jelly and my favorite pandan jelly topped with coconut milk. They have a big variety of different desserts and drinks. Located in the Kim Son plaza so plenty of parking, just tougher at peak times. Lots of tables and seating, but does get crowded. We've tried a few of their other desserts, but always now default to our usual one, but good place if you want to try some viet desserts! read more

I and my friends love this place, it's nice and carries variety of che (sweet drink), smoothies, milk teas and especially the shaved-ice-like-ice-cream. Oh man, I love their ice cream, especially the yogurt flavor, yummy. Top it off with some red beans and lychee, then bam, you're in heave, trust me! My friends a big fan of their Bambu special and Che 3 mau, these are their must-order whenever we visit the store. The store is big and nice and has plenty of room for a big group of friends so no worry to find a good spot. They also have patio tables but I would not recommend sit there in this winter weather though. Although there are a lot of hang out places in this same plaza, but I would say Bambu is the best one due to their friendly service, big menu and affordable price. Honestly wouldn't put recommend this place when there are so many other boba places close by and the only reason I went to this place is because the boba place next door was closed. We went in the morning to get boba but they waited right until we were about to pay to tell us that they didn't have any boba. How do you not have the one thing you advertise the most???? To make matters worse, the wait time was over 20 minutes when there was only one other customer in there and the smoothie we ordered was disgusting. Overpriced and not worth it. read more

My family always stops by this Bambu location before we leave Houston to go home and our drinks have always been consistently good. I always order the #4. Unless you like grainy beans in your drink, I'd skip the options that have mung been or red bean because they put too many in the cup and all you end up drinking is beans. read more

I love this place. They have really nice "Dessert" drinks that are super delicious. They used to have a location near River Oaks but ever since that closed I started driving 15 miles to come here for their Tapioca Tea. This place is always buzzing - the good part. However, the staff is not able to keep up with it's maintenance and it was quite dirty when I went in last weekend. Tables and floors were sticky, floors had straw wrappers all around. I would have easily given 4 stars for their product. However, lack of cleanliness and the care taken to keep the premises got me quite turned off and I did not feel like sitting in to enjoy my drink. This place used to be my favorite place to stop by whenever I'm in Bellaire but the drink is getting worst and I'm really not happy with how they serve there. My favorite drink is Thai Green Tea. One time I order it with boba and they forgot to put boba in there for me. I walked outside and then realized they missed it so I came back to tell them. The front guy required me to have a receipt to prove that I purchased for that boba already??? Then he added it on for me. Second time was like last week, their drink was too sweet with the taste of a lot of condensed milk, I guess? All I taste was MILK, not THAI GREEN TEA. I finally gave them the last try today with the same drink. I bought it for to go and then after I left their store for 20 minutes, I started taking the drink out of the bag and realized they FORGOT my boba again... It really pissed me off since I paid for my drink and boba, 2 other drinks and TIPS. I was too far already to come back and tell them what they have missed. Before that, I was so excited and craved for a boba drink and then had to end up with no BOBA at all. I'm sorry but this's unacceptable. I'm not coming back to Bambu again. read more

Utterly disgusted at food quality and customer service. I have previously shopped here multiple times and enjoyed the drinks. However, after finding a fly in my drink and having to repeatedly complain to workers, this experience will be my last. Clearly remembering my first feeling of confusion as I spit out the fly, my stomach churns at the thought that the workers payed such disregard towards the quality of their drinks. After showing the workers a photo of the fly that I had almost swallowed, they reluctantly asked "What do you want?" As if careless of this event. As if expecting me to simply suppress my disgust and swallow the fly. As if I hadn't asked for a refund multiple times. I now have a distrust for not only the quality of this business's drinks but also the quality of customer service. Additionally, I'm sickened by the fact that this is not an isolated incident. I have seen MULTIPLE reviews from people with similar experiences. I have read other costumers' revolting testimonies. I may have previously enjoyed Bambu but this has exposed the carelessness that not only goes into the food but also the service. read more

I got banh trang tron here for the first time The ingredients are nice, however, the mixing of them is poorly executed: Too dry. Who doesn't love to eat straight up rice paper? when i asked for more sauce, they were very rigid and declined even though i asked for multiple time. Bad customer service. read more

My family and I have been fans of this BAMBU location for years now! Their drinks and desserts are always consistent and the service is always very friendly. We've tried other locations in Houston and none of them compare to this one. We love to order from the dessert section that consist of their Vietnamese Che, it's outstanding! I was also very pleased that they added shaved ice to the menu when they moved to a larger building just next door to their old location. My favorite is the strawberry cheesecake which consist of a layer of strawberry shaved ice under a layer of cheesecake shaved ice and topped with graham cracker crumbs, strawberries, raspberries, and condensed milk and strawberry drizzle. I can't get enough of it! I definitely recommend BAMBU to anyone who's looking for a sweet treat! You won't be disappointed! read more

I would give the food and beverages five stars as really they are signature far east dishes and dessert but the way they serve customers during this covid time is really concerning. The lady on the cashiers already full prepped with mask, shield, etc but then when we were called for our order, we noticed that the man who served our food and drinks (probably the same one who made them too) was barefaced. No mask, no shield at all. He even talked to us in front of our food that has no cover at all. I know that most of the typical place do not really care about hygiene but i think this place need to raise their bar on the hygiene matter. read more

