Bingo night
Emily S.

So I guess they just got bought out recently and some of the things I loved before have changed but overall I still love it here. The beer selection is big with great pricing and size options. It's nice that there is a large indoor and outdoor space with cornhole and arcade games. I've heard they have food trucks but I personally have never been when there's been one. They do host events like bingo and do live music which is very cool. They also allow dogs INSIDE, which is amazing so you can stay cool! Service has always been quick and friendly, definitely would recommend!

Great atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor areas. Lots of comfy seating options. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got a seltzer and a sour and both were yummy!

Spacious brewery space in historic downtown D with good beer and room to roam. Great place to gather...and food around the corner

Absolutely LOVED our experience at Ballad! 3 of us total came and each ordered flights of 4 beers. My personal faves were the Snickerdoodle and the Fast Mail. We loved the energy, cleanliness, decor, games, and service! We also came on small business Saturday and each received a complementary BB" beer glass. We felt so welcomed with the LGBTQ+ flag hanging and I loved how the women's bathroom had a discreet code that you could use for help if you ever felt endangered by a date or anything. Will definitely be back!

They're brewing excellent beer and they have a super friendly and attentive staff. However, the thing I probably liked the most was the little glimpses of civic responsibility and inclusivity that I noticed. They were handing out coasters advertising a suicide awareness walk, they had a visible pride flag hanging up, and in the ladies room they have signs posted on how they can help if you are in an uncomfortable or unsafe situation on a date. Kudos to them for making fantastic beer and tackling social issues at the same time. Bravo!

A beautiful glass of Balladeer IPA, in the background a pint of Just Pressed.

I've been to Ballad a few times while visiting family in N.C., I love this place. Every visit has provided a laid back, friendly experience and is exactly what I'm looking for. My only complaint is that they're so far from home. The layout of the tasting room is welcoming, spacious and has a warm charm due to the fact that it's an old tobacco warehouse. There is ample room to move about, corn hole games and other types of party games available. I've seen some live music and partaken in some very good food-truck meals. There is ample parking and it is set in the old time industrial district of Danville. Another hit is the outdoor seating area with gas fire pits. The atmosphere is very calm and unpretentious. A definite plus! Can't forget the beers- I love their IPA's and have tasted the Ales- both very tasty, not heavy, extremely drinkable and fresh. Another beer that was great was the cask brewed stout. If I lived 600 miles closer I would be a regular here, great beer and well thought out decorating make this place a winner! Keep up the good work, I hope you're here when I transplant myself to the area. Until then I'll be a frequent visitor- I'll be back in 5 days!

Great experience, open floor plan, open mic, great selection of beer. Can't wait to go back and try a few more of there drafts! Go when they have live music, the atmosphere is wonderful and you won't regret it!!!

Just tried the Kolsh from Wegmans and it was absolutely horrible. Shame because I love a good Kolsh.

Finally checking this place out! Been on the brewery hitlist for a hot min! They've been open 7yrs…read more& I've been tryna make it here for just over 3! Did not disappoint! The vibe is pure microbrewery and I'm so here for it! They are a hybrid brewery/taproom so they have 5-6 of their own beers and a variety of other local/NC breweries, which is great to keep options open while also showcasing in-house brewing! Jeff, the owner & brewer, was behind the bar when I came in and he is the epitome of the foundation of the craft brew scene. All of the in-house beers were fantastic! The quality and beer artistry that went into the beers was evident with each sip! Also, u gotta luv a place that commits to a theme! This one is board sports and from the name to the decor to the beer names, it is ubiquitous and I'm so here for it! The taproom is small yet weirdly spacious...w/bar, table, upstairs, and even patio seating! So come for the beers and stay for the flight boards (as each one is unique)! Beers had: -Vert Ramp Vanilla Cream Ale 5.3% The flavor notes on both the nose & body/finish on this one -Mile Marker 55 Mango Wit 5% Luved that the hint of very distinct mango was on the finish and the wheat/wit was on the front/middle palate! -Morning Sesh Coffee Stout 7% The coffee was prevalent but not overpowering...I could have this beer w/bfast! Made w/Dark Roast Sumatra -Get Barreled BBA Stout 10.1% This is perfection for the abv; no cloying sweetness, u get the toffee/vanilla behind the finish from the barrel-aging but the tannins & malt from the stout -in-barrel come through gorgeously giving u an unsweet BBA stout that holds up to the 10.1% -Shape Shack Passion Fruit Pear Sour 3.4% I usually don't do sours but this one drinks like a prickly pear (fruit) margarita, and I'm not mad about it!

Both were such great options for wanting something on the lighter side! It is a relaxed, laid back, and welcoming environment. I love how you can also bring your own food! All-in-all, good brewery... The beer is respectable; it's not the best craft beer you will find, but for the Martinsville area, it's solid brew (we really liked their DIPA). The brewery is a veteran-owned joint and has a chill vibe... It's small, nicely designed, and has decent service (not great, but not bad). We'll stop back in again when in town.

I met Jake today, he is one of the owners and is an amazing person who is passionate about the quality of beer served. Does everyone really know what craft beer is?? Craft breweries aren't like the macrobreweries churning out billions of gallons of beer in a year. They usually care much more about how their brews taste, and they will take their time making sure that the end result is an adventure. If you haven't checked out a local craft brewery yet, you might be surprised just how creative beers can be. The beers I tried, The Lawn Mower is light American lager that you can drink all day. DA 'RONA is SCUFFLE HILLS take on a Mexican Cerveza. Pairs perfect with a lime. The Big Chair: OMG, this is the clear winner and one of the best beers I have tasted.
