Extremely Stressful and Unprofessional Experience - Not "Stress-Free" at All!!…read more I had an incredibly stressful and disappointing experience with College Hunks Moving, and I feel compelled to share it so others can make an informed decision. I initially spoke with Shantoya over the phone and provided a full inventory for a one-bedroom move from Fort Lauderdale to Tampa. Based on that information, I was quoted $1,200-$1,600, which I agreed to. I signed the contract and paid my deposit. The day after Thanksgiving, after the contract was signed and my deposit was paid, I received a call saying there was an issue with the quote and that an estimator now needed to come to my apartment to do a full inventory. This process should have happened before any contract was signed or money collected. Instead, I was blindsided while spending time with my family on a holiday, suddenly unsure if the price I agreed to was going to drastically change. To make matters worse, I was told the estimator would come just five days before my scheduled move, leaving me almost no time to make alternative arrangements if the cost changed. I live alone, so I requested a female estimator, and Sherry came to my apartment. She was extremely kind, professional, and empathetic. I showed her my original quote and explained the situation. After completing the inventory, she informed me the new estimate was nearly double what I had originally agreed to. At that point, I was overwhelmed and almost in tears. This was five days before my move, and I was suddenly facing a massive unexpected increase due entirely to mistakes made by College Hunks. Sherry was visibly embarrassed and repeatedly apologized, stating that the situation had been handled very poorly on their end. She even provided me with corporate and local supervisor phone numbers because she felt my estimate and overall experience had been mishandled so badly. I ultimately canceled immediately within the 5-day cancellation window, went with another company, and therefore am entitled to a full refund of my deposit. It has now been over a month, seven calls to corporate, and I have still not received my deposit back. I have been given the runaround repeatedly with no resolution. We also contacted the local supervisor's office, and no one ever called us back to address the issue. The only person who showed genuine care and professionalism throughout this ordeal was Sherry, the estimator. Everyone else failed to take responsibility, correct their mistakes, or offer any form of apology or accountability. College Hunks markets itself as "stress-free," but this experience was the exact opposite. Thankfully, I did not end up using their services, but I was still left to absorb all the stress, uncertainty, and financial inconvenience caused by their errors. Poor communication, poor customer service, and a complete lack of follow-through. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. If I could give 0 stars I would.

I have never written a review on line but I am compelled to do so! I used Five-O Movers five…read moreyears ago, successfully. I asked them to move additional furniture, purchased on Feb. 2, 2016. Lennette said to expect the dining room table by Easter. Not only was there no courtesy call as the date approached, I called Five 0 for a week consecutively. I even went to their business in Jupiter, which appeared dirty and vacated. I had to involve the Jupiter Police Department and ultimately received a cryptic text to expect my furniture in two weeks. Worse, I purchased a glass top table of extraordinary quality and weight. Lennette charged me an extra $150.00 for handling on that piece which I mailed immediately, in February.. She NEVER picked up the table from the consignment shop. It rolled around in the back of True Treasures for two months and became chipped. The texts that ensued from Lennette were incredibly unprofessional. I reminded her that just as she picked up the other pieces immediately after I bought them, having paid extra money for the glass table, it was also expected to be picked up. I did say that picking up the glass was a priority and she should have known better. She also lied outright in stating that she sent two men to pick up the glass initially but needed a third. She texted that I was calling her "dumb." And, she wrote ," I'm not getting your glass!" True Treasures found a replacement glass, albeit of lesser quality and I told her to return to the store, 40 minutes after discovering the chipped table. She said she would pick it up for her next delivery in May! I was furious and she texted, "I will take your stuff off now the truck and leave it for someone else." Eventually the furniture arrived in NJ on April 12, more than two months after I purchased it. When I quizzed the deliverer of the situation, she had the nerve to text me angrily that I had no right to speak to her employee and actually wrote "karma" to me as if I deserved a lesser table. I then had to wait an additional week for a paid receipt to be generated by lennette. I asked for the $150.00 back that she charged me for the original table and she said no. She responded that she did deliver a piece of glass (yes, but nothing of the same quality and offloaded by one guy only). I will now take Lennette and Five O movers to small claims court. I will be asking for the cost of my table, the additional charge for moving the original table and an apportioned amount of the overall moving charge. I will tell you that the experience made me nauseous and I am so disappointed with my new dining room set. NEVER even consider using this company. She is not endorsed by any of the consignment shops, as I asked. Her exhusband is still in the business albeit with a different company name. I would have ended this nightmare and not written this review had she just returned the extra fee for table. How foolish she is...and how foolish I am for working with Five-O movers. I have used Paul for two other small moves. Everything went well with the first two moves…read more Paul told me he would have two guys between 9-11am at the pick up spot. They will call 30min out. I called around 11am and Paul said I told you 9-12. No he didn't! Paul said they would be there soon. I called around 1pm and Paul said they would be there in approx 1 hr. I called over and over again and he didn't answer any of my calls. I left a messages and no return calls. Shame on you!!! I found another company to do the move last minute.
