I recently went there with some friends for a drag show and had a great time. Yes, parking is a chore, but that's not the venue's fault. The drinks are very heavy (you'll get your bang for your buck and then some with liquor) and the bartender was friendly and engaging. The sound system was fantastic, handling both music and comedy with aplomb. They had a short set with three queens, and Sue Nami in particular was excellent. I also liked the decorations (particularly the multiple disco balls). And it definitely caters to a kinkier/risque crowd if that's what you're into (I didn't experience any of that, but they have a leather shop and a kink-friendly back room). My only complaints were the bathrooms (far too dark, I literally needed to use my phone light to see the stall lock. It also makes you feel a little nervous when the walls are plastered with "only 1 person/stall" signs). And they needed a second bartender as the wait for the delicious drinks was long. But the entertainment and ambiance would entice me to visit again. read more

We had a horrible time here. First, we paid $15 just to get in, and then $20 for two drinks. The real issue started when the bartender "lost" our debit card--while we were standing right in front of him. He acted confused and claimed he couldn't find it. Only after we mentioned going to the manager did it suddenly reappear. By that time, we had already locked the card out of caution. It honestly felt like he was trying to take it, and that's incredibly upsetting. What should have been a fun night turned into a stressful situation. Really disappointing. I came here on a sat night. They had famous drag queen. I missed the show. But couple things to mention. 1. Parking parallel. On the street. Wasn't too bad 2. Drinks about 15$ each. 3. Bartenders super cute and friendly 4. Crowd mainly gay men but i noticed lots of females on the last floor dancing. Good music Friendly crowd 5. Clean bathroom. 6. club has 2 floors. This Eagle is pretty huge I didn't expect it to be that big coming from San Diego where it's hella small in comparison. I went on a Saturday night and it was packed! I still believe this is the best gay bar in Baltimore but the simple fact that this page remains "unclaimed" shows how much the owners care about their patrons' opinion . Here are the pros and cons: PROS: - Beautiful, trendy, spacious facility. This is not just a bar, it's a club with an large outdoor patio and several rooms with different atmospheres - Has a darkroom where a lot of action happens. However the bar restricted its opening to 12am (midnight) which is a bad idea. They will lose even more customers. CONS - Located in a HIGH CRIME area of the city with drug addicts hanging out just outside the bar. On 06/17/23, someone got shot 5 times less than 30ft away from the bar entrance!!! - Business is slow. On some nights you wonder if there's another place everybody flocked to. - Food is trash. This is fast food quality food with added salt and seasoning to hide its poor quality. It's really bad. I visited this bar over 20 times and security doesn't even ask for my ID anymore. That being said, attendance has really dropped and they often close sections (top floor) because it's empty. The restrictions on the darkroom are pissing customers off. This bartender was a Caucasian man working on the first floor. He would discriminately serve people who appeared to know him before others who have been waiting first and for longer. I visited the eagle for the first time. It was really fun! I came during Labor day weekend so the place was packed. The downstairs was playing latin x music and had ru paul's drag race playing on the screens. There were about Three separate dance areas and Three different bars. As well as a rooftop deck and patio area. I was tempted to take my shirt off because during the happy hour or buy some leather and put it on. I think either option gets you a free drink which i'm always down for. It seemed like a cool spot.I just danced the night away and had a great time meeting new people. I will definitely be coming back. As A BIPOC person I found it to be welcoming and friendly and noticed that they have a diverse staff. I will definitely be back had a blast. read more

