Breathtaking views. Superior service and very good wine. Not to mention you must get a chocolate truffle or two. What was surprising to us was the lack of guest on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We arrived to hear some great live music, sip some wines and enjoy the view. We had the vineyard to ourselves and we enjoyed every minute. We made the drive to Tunnel Creek Vineyards and the views did not disappoint. We all chose to do a wine tasting, you get to choose 7 wines for $20. We really enjoyed the wines. After the tasting we all grabbed a glass to drink outside. We also purchased a bottle of the Petit Verdot to take home. Before you leave make sure you walk or drive down to see the tunnel (you can't do this if a wedding is going on). This winery was worth the trip. read more

This place is absolutely immaculate. It feels like you are at a vineyard in Napa. When you first enter, you're greeted at the tasting room. You can do a wine tasting here or you can grab a glass/bottle and head outdoors to a beautiful seating area. We opted for the wine tasting, which is done right there in the tasting room (standing). The wines are absolutely delicious. My personal fav was the pinot gris. It is a light crisp white wine, perfect for summer days. I did take a glass of this with me and then we headed downstairs and outside to the back. They have a beautiful outdoor space which faces the vineyards. We were there on a Sunday and there was even live music. It was an amazing spot to chill. They do also offer some snacks for purchase as well. We walked down the vines to the lake and it is so pretty. After the wine portion was over, we headed down the road to see the tunnel. (Hence where the the name Tunnel Creek came from) and it was so cool! It was a beautiful place to take some photographs. Definitely check it out! read more

Beautiful views, kind and friendly staff, great wine. Would definitely come back. Sommelier told us they do not produce sweet wines so if you only like something very sweet like Moscato or sweet Riesling, this may not be the winery for you. However, I personally felt they have a nice array that ran the gamut. read more

My first time here and it was exceptional. It's a beautiful venue with truly friendly staff and most importantly, great wine!

Tunnel Creek is a really special place! The grounds are immaculate and the building is gorgeous. The staff are courteous and inviting. The entertainment in the weekends is great fun. As great as everything else is, the wine is the true star of the show. The three reserves...a Meritage, a Sangiovese, and a Chardonnay...are extraordinary offerings that sing on the palate and impress connoisseurs and novices alike. The rest of the wines were great as well, and I especially loved the Petit Verdot and the Sauvignon Blanc. A few small quibbles are the wine glasses and the tastings. For wine this extraordinary, there really should be a premier glass, especially given the price tag of a tasting ($18 for about 6 wines...although you will sometimes get to try more if you ask nicely and they have an open bottle.) That's the other quibble. The tastings are expensive given the limited selection. They'd probably benefit from adding a reserve tasting option for an even larger price tag. Overall, if I lived closer, my wallet would be in serious jeopardy. As it is, Tunnel Creek is well worth an occasional trip to visit and stock up. read more

This is a hidden gem in the backwoods of Roxboro! This is a beautiful winery with gorgeous vineyards, Mountain views, quiet and relaxing from the hustle of city life! My husband and I went here about 45 mins til closing and we were welcomed with open arms and awesome hospitality. The owner was on the grounds and was super nice and gave us a little history of the winery. This is a brand new winery but I see a good future for this place! They are going to be BIG! We wanted to walk around the grounds but with time we weren't able too but we will definitely be back to tour the grounds. Now to the wines, they have a good selection but my favorites were the White Castle white and Rose'. They are both sweet wines but that is what I prefer. I am coming around to liking the Red wines...lol. They have slushee wines and that was pretty tasty too. We bought the $12 wine tasting and we got to taste 8 wines and got to keep our wine glass. The bottle wines prices are reasonable, glass of wine reasonable also. I look forward to coming back here and spending some relaxing and also walking around. Visited over Labor Day weekend while staying on Hyco Lake. Very convenient with great atmosphere and great wine.

We took a spontaneous girls trip to the vineyard for a wine tasting on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Now I'll throw this out there now: on a scale of non-alcoholic drinker to wine connoisseur, I'd say it all tastes the same to me lol. The wines we tasted though were light, crisp and perfect for a summers day. Rhonda did a great job of describing the notes in each one. We got to meet the lovely owners Sharon and Larry who recently established the venue in 2020. You can tell they put a lot of care, love and attention to detail into the space. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome. Not only do they host live music events, they have a beautiful wedding venue right on the property including a helicopter pad. The landscape is well kept and the scenery is gorgeous! It's so peaceful out there you had to take a moment to relish in the serenity. Whether you are looking for a full event space or a day trip, you've got to try out Tunnel Creek. And before you leave make sure you get a wine slushy! It's the perfect way to end the day. read more
