Went on a weeknight - no buffet. THE GOOD Inviting restaurant - big & comfortable booth by window Excellent waiter Pork Dumplings were AWESOME Boneless ribs not too fatty THE BAD Garlic shrimp & Chicken with dry cooked string beans tasted very similar Somewhat small portion size for price Good but not so awesome that I craved a return read more

ISTBT. This cuck was really excited about Bamboo. I told an old friend I was starting to enjoy Chinese buffets and he recommended this place. He really built it up... I'm on a diet so I was really looking forward to this "cheat meal". Lets start with the pluses. I thought the decor was above average for a Chinese buffet (usually they're pretty weak on this). Selection was quite good - maybe 4-5 more dishes than other buffets I've been too. Plus they had sushi and dessert (ice cream too). About that sushi... I only had one piece of sushi. It was pretty much just all rice. Just a business tactic to fill you up on cheap starch... This cuck was not pleased with the ice cream. Not sure what it was but it tasted cheap. It's a shame because I took 6 gigantic scoops and threw it all away after only a few spoonfuls. Service was decent, the waitress was nice and refilled my glass probably 4 or 5 times. Important to note though that it wasn't very busy. Our waitress committed a blunder though when she didn't ask if we wanted soup. My friend had to ask for it. He was pissed because he thought it was a cheap tactic to save on soup. Not sure what the deal was (maybe they're low on soup or she just forgot) but it was really poor form. I gave 3 stars because i partly rate on value. This place is a good 20% more expensive then its competitors, so I expect a significantly better experience. read more

Best Chinese in area from what I can gather. Staff is friendly and helpful. Miss the buffet. Sushi is great I love sitting at sushi bar

We've been to, and have enjoyed, Bamboo's Westford, MA, location, but decided to give this place a try. The dinner buffet is very good, with a choice of miso, wonton, and hot and sour soups. Appetizers run the gamut from chicken wings to chicken teriyaki on a stick to oysters and shrimp dumplings and California rolls. I don't eat sushi, but the other two in my party enjoyed the extensive offerings. Main dishes on the buffet included lobster in a terrific sauce (and lots of meat), salt and pepper shrimp, a few beef, vegetable, and chicken selections, as well as a noodle and rice dish, while desserts were small cakes, fruit, and either ginger or green tea ice cream. The waiters didn't hover as much as they do in the Westford location, and a manager kept good track of the buffet, what was missing, etc. Everything was well-stocked and the right temperature. The only complaint I have is that I don't understand why tea is not included with the meal. Not like it costs so much for a teabag or for boiling water. The Bedford locale is larger and more open and airy than the Westford counterpart, and the bathrooms are clean--always a plus. Am sure we'll be back at some point, even tho the Westford location is much closer. read more

The food here is very good. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. I was there a few weeks ago with some family members and friends. Our waiter, "Yang", couldn't have been more rude. He seemed bothered by the fact that he had to serve us. He also took our plates away before we were done with our meal and tried to rush us along. I should also mention that they weren't busy at this time. Yang also hovered over us after he left us the bill (which came prematurely) and then proceeded to speak to the other waiters there in a non-English language, who all continued to stare at us. My guests said it was the most uncomfortable they have felt at a restaurant. I hope management addresses this issue because the food here is good, but the experience will leave me choosing other restaurants when I go for Chinese. read more

Despite my taste for the real thing, I'm not one to turn down Americanized Chinese food. Especially if it's in a buffet. Especially if I'm not paying. We came to Bamboo for a corporate luncheon, and honestly, even if someone volunteered to pay for my meal again here, I would have to think twice. I've been to many Chinese buffets around the country in my (admittedly short) lifetime, and this one was one of the worst. I like to have different flavor combinations on my plate, and at Bamboo, there was basically a choice of fried or oily. Meat was tough. Vegetables were limp. There was some color with peppers and green veggies, but everything was covered with a sheen of oily brown sauce. It felt almost like they used the same sauce for every dish. The buffet table itself had about 10 items on it - MUCH too small for the size of the restaurant! Dessert selection was paltry and the pastries were dry. The only redeeming quality of the food was the sushi corner in the very back. Not the freshest and definitely not authentic, but the rice and fish were passable, and they had pretty good cucumber rolls. As for the ambiance and decor, I'll give Bamboo a star for that; they clearly hired someone who knew what they were doing when they decorated the place. There's a really mellow red/brown/gold color scheme that looks very natural and Asian-inspired yet gives the dining room a nice, open feel. Too bad the food doesn't nearly live up to expectation. read more