If you're a QPOC, don't recommend. Very much centres white clientele and white people. There are different stages and I would say the upper floor attempts to accommodate BIPOC, but they remix the hip hop songs sometimes where it's giving gentrified hip-hop. So kind of a hit or miss. However, here is where I get the most upset. I was waiting for about 20-30 mins at the bar and clearly been present there for awhile, I know because the bartender explicitly needs to keep reminding me to wait, and states "I'll get to you." I'm cool with waiting, but I also explicitly ask this bartender what time does the kitchen close, bc i was really craving some fries and onion rings. I get no answer, but I do remember their kitchen closing at 12. Eventually, another bartender or staffer trickles in at like 12:08 comes to ask, how can I help you and says "kitchen closed at midnight." I communicate how long I've been waiting and be says I can't do anything. I'm hot AF because I was waiting hella long where i got there around 11:40/11:45pm and my issue is that the prior bartender was out there serving primarily white folx, people who got there after me!! I was being a patient patty, but y'all got me twisted when you play with my food. It was not even packed bc I think all the queer folx were probably at the Crown for "Version" night which is probably 1000x better and probably why Eagle had an "Customer Appreciation Night," with free cover all night to attract customers. But y'all was out here appreciating y'all white customers. Im disappointed as hell and your music was also tacky. I feel bad bc I ended up leaving home sooner and didn't get to spend as much time with my friends. Yet, I was not about to tolerate mediocre ass service, wack music, and be hungry. I've been to multiple The Eagles before, this one will serve you a bowl of disappointment instead of fries and onion rings. The Eagle is a staple in the gay community. Most major US cities have an Eagle (or if they don't have a bar named "The Eagle" then they still have a similar type of bar). I have been to Eagles all over the US and they have a lot in common. But there are differences too. I had been to the old Baltimore Eagle one time. It was kind of creepy to be honest. The current Eagle is a whole new bird. It is newly renovated from top to bottom, it has multiple bar areas, an outdoor area, an area for shows on the second floor, a leather and fetish shop on the second floor, and even an gallery space that features local art and photography in the third floor loft. This place is just great. We have been going every few weeks to watch RuPaul's Drag Race in the upstairs show area. It really is fun. Grab a few drinks and relax and watch the show. Catch up with friends who happen to also be there. The drag queen that hosts the show is fun and energetic - Miss Washington Heights. And you can hear the oohs and aahs of all of the other fans as we all cheer on our faves. Also have checked out the Bear Night that happens on Friday nights and it is a good crowd. I haven't tried the food yet - the kitchen just recently opened in the past month to my understanding. Everything else here is on point. The gentlemen and ladies at the door are all very friendly and professional. Bathrooms are on both levels and very clean. Drinks are what you would expect pretty much. Refills on soda are free which is unheard of in a bar like this pretty much. The Baltimore Eagle is great. Come out and give it a try, you will be glad that you did. read more

Checked this joint out tonight with a gal pal. Crowded in the main room when you enter. Petite go-go dancers in the scene. There is a coat check for jackets, purses and the like. Upstairs is the dancing area. DJs and fabulously dressed men. I spotted a shot boy, natch. The music was bumping. There is a spacious outdoor patio where all sorts of folks were gadding about. There is also a leather shop on premises which I will have to check out next time, preferably with my man in tow. This club is a total sausage fest that caters to the (male) gay community. The two of us were amongst the very few female clientele and I tried not to let that make me feel out of place. This would be a great place to come with friends when in the mood to really party but I do wish there were places like this for us ladies. read more

An absolute & utter NO for the Sunday Drag Brunch! My friends & I closed out a bacherlorette weekend here in hopes of ending the weekend with full bellies and lifted spirits. We left hungry and sorely disappointed in this place. After pre-paying online, we were under the impression that unlimited mimosas were included into the price, which was about $36, including tip and gratuity. Please note, they are not, it's a $12 charge per person, which was not made clear to us when we sat down. The performances were lackluster, and downright boring at times (what were those songs!?!) but even worst was the buffet, which consisted of cold waffles, runny eggs, soggy hash browns, 4 different types of meat, a small fruit tray and one dessert item. This "spread" was a disgrace. I would suggest they work on the menu before even thinking about holding another one of these events. There are too many choices to settle for mediocrity. Even after speaking with the manager, very politely might I add, he seemed receptive to the insight, but offered no reprise for the experience. I feel totally ripped off, and will never step foot in that establishment again. We will re-do our drag brunch experience in DC where they do it RIGHT! read more

The food here is horrendous. Hate to give one star review, but it was well earned. Went here for dinner and a few drinks yesterday. Ordered four items and all four were comically bad. Let's start with the nachos. Ordered shareable portion of the Macho Nachos with chili added. Unfortunately, there was nothing macho about them, as they were devoid of jalapeños (would've been nice if kitchen told us that before preparing them). Jalapeños are pretty essential nacho ingredient. Other than that they weren't totally bad. The chili kind of saved them. Got onion rings. Portion was tiny and came with only 5 onion rings. Two of them were tiny. Nothing special..tasted like the freezer onion rings from grocery store. My boyfriend ordered a medium-well burger. He said it was heavily charred and on the weller' side of well-done. The bun was blah too. Fries not bad..they're the big steak fries. The pulled pork sliders were worst thing I've ever been served in a restaurant. They were supposed to come with smoked gouda cheese. They were out of smoked gouda (once again this would've been nice to know before they served it to me). Instead it had about 3 or 4 little strings of shredded mozzarella. See photo below. Haha! But it gets worse. The pork was so old and recooked that there were crunchy inedible pieces that had the texture of plastic. It didn't break down in my mouth. The food menu is tiny ...so very little choices and the few things they have are really bad. Either they need to revamp the food entirely or just drop it outright because it's going to hurt patronage. No excuse for running out of ingredients and not making customer aware. read more