I've been to Bambu multiple times before. The drinks and other menu items are very delicious. There is so many options on the menu that you can choose from. The store's atmosphere is very modern and chic. Overall I'd say that this is a good go to drink store. read more

Great shave ice. I love lychee shave ice. Their Che is also good. BANH trang tron is also great. I order banh trang tron here to try. I'm going to do comparisons between here and Hangout BANH trang tron. First off bambu $5.99 and Hangout $4.99. Bambu has tiny tiny shrimps the size of mosquitoes which is tasty. Not a lot of beef jerky and 3 halves of quail eggs. You have slice of lime to squeeze on and have to wait for the rice paper to soften. I like the roasted lots of peanuts but I don't like liver. Overall good. The Hangout is price one dollar less. The rice paper is already soften with some sauce. There are lots of beef jerky but only half a big egg. Both are great but Hangout beats by one ! read more

Since I don't live in Houston, my brother (who lives in Houston) had brought me some when he came home. I instantly fell in love with the dessert. So the next time I was in Houston, I had to stop in to grab some before heading back home. I always get the #6 - Chè trái cây - Lychee, longan, red tapioca, jackfruit, palm seed, pandan jelly, jello, young coconut. Such a great combination of all sorts of fruits I love. We also ordered a couple others and a mocha for my son. It's a nice place you can sit inside or outside and eat/drink your dessert. I definitely would refer Bambu and would bring my out of town friends and families. a read more

Vietnamese dessert cafe with trendy drinks. They serve all kinds of boba, Che, and shaved ribbon ice. I like their #1 Bambu special. It's a light drink that's not as heavy as their other coconut based ones. It has coconut water, basil seeds, coconut, pandan jelly, and logan fruit. Overall, great stop for dessert!! It's a little farther out (West Bellaire) than the other popular Chinatown destinations on the East side of the Beltway, but definitely worth it. read more

My mom and I bought Signature Desserts #4 and #5 here. I took off a star because I felt that they could have filled the cup more. Besides that, it's a nice place to sit and enjoy Boba drinks and desserts with friends and family. It would be nice if Bambu give stamps for buying drinks and we would receive a free one after a certain number of drinks for loyal customers like other Boba places do. read more

I got the BAMBU combo, which is the dessert I would always get. I got it To go this time, after I got to my office, ready to consume and luckily I saw a baby roach floating inside before I touched it. Called them to complain, the woman who answered the phone just said, come back and we will change it for you! Yeah no apology and they are making me drive 20 min to and from which would make my trip abt 40 min total just to replace the damn drink! Obviously there's a sanitary issue here and it's safe to say, I will never go back! YUCK!! read more

First off the when our table was wiped down the rag left the most horrid rotten smell. Waited 30 minutes for drinks with my family ($60 Dollars worth) only to check to say they didn't make it cause they were out of pandan. It would have been nice if someone just walked out and told us. I'm always excited about being in China Town when I know I will be visiting Bambu!! THEY MAKE MY FAVORITE SHAVED ICE TREAT!!! Everytime I'm here the line is super long but moves fast. There's also a short wait for orders. My only critic would be that they hire someone to keep the ding area clean. This last visit every single table was dirty because they were extremely busy. So although my treat was superb, I hated eating it at a dirty table. read more

You can customize and make your own dessert! You can take out some things you dont like (jelly), make it less sweet, add things you do like (taro and basil seeds). The ambiance ia great for young and old and its reasonably priced! Maybe the only complaint I have is the hole on top of the cup was a little small for my spoon this time. I have ywt to try everything but great selection on menu and delicious place to fill my taro and coconut milk cravings! read more

Wow. The WORST customer service ever. Waited 30 minutes for my one drink, granted the lady in front of me ordered 20 drinks. But my friend who ordered the same drink after me got the drink before me. Then they proceeded to tell me they ran out of pandan jelly and to wait 10 minutes. After checking again after 10 mins when they definitely had pandan jelly again (since 10 more drinks were prepared with it - all which didn't include mine). I asked them about the status of my drink and they proceeded to ignore me. I asked 3 times. My boyfriend came up to try to see what's happening. They continued ignoring us and helped their Vietnamese speaking customers. English speaking customers like us get ignored. When They finally gave me a crappy drink which had maybe 5 pieces of the red tapioca (I ordered #10 of the specialty drinks). They probably ran out of red Tapioca by the time they decided to serve me. Ridiculous. Save your $5. Total buzz kill after a great dinner. Skip this dessert spot that is terribly staffed and straight caters to Vietnamese speaking people only. read more

Just a heads-up: their fruit teas lean more on the fruit-forward side than actual tea, and mine was definitely on the sweeter end of the spectrum--likely from the syrup in the mango popping boba. Even at half sugar, it was pretty sweet. I also noticed a couple of things that could've made the drink better: some lemon seeds were left in, and the smaller bits of mango weren't fully ripe, which made the texture a bit off. That said, the staff's kindness and the wide variety of drinks make me want to come back and try other options! I'm especially interested in their Saigon street food menu and those adorable kitty paw-shaped mochi waffles. The shop itself is small with limited seating, so I'd recommend grabbing your drinks to-go unless you're staying for a bite. Bonus points for being located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking--no stress finding a spot!

I picked up water and utensils for our party before sitting and would have preferred to have to pick everything up at the counter or have everything brought to the table to avoid multiple trips around when the restaurant is busy.