So I went along with an office newbie to Bamboo for lunch. Let me take a second to mourn my life where the most exciting part of my workday is deciding where to stuff my face for lunch... Sigh. Anyway it's in a nice new-ish complex in office park central up by Sun and MITRE in Burlington. You can tell by the sheer number of bald guys in slacks with badges dangling from their necks. Dcor is pretty good, all Asian-fusiony, neutral tones and recessed lighting. Always been a big fan of the fountain wall. We just hit the buffet, the food was good, usual Chinese with some sushi on the side. I've had better, but still for lunch we wound up hurting ourselves, and in my experience Chinese buffets are meant for quantity first. There was a pretty good full menu and a bar and sushi bar. Only real complaint was that so many other people were there for the lunch buffet to that the line actually wrapped over into another section of the seating area. Maybe it's not every day that happens, but if you can't have crowd control, it's not a big incentive to go back. read more

I went to pick up food for my friend's mother and the lady was so rude to me. First called me sir when clearly I am a female. Then didn't believe me when I said the food had been paid for but was nice and polite to her White customers. read more

Updated review for the lunch buffet. The lunch buffet is very good. They have a nice selection of food, they refresh the buffet frequently, and the quality is very good. There are usually beef, chicken, shrimp, and vegetable dishes on the buffet in addition to several appetizer type items and sushi rolls. It's one of the best Chinese buffets I've been to, and probably the best in Eastern Massachusetts. read more

I'm here pretty constantly for lunch because I work right around the corner. It's good for American Chinese food. The buffet is great if you catch them at a busy time. The sushi is lovely too. Also: sushi buffet. :-) read more

Our company orders sushi from here on a pretty regular basis and ever time we have a very large order. The lunch specials are good deals. Sushi is always good but the Chinese could use improvement; I suppose that's what you should expect when you order buffet food. The reason for the two stars is customer service. They forget a part of our large order every time. Of course they will place a credit on your account. However the last time we ordered, they not surprisingly forgot something again but I forgot to call about the credit that same day. I called a couple days later when I remembered and they refused to give us the credit. Not impressed and will probably order elsewhere moving forward. In an age where you can easily order similar food elsewhere, they should be cautious about customer service. read more

Bedford Bamboo Delight is not as good as the Westford, Ma location. The wait staff are colder, and unattentive. Selections in the buffet are smaller then the buffet at the Westford location. Third food seems way saltier here. read more

Our waitress was polite. There was a language barrier. For example, she had no problem taking my order, but she was confused when I asked her to hold my drink until I received my dinner. the WORST thing about this place is how they treat certain customers... Whenever I ordered food or spoke to the waitress, I was monitored by two other staff members. At first I thought it was a coincidence that one of the restaurant staff members would all of a sudden appear whenever I spoke to her. It made my fiancé and I very uncomfortable. They just stared at us and we weren't sure why. We've never been treated like this before. It was very offensive and unjustified. We are always respectful and courteous to everyone. We even tipped our waitress well. They are definitely biased towards certain customers..... Which is disappointing. We will NEVER walk into this place again. .... We also noticed that they aren't always kind to people who have younger children... The food here is VERY basic and bland. My local cheap Chinese restaurant in Cape cod is a lot better than this place. I go out to eat every weekend and I can honestly say if anyone is really impressed by the food here, they probably don't go out very often. Put it this way, I can cook better than them and I've only been cooking for 2 months. Try it at your own risk... read more

