Let's get the obvious out first: this is a family-run restaurant that is in a tin building in a gravel parking lot under an Ammo billoard. This is not the Ritz, but it doesn't pretend to be. The place is clean, the people are inviting and the food is plentiful. We were meeting our niece who was staying in Quartzsite as she traveled through on her way East. This was a great place to meet, connect and share a perfectly good meal. This is not a destination restaurant, but if you are in Quartzsite or passing through, Bamboo is a fine stop for a comfortable, abundant meal. read more

This place is hidden here in Tyson Wells. It's a lot of food for the price. As I walked through the gem shows and things began to close down after 5p.m. this place was open. I decided to check it out. It was very clean and full of people eating. I ended up getting the plate in which you get a little bit of everything. For being in the middle of nowhere, Quartzite, AZ the food was delicious. The portion was great, the food came out fresh as I waited in line. I will definitely return to this place. Next to the Quartzite Big tent RV show & marketplace, you'll find an unsuspecting shack with big red bold letters "Chinese Food". It's looks nothing more than some of rickety metal sheds put together. Inside, the ambiance is lackluster. Exactly what I expected from a flea market Chinese restaurant. The girls who worked here were enthusiastic & very helpful (maybe a little extra stoned), but they were super nice. You have two ordering options - you can get a 2 meat & 1 veggie entre, or pay a couple dollars more & order however many meats you want. They dish it out for you... think Panda Express, but hobo style. The hubby & I shared a 2 meat 1 veg entree & it was WAAAAY too much food for both of us. They loaded us up, so quantity is not an issue. The issue is the quality of food.. it's poor. It's not good.... I could see people liking this if they were looking for a place to give them a lot of food, but food just looked & tasted terrible... like old buffet food. This little restaurant is so Quartzsite. It is in a metal building and the food is prepared next door in a food trailer. The décor is simple and while it won't impress a date on date night it was corky enough to be charming. You pay up front at the cash register prior to getting any food. This is a covid time so masks and plexiglass were in place. They will provide a mask if you need one and they were following covid guidelines. It appears it would be a buffet type of place normally however they served us from behind the plastic screen. They were offering two dine in options. For $10.00 you get a two meat and one veggie plate or for $12.00 it was any of the choices they had plus a choice of either hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Both options came with a spring roll. Drinks were a dollar for a can of soda or a bottle of water. I went with the $12.00 option and had sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork, kung pao chicken and a shrimp dish. I went with the fried noodles and passed on the rice. My favorite was the sesame chicken and the sweet and sour pork. The spring roll was good and so was the soup. I could not finish my meal and I went in pretty hungry. The service was good and everything was clean. We watched them thoroughly clean each table as people left. Good Chinese food. King Pao chicken was very good. A bowl of Sweet and sour soup was excellent and could serve 4 easily.

The place was hard to find as we drove passed it several times in the dark. It was our first time there in Quartzite for the RTR and big tent show, so we weren't familiar with the area yet. I saw fresh food being brought out and it was steaming. But since the restaurant is open air... has a roof and walls but not technically a door, it was still pretty cold to sit there and eat, the food got cold pretty quick. Besides the food not being hot, it also wasn't really that good, but they do give you a lot!!! We went back a second time because there just wasn't many choices for restaurants in Quartzite. And also we liked the sisters who worked there. They were nice, polite and funny. We were entertained by her vast knowledge of strange facts. read more

Employees and the owner are always friendly, food is fresh, a good variety of selections, and portions are generous (plan on eating leftovers), the atmosphere is relaxed in their dining room (or take your food to go)... all at a fair price. We (locals like us) wish they were open year round! Our family of 7 oftentimes just orders 3 meals to go and we have enough leftovers practically for a second round for all 7 the next day! Don't let the steel building and crock pots scare you off! The food is prepared in a licensed kitchen adjacent to the serving area, similar to any Chinese buffet. BUT, unlike a buffet, service is similar to a build-your-meal restaurant (Subway, Chipotle, etc.). We were given two meal / price options, both included fried rice and/or noodles, vegetables, a spring roll, and soup. The difference was you could get two meat choices included, or all five meat choices for an additional $2. On our stop, they had chicken in: sweet and sour, sesame, Mongolian, kung pow, and bar-b-que. Now, let's talk about portions. We got two 2-meat meals, each was packaged in a tri-divide Styrofoam clamshell to-go container. They fill, and we mean FILL this container for you with about 2/3 rice and/or noodle (we had both and they were excellent), hefty portions of the chosen meat (we had sesame, Mongolian, and kung pow, all good), vegetables on top, and then tuck the spring roll in. Soup is served in a separate Styrofoam bowl with lid. Rounding out the experience, you stop at the condiment and utensil table to grab soy, duck, and/or spicy sauce, forks / spoons, and napkins. If you choose to eat-in, there are many clean tables within the steel shelter with good distancing. The staff was welcoming, helpful, and all around awesome, appearing to be a multi-generational family-run business. We joked in line about how one meal could feed both of us, but at least we'd have leftovers. NOT SO. We both crushed our meals when we got home! Mmmmm, mmmm! Addressing Joe's review... On the contrary, the service line was very sanitary and staff was all wearing appropriate food-service and pandemic PPE. The inside environment was very clean and we could tell the staff takes pride in what they do. We spent about $23, including a 20% tip, on our two meals that really could have been four meals. This is on-par with, or less than what we've spent at nearby establishments without leftover potential. read more

I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to leave a bad one here just for the sake of others health . But I know what I smelled when I saw that food my husband begged to give it a try. The containers where the chow mein was at wasn't even steaming didn't look warm . The chicken looked all right but all my kids ate were the egg rolls . I couldn't stand to eat nomore than 3 tries I can smelled the rice smelled funky and some of the veggies looked reheated already (microwaved) and trust me when I say microwave . I saw the owner bring some more chow mein out in a Plastic Tupperware wear container . Normally you see the cook bring the hot steaming Wok . Didn't look at all sanitary to me but my husband said let's shop and support locals but now kids have a runny stool and won't stop vomiting so please avoid this place .