*Review is pertaining to the restaurant portion of The Eagle * I think the bar and bartenders are great. The Eagle has great happy hours. Solid liquor collection plus they feature about 16 draft beers that rotate in and out (always have a few local staples). If I was reviewing just the bar portion of Eagle, it'd get five stars. The basic pub food offerings aren't bad..burgers, wings, sliders, and fish/chips are all pretty good. The one sous chef used to cook amazing french fries, but he's no longer with them so the fries are more standard now. Just wasn't too impressed with the "authentic" German Oktoberfest dinner I had in September. The bartender was raving about their German born chef's Oktoberfest offerings so I went with the chicken schnitzel. It was pitiful. Instead of authentic schnitzel I got three chicken tenders with gravy. They were not flattened or pounded at all... straight up chicken tenders. Wish I took a picture to show just how bad it looked. Taste was unremarkable, but not bad. You can get solid bar food here, but keep it simple and be wary of those "authentic" specials. read more

I was visiting Baltimore from Atlanta for my birthday this past April. I've been to Eagle Bars in other cities, none of them even come close to this one. I had an excellent time! I highly recommend this place. To call it a bar is an understatement. It's more like an adult entertainment complex. It has food service, a very nicely appointed leather shop, an art gallery, and a private function space. I was impressed by how clean the whole bar was, and yes that included the bathrooms!. The other thing that really impressed me was that this was not a "mans only" space. There were several women on security staff and tending bar. It was nice to see a place like this that understood that we now live in the post modern gay world. The service was courteous and efficient. I met one of the owners, who was gregarious and welcoming. I went both Friday and Saturday nights. The guest DJ's were outstanding. The only thing missing was a dance floor! LOL If you are looking for twinks and pretty boys this will not be your cup of tea. However, if you are looking for hot men that look and like men and act like adults; intelligent conversation, then this is the place for you! What more could a guy ask for? read more

The Baltimore Eagle is back and better than ever! After a massive renovation it sits almost twice the size of the old foot print and sprawling with an assortment of different bars and atmospheres. Walking in is a large gorgeous marble topped bar lined by fancy industrial decor. Hot friendly bar staff serving is serving up a great selection of draft beer and cocktails. Flat screens are wall to wall with music videos, classic tv shows, and sports. A DJ booth in the corner rocking the party at later hours. A large glass showcase sits above a lounge where old leather memorabilia from the Eagle past and donated pieces from leather clubs and MC's are on display. Diving deeper into the back where the real men of leather gather your stopped at the door with a requirement of leather gear, sports gear or shirts off. Deep cruisy beats resonate through this dark sexy room. A wall of tires sits center from floor to ceiling, exposed brick walls and metal accents make this the leather bar that the Eagle is. Weekends bring Boot Blacks in for good boot service. Upstairs towards the back is a good size dance floor reminiscent of an old cabaret that will host a wide variety of DJs, drag shows, and anything else queer Baltimore can produce for a nice size stage. Upfront is a leather shop that will carry all the leather and adult goodies you can imagine (yeah, use that imagination!). With an onsite leather worker to make it fit perfectly to you, you can't go wrong. It's something to be seen and experienced. My husband and I visiting my hometown are sadden by the closings of all the gay bars in Baltimore. I don't understand the crime and Rats and Cummings let this city take a nose dive into hell. I lived here all my life. So the Eagle was supposed to be THE bar for the leather crowd it came and went than legally problems than open again. For the sake of everyone in the leather community just shut the door for good. We stopped in on a sunday happy hour and the crowd were just weird, I actually thought it was a bring your own outside food as at lease 3 people had food ordered and delivered to the BAR an ate it sitting at the bar with their drinks. One bar tender was making a make do shot box stabbing it with a knife and sticking test tube shot tubes in the holes and using yellow tape to hold it together. Really sad!!! As he filled the shots with a funnel on the bar in front of everyone spilling it all over as they overflowed. He was selling them too. We understand the bar is for SALE and it s owners should run like heck away from this very poor run bar before they bleed to death from all the money they are spending to keep it open. By the way my husband and I saw RATS and trash but no Cummings I guess he's on VAC. read more

