Came to check out the casino here. It's three levels with no-smoking allowed. There are plenty of slot machines and a few open table games that are very expensive to play. The music in the casino is so loud that you miss the exciting sounds of the slot machines clinking and dinging. There is a large bar in the front of the casino. The staff is sort of bland. They look bored and tired and seem like they want to go home. If you want to gamble around here, ok, but don't make a trip to do so if it's not that important to you.

Lovely casino! Multiple floors. Nice little setup. They didn't offer any rewards for new user.

SMALLLLL casino, for what I thought would be in Chicago but a casino nonetheless. I came here at the beginning of October so I was able to catch the cute decorations they had for the upcoming holiday. If when I'm back in the city and my hand starts itching, I wouldn't mind returning here - seeing if their food is good.

Not a super huge casino compared to ones you see in Vegas but it's pretty sizable especially when you consider it's in the heart of downtown Chicago. I saw plenty of slot machines and tables. Only casino I've been to where smoking doesn't happen which is a big plus in my eyes. Recommend losing your money here

The only Casino in the Chicago city limits, so it really doesn't have to do much more than exist. It has a few of the new novelty slots, but most of the first floor is devoted to machines you'll see at any casino in the US. Had a mild winning streak my first visit, but wasn't my night on my second visit. Long lines for the redemption machine because the others were broken :/

Clean casino. Decent amount of slots and a bunch of table games. Conveniently located downtown. Fun place if you want to gamble. Just be prepared to give some money away!

I brought my family here who were in town and wanted to do something in the city without being out in the rainy weather. The bathrooms were extremely clean--at least the women's bathroom was; I can't speak for the men's. Clean bathrooms are something I'm always impressed with, especially in busy places like this. It was easy to get right into the experience, which was great. I didn't get to explore the upper level, so I'll definitely be back. One downside is that the complementary drinks offered are only non-alcoholic if you are gaming. Every other casino I've been to provides both complementary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as long as you're actively gaming. This place is conveniently located in the middle of River North with a parking garage right across the street, which is great. Also, if you have a Bally's membership card, they offer complementary parking. It's close to the mall as well as near other eateries. Although it was definitely a hassle getting there since I drove because of traffic.

You definitely have to be a gambler and know what you're doing to win or even play at Bally's. This casino has 3 floors of games, with two of the floors having a bar you can get drinks at. The bartender on the first floor we had (Vinny) was truly awesome. The drinks here are also very expensive for plastic cup drinks, like most casinos. The place overall was busy, kind of cramped, and not the cleanest. For it being relatively new, it seems kind of worn down and outdated. It's very old-school classic casino. We were here in the middle of the day after brunch on a Saturday and it was busier than we thought it would be. This casino definitely brings in an interesting crowd, too. I don't think I'd return, but it was an interesting experience.

The elevators are separated between the top 15 floors and floors 1-28. The room was easy to find, though the listing on the room would be better appreciated as you exit the elevator and not as you turn a corner to realize the tiny print is the room numbers. The room is spacious with a king-size bed, a decent-size bathroom, and a closet with an ironing board and iron. They offer dry cleaning service and a safe that allows the guest to set the pin to lock the safe. A large TV and many rooms have views of skyscrapers. It is quiet at night. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom has an energy-saving function that requires the guest to press the button for 3 seconds to turn on the lights. This was not explained at the desk, nor are there instructions in the room about this feature. The master control and shower head are at opposite ends of the shower, so it's a bit awkward to turn on the water as you move back and forth to get it to your liking. The window, on the 22nd floor, opens enough to allow a breeze through, but only enough for an adult to stick an arm out of the opening. The selection of food options in-house is great, with a very large pantry on the lobby floor. There are no prices for most of the items in the pantry, and it comes as a bit of a sticker shock. It would be nice if all prices were available as consumer-friendly options. The service staff who cleaned the rooms were just amazing. I did not put a sign out for no service, but the staff member on that floor checked on me each day, even when I did place the no-service sign, to ask if I needed towels or anything. Now the operators of this wonderful hotel must know that the area where cabs and cars arrive had such heavy use of marijuana that I think I got a contact high and my first ever case of the munchies. For a hotel that can cost up to 200-300 dollars a night to stay, this was an unexpected experience and one I hope not to repeat should I stay at your hotel again.

There was hair all over my bathroom, and in the adjoining room's bathroom there was visible mold on the ceiling. When we called to report the cleanliness issues, we were told we could move rooms -- but that we would no longer have adjoining rooms, which was the entire reason we booked this setup in the first place. One of the bathrooms had no soap, and it took two calls before it was finally delivered. When we went to get ice, the ice machine on our floor was broken. After notifying the front desk, we were told to "try a different floor," which was not a practical solution while managing a four-year-old. The final issue was the temperature in our room. The heat was stifling -- at one point it reached 76 degrees. When we called, we were told the thermostat switches don't work in the rooms and that we just needed to turn the unit off. They brought up a fan, but we ultimately had to open the patio door for relief. Being in Chicago, that meant significant street noise throughout the night. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and would not stay here again. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because the view was nice and the location near Michigan Avenue is convenient.

