More time is spent wandering to encounter any type of engagements. I had very high expectations for this as I love to attend immersive experiences. I'm sorry to say that attending this experience fell far short of my expectations. Verse Immersive is located in Block 37 in the former Disney space. I bought a Groupon multipass ticket for two. This includes four immersive/VR "shows" using the headset "like NASA" uses. Verbiage says that reservations are required. Nowhere on my confirmation email, the Verse Immersive website said how to make the reservation. This adds to the confusion because the Groupon voucher says to show your purchase at the venue. I won't go into all of the confusion because it's boring to read. To sum up, lots of people are showing up without reservations, the venue was understaffed (though pleasant), the technology was wonky, the VR headsets just ok, the immersive aspects not very sophisticated. We only did Starwalk: a holographic odyssey and the Unreal Garden. We did not finish the two others, it did not interest us. I'm sorry I dragged my friend to this and I'm sorry we paid for parking. If you ever get the chance to see THE INFINITE, a VR experience with footage from the international Space Station in cooperation with NASA, go! It's mapped out so that you will never bump into anyone or grab someone (like I did -/ my apologies) while wearing a VR headset, and you will get to explore the space station and take a virtual spacewalk. read more

This was fantastic. We went for our mother-son monthly outing (65 & 40 yo). We had a blast. I bought a pass for 2 VIP through Groupon and it was worth every penny (it was a good deal). We did only 2 of the 4 phases, enjoyed it and had lots of fun for 2 hours. With the VIP you get to go in and out so we went for a bite to eat to Atwood, right across the street. By the time we came back we were told we had to wait and since there was only one more hour to closing time we had the choice of having a free renter for the next 2 phases on a different day of our choice. The people working there were fantastic, kind, helpful, and patient. We are looking forward to our next mom-son's date. We booked a "30 minute experience". Our game had 12 levels. Completing the first 4 levels took about 10 minutes. After that, the game shut off and the staff said we'd have to pay more to play the rest of the levels. After the main game we played a mini game. I didn't even get to finish the mini game because my headset ran out of battery. The staff just took my headset and said I was done. Overall about 15 minutes or so of actual gameplay in a "30 minute experience". Additionally, the woman at the front desk was generally rude the entire time. Worst experience ever. Booked for two shows for 12/25 for my dear family visiting me from India . Had the most humiliating experience. First off we were told by the check in person, pointing to my nephew who wears glasses, " he wont be able to see this show as he wears glasses, you need to pick a different show". (Btw: we had searched on their website for this precise info and not found any info telling us that. ) We asked for further clarification on which shows we could or could not see because of the glasses. The check in lady was extremely rude in talking to us. Anyways, we took a seat and waited for our turn. My nephew wanted to use the rest room but we avoided asking the check in lady about the restrooms to avoid more rude interaction with her. The restrooms in the mall were all closed. There was a nice man at verse (i think his name is anthony or robert) who we asked and allowed him to use verse restroom. The check in lady comes to use to get our signatures on sign off on disclosures/damage and goes on rudely to tell my sister that the equipment is very expensive, and if it does not work, do not try to fix it yourself and come to them or the equipment will get damaged and again that it is a very expensive equipment. She was condescending in her delivery tone like we would not know how to handle things and would break them. This is when I told her that she sounds unpleasant in her conversation with us. She got upset and started higher pitch commanding voice telling me that I am making her uncomfortable, and next moment she told us that we could not see the show and she will refund us the money. At this point I told her that instead of apologizing for us not being able to see the show we had come to see, lack of info on website or them apologizing, she is talking rudely and now is manipulating the situation in a punitive manner not allowing us to see the show because I said she was being unpleasant in her communication. I told her that these were guests from out of country that I brought on a holiday to their business to have a good experience, and we had also spent already several hours hanging around in preparation for this show, and parked in downtown that was expensive. At this she got more upset and said i made her uncomfortable, and i was arguing and that we should all step outside. We agreed to step out, but I asked her politely for her name and to speak to her manager. She would not give her name and then told me to step outside and she asked to call the security on me. I reminded her gently that it was my right to know who i was speaking to and to speak to her manager. She said she was the manager and again refused to give me her name, and looked outside her shite to call security on me. At this time i told her that she cant treat us like this. I live in the city, am an educated, well respected professional. And my family one is a lawyer and one a social media influencer and an engineer . She then directed all her comments to my sister who is a guest of mine telling her to have us three step out or she is calling security. My sister told her patiently that all I was doing was asking for her name and why would she not just provide that rather than escalate the issue. The lady went and talked to her two colleagues that we had been arguing and that she told us she will refund us. The gentleman told her that he will handle it. He came to us and talked to us nicely, apologized for our experience and his coworker's behavior. He told us that her name was ebony. He offered us that we could see all the shows, and that even the show we had originally been told could not be seen if you wore glasses, can be seen. We were offered free vouchers to come back another time to see it. He offered to validate our parking card and said it would cost us $ 12.50 to park for entire day at that place (that did not work actually and we paid $45 for parking). He said he would refund but have not yet gotten any email or refund back yet. Ebony had told us that the website guys had been requested several times unsuccessfully to update the website about the show that cant be seen by people wearing glasses and she had no control over that. The gentleman told us that none if that is true. We wasted numerous hours, money, our holiday and precious time with family that had travelled over 24 hrs to see what Chicago is like. Our experience here was amazing! Bought the single pass for Moon Walk for my fiancée for valentine's day because loves all things space and this was such a cool experience for the both of us. Robert and the team were super helpful and had great energy. Robert explained how everything worked and got us very excited to start. I loved how interactive it was and it was amazing to learn so much about space! Being able to look around and see all the stars and planets had us in awe. The thirty minutes does go by fast so we will have to come back again and try the other immersive experiences. Overall, such a great time and I highly recommend!!! read more

