We always love the pop-ups at Stolen Saddle (formerly known as Bamboo Club) but this one is SO fun. There's a walk-through Haunted House type experience that you go through, eventually spitting you out on the rooftop where they have the Halloween bar going. There are a bunch more photo ops and displays for you to explore on the rooftop as well. Your admission gets you x-amount of drink tickets based on your package, but all include a welcome jello shot syringe and a bonus drink downstairs. Your main drink tickets get you any of the Halloween-themed special beverages. They're soooo super cute and very in-theme. They even gave us a souvenir cup from the Bamboo Club days to take home as a little extra haha. The vibe up there was really fun and the bartender was amazing. She was super friendly, a good amount of chatty, knowledgeable about the drinks, and just vibing and having a good time. There was a good amount of people in our time slot, not too crowded and just about everyone could find a table to stand at. But there was also enough of a crowd to make the vibe. I would recommend going in the evening for a full spooky experience, though! The one and only problem we had was that it was unclear where to go after the escalators and we went the wrong way. But the bartender was great at redirecting us and making sure we got the full experience! Definitely recommend if you get a chance to go for Halloween!! read more

Apparently because the Cubs were doing so well this year they didn't have time to put nearly as much Halloween decor as is typical out this year. This is a NO STAR review! This place is trash. It literally has 2 hallways and an escalator that was not scary at all! At $35.00 a pop + taxes this included 2 premixed drinks that were literally watered down. I would not recommend anyone goes here until they change their venue. Been to nightmare on Clark st this place is nice the decorations are very cute and scary lol. Wasn't really scared they didn't have a lot of actors wish they did . They gave us drinks with our tickets and cups as well. Food and drinks here was good. Dj was a good vibe! Staff was very friendly gave us shots on the house because of how lit was ,but far as security they suck! While trying to enter back in the bar to get food they pulled me and my cousin from our group we came in with being rude then ask for our ID like when you enter with your ticket they ask for your ID. Came here on a Thursday at 5pm and we were the only ones in the house which I loved since it's more adventurous that way. They only had two people that scared us. My favorite part was the black out at the end where you cannot see a thing. Overall good entertainment a bit steep. I wish it were longer. But my friend said it was just right. Deuces does it again. Known for it's seasonal pop-ups. Nightmare on Clark doesn't disappoint. Sportsbar fully decorated in scary memorabilia from our childhood's worst nightmares. This was opening night of the attached haunted house. We came for the haunted house but didn't end up going in. It was advertised as $10 bucks on Timeout Chicago, when we got there it was $20. So buy ticket in advance and maybe score a cheaper ticket. I wasn't thrilled about the markup. So petty to not go in, but I was over it. Maybe next time. Decor is solid 5 stars. Food options 5 stars. Music is so good here. Crowd is so-so, some drunks a$$ on Molly started to come in after 11pm. Customers service was not as engaging as usual but I think it was because opening night of haunted house, trying to figure out that ebb & flow. Drinks. I got the taffytini and it was too sweet. I wanted more Effen Apple and it was overdone with the carmel liquor. Prices on drinks are kinda unknown. They sell small, med and large with no prices so be prepared for this if you are economical. Check this out and closer to Halloween, come in costume. Definitely could be a fun night. read more

I went into nightmare on Clark Street with almost no expectations after reading some reviews, and hearing about others experiences, but my group and I had a really great time overall! I will say that going at 8 PM on a Thursday night might affect some of this review, but overall I was really impressed that we did not have to wait at all to get in to the haunted house. We did have a few drinks prior to going in and I will say that their themed Halloween drinks were fun, but very sweet overall, so if that's not your thing, I would opt for something different. If you enjoy props, animatronics, fun sets, and overall ambience when it comes to a haunted house, then I think you'll really love nightmare on Clark Street. The amount of time, money, and dedication it took to turn the space into what it was is actually incredible. Every single corner, ceiling, tile, and walkway is adorned with some kind of prop or wall decals that make it feel so immersive. Make sure you take time to look up, and around so you can take everything in. We did also enjoy that there was a bar in the middle of the haunted house. It was a nice break and stopping point. My only complaint is that this whole experience could've been elevated by 1000% if there were more scare actors. I think we counted a total of three throughout the entire haunted house, and with how sprawling and lengthy overall it is to walk through this (we were there for about an hour but I'd you don't stop at the bar maybe like 15 min walkthrough), there could have easily been way more people. Again, we did go on a weekday, so not sure if they are just more staffed on weekends, but really, this was a great experience overall and I truly hope they add more scare actors and we would definitely be interested in coming back to check it out! read more

