Small bleacher for the fans along each baseline
Paul E.

Rating purely as a baseball park, I would give this park above average rating in comparison to other ballparks that are in the Metro Detroit area. This ball diamond is the only playing field in this park where the infield amd the outfield are in good shape. relative to the infield, it is well groomed with a pebble/dirt surface that does not present any issues for bad bounces/ricochets. The outfield is in good shape as well with no bare spots and risks of skips/bad bounces. Relative to other key features, the ball field has a basic backstop with fenced in dugouts to protect the players. What is lacking in this field versus the other higher end fields in the area are covered dugouts, nice dirt infield (no pebbles), larger bleachers for the fans (Bring you own chair ), concession area and lights. In spite of these short comings it is still an above average ball field that your kids should enjoy playing on.

A small neighborhood park with a nice walking path in the woods. There are larger parks in the area but this one is worth the stop if you're driving along John R Road in Troy and want some exercise or a place to relax. I like the shade the trees provide in the warmer months.

Just like the name of the park implies, a park with lots of beautiful tall trees. There is a paved walking trail, disc golf course, 2 play structures, sand volleyball court, baseball diamond, lots of picnic tables and a pavilion. A great place for a picnic on a hot summer day with lots of shade.

I like this park! They have a lot of space for the games, two playgrounds in shades if trees, bbq areas and bathrooms. A little trail to walk around.

Toddler park

Love that this park had a toddler section. Very quiet park on a Sunday morning! There's also a section for bigger kids too. 4 stars because I hate sand

** MY 300th REVIEW! ** This is a seriously awesome park--especially if you have kids. The play structures (one for toddlers and one for bigger kids) are located far enough back off John R that if they happen take off running, you have lots of time to catch them. The play structures are both awesome--the toddler one is on that spongy mat stuff and the big kid one is on sand. Both have multiple slides and walkways and climbing areas. They are very close to one another as well, so if you have kids of different ages, you can park yourself on a picnic table between them and keep an eye on everyone. Speaking of picnic tables, there are a bunch of them, and most of them are under the covered pavilion...though there are a few spread throughout the park (and you can move them where you want them). The only downside to this, of course, is that they are often in different spots when you go there. There are also restrooms at the pavilion. There is a paved walking trail around the entire park, with half of it being wooded and scenic, with many walkways into the adjacent neighborhoods. There are soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, a swingset (with regular swings as well as baby swings), disc golf, and lots of grassy areas to run and play. There is also a good amount of parking. We happen to live in one of the adjacent neighborhoods so this park is a 5-minute walk from our house. This will be the one thing we DESPERATELY miss when we move out of state next month. I should actually have about 50 check-ins here, except this listing is brand new (I always thought about creating it, but just never got around to it). I'm really glad I got to write a review before we left.

Innovation Hills Park

After a long school day, we took the kids to Innovation Hills Park, and they had a blast! The park…read morewasn't too busy, and the kids explored everything, from the playground to the jungle gym. I loved the artificial turf--it keeps the area looking nice year-round. This park has everything--playgrounds, walking trails, a serene area with ducks, and even bathrooms. I'd recommend it to any family looking for a fun day out. Definitely a great spot for outdoor fun!

Let's get this part out of the way - The park itself? Amazing. It is modern, has plenty of options,…read moreis well maintained, and has some great nature paths outside of the playground area. In an area that features many great playgrounds and parks to take your family to, Innovation Hills has always stood out. There is a lack of options for younger children though (no infant swings?). The three stars? One of the new features of this park is the addition of Park Mobile being introduced for the main parking lot. Signs everywhere reminding you that you better have paid your $1.50 an hour! There is of course a free dirt lot across the busy road for your convenience. Or a parking 'annual pass' you can purchase from the Rochester Hills website. Our society struggles with the concept of 'the third place'. Parks and playgrounds are a haven for families and a community builder outside of work and home. What in the world is the motivation behind suddenly charging for parking? 1 - The City of Rochester Hills wants to prioritize park access for its citizens? Charging for parking doesn't keep out non-residents and in fact just causes Rochester Hills citizens to pay more for something they are already paying for. 2 - The park is often extremely crowded so charging for parking may reduce visitor count? If this was the motivation I am confident this strategy is not working. 3 - We want to encourage more families to park in the dirt lot across the street and attempt to cross a highway? I have more faith in humanity than that. Oh, I think I got it! To quote Tim Robinson's sketch 'The Driving Crooner' - "I gotta figure out how to make money on this thing..it's simply TOO GOOD!"
