Easily the best place for authentic Vietnamese/Thai food in Westbrook. Where they lack in decor, they far more than make up for with quality and flavor. If you take the time to speak to the staff, you'll also find that they're tremendously friendly and accommodating to any dietary needs or restrictions. My wife and I needed a hot bowl of Pho right before Christmas, and tried to go to our normal spot Phoever Maine, but alas, they were closed for the Christmas holiday. We decided to try Bamboo Bistro which was just down the road-- it has been open a few years, and a bowl of Pho is a bowl of Pho, right ? WRONG. We walked into the place and it was almost empty at 6:00 pm. The one person working out front told us to sit anywhere, and then we never saw him. After 15 minutes we finally caught his attention to ask him for menus. We both order Pho with Vietnamese meatballs. Another 15-20 minutes and the Pho arrives. Broth ok, noodles ok, meatballs............ disgusting. Obviously low grade beef with hard pieces in every bite. Every bite we had to fish out another piece of fatty grissle. We got so grossed out by them we removed them all from our Pho. I was starving but couldn't even finish my bowl. Our waiter never once came by to see how we were doing. No contact what so ever. We finally had enough and just wanted to leave but our guy was nowhere to be found. We finally walked up front and peered into the kitchen to get his attention so we could get our check and get out of there to find something good to eat for dinner. When you want a good bowl of Pho, try Phoever Maine just down the street, or any of the other dozen good noodle places in the area. Avoid Bamboo Bistro. Not good read more

I had the Pad Thai and unfortunately it was very disappointing. Barely any flavor, very dry. I couldn't eat it.

I was devastated when my old work and favorite Pho place closed recently, and have since been on a search for something even close to comparable. Bamboo Bistro not only is comparable but maybe even better, they have some of the best Pho I've ever had (and I've had a lot)! Not to mention their to go bowls are amazing, as I've always struggled with figuring out what to put the Pho in when I order out/have it home. I loved the chicken Pho so much, I'm on my second night in a row ordering it. The Thai tea is just an added bonus, that I love as well. Definitely my new go to for Pho! read more

First off, the employees here have always been very nice with positive attitudes! They are all unique with great personalities towards customers, even if there is a mistake. My fiancé and I live not too far, and it's a pretty simple menu. We get delivery from here about once a month. The food could use more flavor, in my opinion. But some things they have are vegan friendly. Not bad at all, and not mind-blowing. If you're looking for more authentic flavor and flair in the food, this may not be the place. The food is actually pretty good which is why I'm so bummed that I won't be ordering from here again. The first time we ordered, we got Pork Pad Thai and Chicken & Beef Pad Thai. When we got home, they gave us seafood Pad Thai which my husband can't eat. Then today, I got pork PadThai which was great until I bit into something hard...it was a STAPLE. I've heard so many good things about Bamboo Bistro lately so I figured I'd check them out. The first thing I noticed was how nice the menu looked. All of the food looked delicious which made it hard for me to decide what to eat. So I ended up sharing an appetizer sampler with a friend. Each item was super tasty! I felt like I was eating a homemade Asian meal. Even the dipping sauce was unique. I'm used to other restaurants giving me something from a bottle. They had a really good peanut dipping sauce which I loved. For the main meal I got BBQ pork wonton egg noodle soup, which was also really good. The bowls were way bigger than I expected. My bowl was loaded with noodles and dumplings. Everything in the soup was fresh. If you want your soup hotter, ask for their hot sauce (not the sriracha). Their homemade hot sauce really added a kick to my soup. Great food, great prices, great service. read more

I give it 2 star because I think is okay food there. This is my second time try their food. The first time I was tried to their combo Pho. This time I tried their crispy lomein. The fries crispy lomein it actually not make from lomein. The sauce have lots of msg and it is kind of salty. I wouldn't recommend friend to come to this place. read more

We had a relaxing meal at this new locally owned restaurant over the holidays. The food was delicious! I think my favorite was the Drunken Noodle but the Pho was really good too. Great family atmosphere and very clean, updated dining room and bathrooms. There are a couple of beautiful, framed embroideries on the wall that reminded me of those I saw when I was in Vietnam. There were 6 of us in our party and the space was able to accommodate us easily without feeling crowded. Friendly service, too. Lots of parking.