4/28/14 thought you got a good deal from Groupon "$15 for $30 Worth of Japanese and Chinese Takeout at Bamboo Fine Asian Cuisine - Bedford " When the waitress gave me the check, all items I ordered went up by $1 - $1.5 average out only saving $8-9 (NOT $15) It's a very smart way to tease you, but not a generous way to do business. I won't be going back at any time. The food is OK! read more

My family came here for their buffet which was great. We came in today, and my 15 month son was crying and the general manager asked to move us to a different table because he was crying to loud. I'm disappointed in the treatment that we received because my 15 month son was not happy to go into the high chair. Naturally, we're not going back read more

I've been to this place for the Buffet, mostly. It's a few minutes drive from my office so I'm usually with a group of work friends. I gave this place 3 stars because I have no complaints about their food BUT, the checkout process is ALWAYS really slow so I'm taking 2 stars for that. Customer Services does count. Like I mentioned before, we go in office hours which means we go on our lunch breaks. We have 1 hr to eat (well, 40 mins really. (20 mins round-trip) and we all have the buffet so you would think we'd be out of there just on time... Think again, typically when we ask for the check it takes them at least 10 minutes to bring it and another 10-15 minutes to bring our cards/change back. And somehow, we always tip them. Now, don't tell me we should be asking for our check 10 mins after we sat down to eat. It is not the customer's responsibility to expedite THEIR process. It is their restaurant manager who should be aware and alert about these things happening. It's called: Good Customer Service. It may not sound like a lot of money but, think about it avg 5 ppl once a week at avg $16 p/person (tip included). That's over $4K a year. So, if you go to this place. Be prepared to have good food but, also be sure to have at least 1.5 hrs to spare. read more

A friend and I decided to give it a try. It was your basic Japanese decor - nothing fancy. We went with some sushi rolls: Red Maki Good), Eel Maki (Ok) & Lobster Maki (Good). If I'm desperate for sushi this is an ok place to come. read more

Had the lunch Buffett... the food was excellent. Service was good as well. Will definitely go back.

My husband and I ordered take out from here tonight. When I called they were very nice and told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. It was ready to go and nicely packaged when we got there. We ordered the Pad Thai, Kung Pao chicken, and shui mai appetizer. Everything was delicious. The pad Thai was made with crunchy noodles, which is different than I'm used to, but still tastes great. It had a fair amount of chicken and three large shrimp as well as plenty of vegetables. The Kung Pao chicken was the right level of spicy (just don't get a pepper) and was more meat than I had ever seen in a to-go order. The shui mai was fabulous and reminded me of dim sum from Chinatown in Houston. We will definitely be back for to-go and to dine in. The restaurant looked really nice on the inside from what I could see while I was waiting for them to run my payment. read more

OK buffet. Underwhelmed though since the ambiance and service was good and the food didn't measure up to it. Quite expensive for the variety and quality of the food I felt. read more

My friend introduced me to this place and boy has it changed my outlook on chinese buffet! The place is very nice and pretty fancy compared to china buffet! The food wasn't super oily and had flavor! What blew me away was the sushi! They consistently put out fresh sushi rolls (including shrimp tempura and other fancy rolls) They also had fresh spring rolls and peanut sauce (which is my favorite!) For $11 per person for lunch buffet, you can't go wrong! China buffet has a larger variety, but I would pick Bamboo over China buffet any day (at least the staff tells you thank you, have a nice day when your leaving unlike that China buffet guy who doesn't say anything unless its numbers aka the price!) If you were to compare china buffet vs bamboo it would be like quantity vs quality. QUALITY always beats quantity, so therefore BAMBOO wins! read more

Great quality good very clean and great drinks . Had the Rangoon and the Red Sox roll . Delicious .