This was a very disappointing experience for my family and I. We went here for the drag brunch and were not impressed at all. We paid $36 each for a brunch that didn't include standard beverages nor alcohol. The food was cold and the selection was very slim. It seemed as if the food was made in someone's kitchen and not a restaurant. On top of that, you are charged an 18% gratuity for the brunch ticket and then ANOTHER gratuity for drinks, which is ridiculous. The food nor drinks were worth that. In terms or the performance, I was expecting more. The singing was not great and the the queens either started off energetic and lost it or lacked energy in general. I also felt like some jokes were directed towards my table because of our race. The hosts weren't really reading the room well with their black jokes. SUNDAY BRUNCH [Queens who brunch] - Meh! I understand this is a new 'venture', [not the bar so much as the Drag Brunch], and we are four 50 something guys [two long-term couples] who attended. This was not our first drag brunch or brunch in general, and yes we are patrons of the Baltimore Eagle, [and will continue to be] which is the reason we chose to attend the $32/per person "Queens who brunch" to celebrate a recent 50th birthday. Would we 'recommend' the drag brunch to friends? Nope - not currently. Let me be clear, we enjoyed the drag show. The two MCs were fun, energized, and the drag performers were entertaining [although, for me as a rule, drag performers should NOT be doing acrobatics in or around the audience, this is just a lawsuit waiting to happen! Save it for the stage.] However, after having enjoyed a number of the new yummy menu items from the new kitchen, the brunch/food buffet was a total disappointment! No really, totally. Boring, monotonous, uninspired, and generally lacked any 'real' flavors or taste, there was no creativity. This coupled with the traditional buffet traps, warm not hot food, empty food trays, meat items with no labels (pork? turkey? beef? tofu?)...not good! Seriously, I do speak from meaningful catering experience, AND I appreciate this is really none of my business, but If as a management team you plan to dedicate time & capital, to grow this part of the business, profitably, you NEED to set it apart [in a good way], by creating a special occasion brunch experience. This will require a special occasion breakfast buffet, attentive (our waiter was not) staff & NO, brunch is not just about the alcohol, [I hear you queens belly aching out there...], whatever we were served in a plastic pitcher was really awful. I would encourage management to visit some of the areas busiest brunch buffets, watch & learn, then return to The Nest and elevate your buffet offerings and the overall brunch experience. You have an opportunity to capture a unique entertainment market. Perhaps offer drag brunch only once a month and make it a dedicated special occasion. The large bar is busy with super attentive bartenders (and watch out for those $5 Long Island Ice Teas!). The spicy ranch and sun-dried tomato dipping sauce was so delicious. I had wine and my friend had beer...decent selection and the prices weren't too bad. I will definitely be coming back. Went here Tuesday night to try it for dinner. Ordered a cola and the bartender says, "Sodas are $3." So I put $4 on the bar. He came back to take my order and I ordered the pizza and asked if it could be made with the pepperoni off. I was told, that of course they could and that each pizza was made as ordered. The menu clearly stated the same. From the menu, "our own personal pizza, made fresh in house. Topped with our own in-house made pizza sauce, delicately covered with cheese and pepperoni." Anyway, the pizza arrived and it was clearly a 99 cent frozen pizza and there were four distinct circles where someone obviously removed the pepperoni. It was pretty insulting to be flatly lied to like that. I would have preferred that he just tell the truth and I would have ordered something else. Also, my friends ordered the steak medium-rare and they were served a cheesesteak sub instead. I thought this place was trying to be inclusive, but I guess not. read more

I absolutely love the Baltimore Eagle. This is easily the best gay bar I have ever been to ... possibly the most beautiful and well kept bar, period. The minute I walked in I was stunned at how clean and tasteful it was ... it was warm, inviting, and immaculate. The bartenders were super friendly and always checked in while being respectful and engaging in just enough conversation. When one of the owners heard that I was from out of town, he came over and greeted me, offering to show me around. I was stunned to see how many rooms and bars they had including a well stocked leather shop and an upstairs entertainment area called the Nest. Parking was surprisingly easy and I felt very safe in the neighborhood. I wish we had someplace like this closer to me. I am definitely going back!!!! Thanks, Chuck! This is not a good review. We ordered steak sandwiches. The rolls came burned. I ordered provolone cheese and it came with cheese whiz. I asked for crispy fries I got burned on the outside and soft on the inside. The jalapeño poppers were definitely pre frozen. Can I say anything good...delivery by grub hub was good. That's about it. I like this place. Of all the main gay bars here, the owners and staff are not racist or problematic like GC or Flavxr. The bartenders are quick and friendly and the decor is very modern. I wish the dancefloor in the Nest was bigger and that they had a consistent hip hop night. But other than that, it's a nice place to go with friends or to meet new people. And it's clean. read more
