He loves and baby pool! We then went for a walk in the sand on the beach. He wanted to go to the playground and play so that was next. It's nice they have a playground for the older kids and one for the younger kids that's gated in. After he was worn out enough we hit up the concession stand for a quick lunch. Love the fact they had gluten free options and a little bit of everything you can think of snack food wise. We got a cheeseburger and fries and a lemonade. We then ate lunch by the clubhouse and took a walk on the boat docks and up to the tower view area to see the lake better. During our walk we saw a mama duck with 4 babies and a turtle sunbathing! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend taking the kids there if possible!

The kids still enjoy playing in the pool and adventuring around the park. There's lots to see and do. I wish they had the kiddie area when I was a little kid. At least I get to enjoy it with my niece.

Forget it... it's PACKED. That said, it's honestly such a great park. The walking path is a really good, not too short where it feels pointless but not exhausting either. It just has that easy, relaxing vibe. Bathrooms are clean, there's a nice pavilion, and tons of open space for picnics or just letting the kids run wild. There are multiple playgrounds, restrooms, tennis courts, a concert stage, pavilion, pond + paint creek running through, and connection to the paint creek trail in the back. The paint creek trail is especially popular and good for bikers. There are picnic tables and benches galore, many of which are situated overlooking the creek. They allow dogs on leashes, and mine loves swimming after the ducks here. I have not been to any events here recently, but I've heard they have Thursday night concerts in the summer and a big apples & arts festival in the fall. This park is definitely a community staple.

I first started going to this park back when Pokemon Go came out all those years ago. I had no idea what this park was all about until that first day I was playing Pokemon Go and just kept following the path on the game's map and then suddenly I looked up and realized I had walked through all of the park and into downtown...all a stone's throw away from my apartment! That started my long-term love affair with this park. I have so many fond memories in here catching Pokemon, but also coming back here with friends and with my dog for walks, playing on the play structures, glancing at the tennis courts and wondering if I should play a bit, hammocking because there are so many great hammocking trees scattered throughout the park, shopping through ARTS & APPLES, ones of the greatest festivals in metro Detroit, and so much more. This park has something for everyone and is also very accessible right off of Paint Creek Trail as well. Parking around here can be interesting, but now that I no longer live at the apartments directly across the street from this park, I find that parking at the Rochester Hills Public Library in downtown Rochester is my favorite option. There is a path that leads all the way behind the library, along the creek, to Paint Creek Trail, with an offshoot to the Rochester Municipal Park, all just a 5 minute walk from the library! This is truly a wonderful park, for fun with your friends, family, and furry ones, in all four Michigan seasons, and I'll never stop enjoying it! :)

The girls were verbally attacked by an elderly man for having the puppy with them. I've never been a dog owner and the girls missed a sign when they entered the park so they were shocked when the man ran up to them screaming, "What is wrong with you? Why would you bring a dog in here? Are you stupid? Can you not read the sign?!" The girls and the puppy were shocked, scared and confused; they told the man they hadn't seen a sign and were leaving but he kept screaming at them that he was going to call the police and have them ticketed and arrested for breaking the law. I'm absolutely disgusted this would happen, for two girls to be verbally attacked and insulted over an honest mistake is sickening. Back in my day a simple "excuse me young ladies but there is a sign out front stating dogs are not permitted" would have sufficed.

The park is in place and turned out nicely. We now have lots of seating areas, metal orange chairs, concrete seats by the Chess tables and table tennis, some plastic low and laid back chairs closer to Troy as well as integrated wood seats here and there. As far as the seating goes, many if not most of the seating areas aren't super comfortable. The most comfortable spot I could find was just laying on the grass on the hill. The seating areas we still need to be a work in progress. The Hill is in the middle of the park and there's a nice spot to lay back and watch the crowds go by. It's also a nice play area for the kids and to have a little picnic. It is nice to see the Starr fountain back up and running, although it's been very periodic at best this summer. It is a welcome scene with the amount of people starting to utilize the park more and more each week and month. The only thing missing with this new Centennial Commons Park is any IG potential scenery. The old park by the Starr fountain at least had a lineup of trees directly to the fountain that made for a really great picturesque photo opportunity during the winter time. Now it's wide open space and not a lot of ties from one corner to the other.