Although we grew up in the Chicago suburbs and know the city well, it was our first time staying at the Langham, and it left a strong impression. The most striking aspect was how spacious the room felt. We likely stayed in a Premier Room, which was quite large by city standards. The bed was massive, very comfortable, and just the right firmness. A detail that stands out is the space between the foot of the bed and the wall where the TV was mounted, which makes the room feel open and calm rather than cramped. The décor was elegant without feeling stuffy, highlighted by thoughtful touches like an espresso machine. The bathroom was another highlight: the frosted-glass window offered privacy while maintaining a sense of connection, and the rain shower had excellent water pressure and felt indulgent. The location is fantastic, convenient for work in the Loop, time in Grant Park, shopping on Michigan Avenue, or dining in River North or Fulton Market. During our trip, we ate nearby both nights, which made getting around easy and stress-free. The staff was warm and helpful throughout our stay, and breakfast at the hotel restaurant was memorable, even if the details are a bit hazy now. The lobby is beautiful, and several family members who stayed with us also commented on how much they enjoyed the hotel. At the time, pricing felt mid-range for a luxury hotel in Chicago, offering excellent value. It was summer, likely a less expensive time to visit, but even so, considering the room size, comfort, service, and location, it seemed like money well spent year-round. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We would happily return and are eager to explore other Langham properties worldwide.

The location is only about a 20-minute walk to the convention center, but if it's very cold outside, I would recommend taking an Uber. I just recently stayed there and checked out on Sunday when the East Coast had that major snowstorm and I just want to tell you that the staff went above and beyond expectations to make sure that I was well taken care of and let me explain why. I had scheduled an Uber because I had an early flight from Chicago back to Baltimore and and when I woke up, I seen that my flight was canceled and that they had booked me on another flight going from Chicago to Pittsburgh to Baltimore that again they shut down all air traffic to Baltimore that day due to the heavy snow so I was able to let the front desk. Staff know my situation and they were kind enough to put a soft hold on the room that I was in until I called them from the airport to let them know whether I was able to get a flight or not get a flight. When I got to the airport, I had booked another flight to Pittsburgh and then I rented a vehicle to drive from Pittsburgh to Baltimore in the massive snowstorm. I called the hotel and they were gonna hold the room for me which they did that. I let them know that I was finally able to get a flight out of Chicago and that they were good to go ahead and release the room. It is this kind of service that is very hard to find in today's society that staff are well trained, extremely helpful and very friendly and they want to make sure that we as customers are taking care of to the fullest extent and they went above and beyond the call of duty and I am so very grateful to that staff and hotel. You're not gonna find a better hotel in the area in my humble opinion they have a free breakfast every morning, which is really really nice. Everything is extremely clean and well presented and you can tell they take a lot of pride in this hotel. The lobby area is tastefully decorated, and it gives you a sense of being very calm and relaxed, which I really enjoy after a long day working Folks, I can't speak enough positive about this hotel and staff and I consider it as a hidden gem of hotels in the downtown Chicago area I just wanna say thank you so much to the young gentleman. It was at the front desk on Sunday morning and to the young lady that was there as well for really going beyond the call of duty to help me and to make sure that I did have a place to sleep overnight if I could not get a flight thank you I will not stay anywhere else, but this location because of such outstanding service and how clean it is I look forward to seeing everyone again on my next travel up to Chicago

At the time I thought this was the height of what I in my younger days considered urban chic and expense account luxe...at least until the Great Recession reared its head, ushering in the end of this heady era. More recently, I happened upon the Midland Hotel on an early autumn evening, as I was running early for an event taking place nearby. I opted to stop in for a pregame libation and found myself immediately regretting my choice. The bar setup felt corporate yet seedy at once. It was clear the Old Fashioned I ordered on deal was premixed. While I do not like to badmouth anything having to do with personnel during this post-Covid era, with all of the challenges it has wrought, the service here stood out for its indifference. There were three servers chatting among themselves behind the bar and only a couple of patrons who already had drinks. When I asked for water and subsequently a straw, I was met with a guised eyeroll and "anything else?" Fortunately, I was able to enjoy my drink in peace as I texted my friend where I was, so we could meet up and walk to the event together. It was a tale of two bars, as when my male drinking companion arrived, the server immediately turned on the charm. She also treated me observably more warmly when she noticed that I was accompanied by a man. I'm dismayed, but not shocked, that such retrograde attitudes exist in what is almost 2026 America. In any event, this bar served its purpose as a meeting point, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to revisit.