We went to the Verses show innPalm Sprolings and we told it wad completely safe and no one has gotten vertigo. On the second movie , Istarted to feel very bad after about a minute. Rem they said they are always watching because this is actually a very small area. My head started spinning. I see the wall from under the helmet and went towards it. I collapsed when I got to the wall. I just slide down into a lump scraping my knee and elbow which start bleeding. I was on the floor onto this video was over. I had no idea of time at this point. She saw me and ran over to help me. She helped me up and we went to a table right out side. The attendant was useless at best. As my wife help me was out the only this she said was " You still have one more game. I sat at the table for 20 plus minutes before I was even ready to start walking to the car. The staff and the parent company don't care. I write a detailed report of the incident and no one cared and never tried to contact me. Disclaimer - this review is not about the immersive experience as I didn't even get to that point. Despite the steep price I decided to go all in and I bought two VIP tickets listed for the 3pm time slot. What is weird is that despite having options for and selecting a specific time slot, nowhere on the ticket or confirmation was my specific time slot mentioned. I should have know this was a red flag. We got there at 3 and were told there was going to be an HOUR wait. Obviously not what I was expecting, so I asked for an explanation. Ultimately, I still don't know why. They explained they only have 20 headsets and they were running behind, and there was 1 large and 2 small parties ahead of us. It didn't quite sound like this was a one off occurrence, more like this is just how it's run and time slots mean nothing. The reason I gave it two stars is because though I didn't get a solid understanding of what/how/why, it seems the staff is at the whim of the the subpar online purchasing logistics just as much as the customers. The staff offered a refund and I promptly took it. Pretty disappointed, I won't even bother to try any of the other immersive experiences based on this. Side note: I swear I saw different details on the website when I was first looking into this, where it gave more description as what is included in the VIP tickets. I recall it saying you get extra time, access to more, and the time slots were guaranteed. Odd that I can't find it anymore. The current website doesn't really have a ton of details. read more

I had the pleasure of going with my partner to see The Unreal Garden on a Sunday afternoon. The art/experience itself was beautiful and unique. It was fun and engaging. I've gone to VR lounges before but I enjoyed this more - it was different. I can't say enough about how lovely the manager and staff were. They made us feel extremely welcome and explained how everything worked for the visit. It was fun and gave me a lot of energy. I think the others who were there also seemed to be really enjoying themselves. The thirty minute ticket flew by too fast. I would recommend this even though the price is a bit steep. not bad but is disappointing. i thought they would take you into a dark room or something, but you just put on this headset/goggles and walk around the main room that isn't perfectly blacked out. the exhibit is augmented reality, which relies on you looking around to "interact" with the thing you do, but it isn't blacked out so the quality goes down. we did the star one which was nice, you got to see the stars and the galaxies and planets, but you get a bit bored. its $30/person for a 30 minute thing, i think its a bit much and probably not for small kids. if you want an augmented reality type experience that uses technology in a cool way, try flyover on navy pier! it's similar pricing for a family and you get to see drone footage of chicago in a motion simulator like "soarin' "at disney world. read more

I was expecting a much better experience. Basically it's putting a headset on and walking around seeing pictures and interacting with them. First, I didn't like that the pictures aren't very clear and second, you are walking around a big dark room with other people worrying about bumping into them. The "experience" is definitely not worth how much is being charged for this. I would say spend your money elsewhere! read more
