Can't say I was impressed. We ordered 4 dishes, 2 were average-decent. Two were inedible, the pork in the pork fried rice was spoiled, you could smell it. The spring rolls were past their prime, complete mush inside. The brown sauce was gelatinous and very bland. I wanted to like this place, but I will never again eat anything from here. This place was a recommendation, I am truly surprised. The spicy orange chicken was good though and one of the veggie stir fry's was good, the other was in the bland brown sauce and not much veggies were in there (3 snow peas lol). Horrible just horrible. First time there bad experience I got steamed dumplings, pork and a shrimp eggroll horrible my steam dough was just so thick falling apart over just horrible mushy, my shrimp roll had two baby shrimp in it just falling apart and not even because of oil. It was just horrible like it was sitting out if I can give this place to zero I would and then on top of that call the manager twice who said they would have to call me backthat is not customer service horrible as a Chinese food person who eat Chinese food daily I would never recommend this place even to my worst enemy read more

If I could give Bamboo Gardens a negative -10 I would. I fear for anyone eating from this establishment as the meat is from some other species and not a pig. The beef in the lo mein was definitely not beef. It tasted like a totally unidentified species. I ordered 2 large orders of the ribs and to my dismay they were not pork ribs from a pig. All $45.00 worth of food went in the trash! With only tasting a very small amount of the food I was deathly ill for several days with severe cramps, vomiting and diarrhea. I was to the point that I was contemplating going to the emergency room. I will NEVER order from Bamboo Gardens again and I highly recommend that NO ONE ever orders from this Chinese restaurant. Not sure why some others had such a disappointing experience here. I'm extremely picky about my Chinese food - spoiled by Manhattan one might say - and there is literally nowhere else I'd go for my Hot & Sour Soup. It's exactly as it should be - not too watery, not too thick, perfect spice and I even eat the tofu (I do not eat tofu EVER). I enjoyed everything I ever got here, and their fried rice I find is the best in the area, too. I do miss a couple of items - like cold sesame or peanut noodles and dumplings or wontons in a spicy schechuan sauce; but I also realize spicy - in my understanding of the word - is not really popular in the area, alas. I lust for chengdu, but it's a hile to get anything close. The people are lovely, and I finished every meal I ever got here. And usually I don't. This is by far my most frequent pick. read more

I consider myself a Chinese food connoisseur. Born and raised in Brooklyn will do that to a girl LOL I've spent most of my Jersey life in Toms River and it took years to find my favorite Chinese food restaurant. I now live in Brick and have tried 4 or 5 places so far. This was by far the worst. I usually order a Pu Pu platter so I can try 6 to 8 appetizers all at once. Here they call it "House Tidbits". On a "normal Pu Pu platter you will normally find 2 of each - spare ribs, chicken wings, spring rolls, shrimp toast and then depending on where you order from you'll get fantail shrimp or fried wontons or cheese wontons (crab rangoon) etc. oh, and the bbq'd items usually come in a separate container. Here, everything came in one container. The spare ribs were dry as all heck, I didn't even eat them, waste of money and food. Chicken skewers, the first was delicious and the second was chewy. Several fried wontons, bland, but fine. Fried shrimp, not bad, but not the fluffy, yummy fantail shrimp. Shrimp toast, is normally one of my favorites, this was DISGUSTING! It looked like dog food on the inside! I also ordered beef chow fun. I LOVE chow fun it's thick noodles with some crunchy vegetables and a meat. I've recently started to order beef vs chicken, I prefer chicken but the other meats make the dish more flavorful. The beef was sub-par. Lastly, I ordered a sweet and sour chicken combo. I was too full to yet try the egg roll but the fried rice was absolutely flavorless and the sweet and sour chicken (I'm sure it's just a frozen thing they purchase and fry) was very good. Overall, I spent $50 (because I like to order enough to try a bunch and have it last for days) and it was NOT worth it. I will NOT be returning and you should order from somewhere else. Sooo good! I am not a Brick native and was visiting a friend for the day. While on our way back from Wawa we decided to grab some lunch for the pool and went for Bamboo Gardens instead of our usual sandwich. Wow!!! The lunch specials are a great price, plenty of options to choose from, and let you customize it based on what you got. I didn't see many reviews so either people in Brick dont use Yelp, or it's a newer business. Regardless, I highly recommend Bamboo Gardens if you are in the area. Food arrived cold and soggy, the chicken was definitely old, it was dry and chewy. It made me sick overnight.

This was my first experience and my last here. The food took an hour to deliver and was super greasy and floating in way too much sauce, that other places put on the side. I do not enjoy having places putting sauces on my food that are meant to be doled out by the consumer. The sauce was so salty it was inedible. Not much to say, here. Bamboo Gardens is a pretty "okay" Chinese place, albeit with a few more menu options than other places in the nearby area. The decor is the same as most other walk-in Chinese takeout sort of places: a tad run down and very dated, but let's face it - you don't come here for the ambiance. Personally, I kind of like the "late 80's / early 90's run down retro" sort of feel, but I have pretty weird tastes in decor. The restaurant was kept "clean-ish". I say "ish", because on the particular night I went, they had the door left open for ventilation and there was a *ton* of flies / mosquitoes / tiny bugs buzzing around the seating area. A little off-putting, since all I could think was "Ugh, I hope I don't end up with these things in my food". Since flies are brown, and my SaCha beef was also brown, I remained blissfully ignorant as to whether or not my food was also an insect graveyard. The flavor was alright, about on par with every other run of the mill Americanized Chinese food joint in the tri-county area. In a pinch, I'd probably go back if nothing else was open, although I'd promptly walk out if there's as many bugs as last time. read more

I had food delivered to my house and they gave me the completely wrong order and when my fiancé had called and told them it was the wrong order and simply asked if he could get the order changed to what we actually did order the woman on the phone told us to "go fuck ourselves" Which is absolutely disgusting for any place to be speaking to a customer that way. Food seemed like it was already cooked 4hrs before I ordered chicken was rubbery then I asked for no onions in my pork fired rice but still got them also got fried chicken wings which were to soggy to even eat. Horrible! I ordered delivery for the first time here and it will definitely be the last. They charged me twice and told me it wasn't their problem, that I need to call my bank if I want a refund. There was snow on the ground and they told me if I wanted delivery don't expect them to come to the door. They had my number but instead of calling me to let me know they were here they screamed at my neighbors to ring my doorbell for them so they didn't have to walk to the door. My husband walked to the street in the snow only to find out that she didn't think to bring a pen for a credit card order and made him walk up and down again. And lastly, when I FINALLY got my food there was not one but two long hairs in it. NEVER ORDER FROM THIS AWFUL PLACE! read more