3.5 We destined here on a very busy weekend before Halloween. My gal pals are Halloween enthusiast me not so much so I was walking around looking like a boss. But the ladies was given. We need to be given all cute and spooky. Deuces as well decorated and many of the staffs are in costumes as well as the patrons. As I understand the upstairs is a haunted house which we did not do basically we were on a bar crawl and this is the second stop of the night. Initially we had a picnic table seats table which we did not like and we're requested to go over to more towards the bar area or it was more intimate and like that better. It was very nicely decorated and near the bar and pretty good customer service. I believe the server was relatively new. He had to keep looking down for the menu to confirm things but it was fine. My order I did the $5 holler dorito nachos my girlfriend and I split the chicken wing basket and Italian beef fries. I definitely do not recommend the Italian beef fries. That were my least favorite, but the dorito nachos was a hit as well as the chicken wings and jerk flavor and our drink. We went with just a single serve beverages and I believe I had an apple martini . It is a timed entry event. We had a blast and commanded all the attention . Fun times read more

The good- Nightmare on Clark Street does a good job of setting up lots of Halloween decor to create a spooky atmosphere. In the Haunted House, they have some great props and animatronics. The bad- Almost everything else. In the entire haunted house, there were two actors, so you are basically walking through a spookily decorated area with no actors or people to interact with. They let a ton of people in at the same time so you are walking through it with huge crowds and that kind of spoils the experience. The "VIP bar" in the haunted house doesn't have tables or chairs so you have to stand and hold your drink if you order one there. The downstairs "spooky bar" doesn't have servers so you have to go up to the extremely crowded non-Halloween bar to order your overpriced Halloween cocktail and carry it back over to the other side. I wouldn't recommend the experience. read more

I came here with my friends on a Thursday around 8 PM and it was so fun! Granted, I'm absolutely terrified of haunted houses/anything horror, so the haunted house experience was torture for me, but my friends that enjoy horror LOVED it! After the first part of the haunted tour, we walked into a bar area where we had their signature whiskey cocktail. It was so so good, and there were even actors dressed in costumes walking around, scaring people, taking pictures, etc. Overall, it was a fun experience. This review is just for the bar / restaurant not the haunted house. I really wanted to come here and see all the decorations because I love Halloween! If I wasn't pregnant with twins I would have definitely done the haunted house. The decor is so cool, above and beyond and definitely put me in the Halloween spirit. I told our lovely waitress I wanted a virgin Halloween cocktail and she brought me a delicious strawberry lemonade decked out with the Halloween candy garnish. It was so cute! To eat we had the pretzel (it's huge I literally took 3 bites but it was so good and soft with yummy dipping sauces) the sliders, buffalo wings and fries. It was good for bar food. Our waitress brought us a complimentary pumpkin spice milkshake at the end of our meal to congratulate us for having just found out our twins are going to be identical, so that was super sweet. Went here on Saturday with my sister and had a great time. I purchased the tickets before reading the reviews. I'm glad I did because if I would have read the reviews, I don't think we would have gone. It was very scary! I literally walked through with my eyes closed half the time so I wouldn't be so jumpy, but still managed to fall on the floor trying to escape lol. Before visiting the haunted house, we had a few appetizers. There was definitely a hiccup with my wings, the manager overheard my issue and took care of it without me ever having to complain. He literally told me he overheard my issue and needed to fix it, I thought he was a regular employee. I literally didn't learn he was the manager until I saw him on WGN news yesterday. My two friends and I spent over 200 dollars at this establishment. The drinks were sub par and and waited over 45 mins for the drinks and another 45 mins for the food we ordered. The service was horrible and then once we paid our friend was asked to leave. We have no idea why, as he had just paid and we saw our waitress exactly two times. But we were told he made her uncomfortable and one of the times she visited the table he was in the restroom. Honestly it is not worth your time. I was left with a bad taste in my mouth when leaving the bar as a brown women (mexican American). I have been in this situation and it's horrible. We decided to check out the bar and haunted house. Parking near by was difficult so i definitely would suggest using spot hero or Uber. The bar was nicely decorated for Halloween. We were sat right next to a door that people were leaving out of so it was quite chilly. the bar menu was typical bar style food we tried the hot wings and steak nachos which was just ok. I purchased VIP tickets. If you don't want to wait in a long line, VIP tickets might be for you. The VIP ticket comes with a drink. The drink was okay. It wasn't strong. It was not worth the price. Over $30 for 10 min. There were only two employees in the haunted house one of which was really bad at being scary. So basically, 9 min and 40 seconds of the 10 min experience are spent alone. They rely on ear piercing air cannons that leave your ears ringing for hours after to scare you. The coolest feature was a little maze but even that was an issue because it's very dark with some pretty harsh flashing lights that really require an epilepsy warning and by that point it's pretty clear that there aren't any employees to scare you in the maze so it's not even scary. Would be decent with some employees that were good at their jobs but still can't be close to worth it for the amount you pay. read more

I was racially profiled the waitress said I made her feel uncomfortable after paying. I was with my gf and her best friend. I only didn't want her to tell them how much the bill was. She said I made her uncomfortable only after paying not before or even during. On hour stay she had came to our table maybe twice. I would like my money back but also am will to take this to court to prove my innocence. It is not right when I would not do such a thing to make anyone uncomfortable or leave any waitress feeling this way. This is abhorrent that someone would say something like this without proving evidence or saying anything when they barley approached our group.