I ordered take out for 9 on New Years Eve. Good sushi, they pack a lot of fish into the rolls. Best sushi in the Bedford area. Lunch buffet is also excellent for a place that serves both Japanese and Chinese food. read more

Decent food, but chaotic service at best. Don't bother going for lunch with a reservation because it is first come first seated regardless. Also, don't hold your breath for a parking space at lunch. Seems like a place that got too big for it's location and never evolved. read more

This is the best Chinese I have tried in the area. I dined her- not the buffet. The boneless spareribs were amazing. The food radiated flavor and was impeccably fresh. The atmosphere and decor was impressive- not the cheesy dated scene you often see in Chinese food places. The staff was very courteous and never overbearing. Easily the best Chinese food! read more

If you're looking a sushi buffet, this isn't the one you're going to want to go to. I've seen better sushi in the Costco frozen department. I still gave four stars because the other food they had at the buffet more than made up for it. They had a good selection of Asian food, but not sushi. Just wish it would've been advertised as what it actually is. Maybe the rolls you can order off of the menu are better, but unfortunately that's not what I ordered. read more

The Atmosphere was nice but both the food and service was another thing. We felt that we were not appreciated being refused every simple request that servers often are pleased to accomplish. We felt a little better when we overheard other diners being refused on things they were asking about.. At least they were not singling us out but being rude to most of the customers. Actually watching and experiencing this overall neglect actually made us more anxious to get our meals figuring that the food had to be awesome but after trying several of their dishes we were more enraged that we "took the abuse." People in that town have to be desperate for a night out to give this place a second thought. read more

I went here on a normal Wednesday. I went in and told them buffet for two, and they said ok follow me. I walk over to the buffet and there is none. Bamboo tofu was stale but the manager tasted it and said it was fine. No class. Very disappointed. What else is going on in that kitchen?

Yea I'm just gonna start right off with this one. Don't come here for the sushi. It was a terrible experience. I got 28 pieces of sushi and they were all pretty disgusting. I'm a huge sushi fan so I was really disappointed. They gave me leftover sushi at the end of the night because it was soggy and it was also warm! I couldn't believe a place as nice as this would serve lukewarm sushi. The only thing good was the beer and I can go anywhere for that. The service was quick atleast. I got leave faster than when my food came. Go somehwere in China town if you want authentic sushi read more

The food is below average. I've been to other Chinese buffet places with more variety and better taste especially for the price they charge. Everything tastes like it was dipped in extra oil. The waiting staff isn't very pleasant either. read more

As a vegetarian, the lunch buffet was disappointing. Nearly every item had meat in it, including the egg rolls. There was a sign for spring rolls but none were available during my two trips to the buffet. White rice, fried vegetable tempura, some very salty vegetable lo mein, and a mixed vegetable dish of snow peas, carrot, and celery did not make for an impressive meal. I'd expect some additional vegetarian variety like spring rolls, some type of broccoli dish, tofu. Maybe some more authentic dishes also. Overall it seemed to be typical, meat-heavy "American" Chinese food. It gets a little loud inside, and the buffet line gets long and forms between tables so the people in line were standing right next to people eating their lunch, which felt a bit awkward. The décor is nice and no issues with the service. read more

I ordered Bamboo tofu and it tasted sour. I told the waitresses. They took my dish back to the kitchen and then brought it back and said the manager and chef both tasted it and said it was ok. I tried it again and I am sure the sauce or tofu was sour. No respect for my opinion, only desire for my money. read more

Bamboo is our favorite buffet in this area. Although the food selection is not large, most of it is well-cooked and tasty, and they continually restock the buffet. The staff has generally been polite--by Asian buffet standards--and accommodating. My favorite items include General Tso's chicken, coconut/fried shrimp, sweet & sour chicken, boneless spare ribs, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons, chicken wings (when fresh, they're moist--not so if they've sat out for a while), and ginger & green tea ice cream. Every person gets either Miso or hot & sour soup with the meal, but I usually opt for their other food. This isn't a place where you should go if you're planning on eating lots of buffet sushi (in contrast to say, Minado). It's a pretty bland and limited selection. Prices per person are about $15/person for a weekend lunch, and $12/person for a weekday lunch buffet, which is more affordable than several other local buffets which aren't any better. The worst time to go would be 12-1:30 weekday lunches because there are many offices in the area which like to come here for lunch. There's often a long line at the buffet and empty items because of the volume. But hey, there must be a reason they keep coming back, right? read more
