“Now I can't speak on their breakfast buffet as I never tried it, but the poolside lunch was always great.”

Frida's is one of the very few restaurants that I dined at while staying at The Grand Mayan. Why…read morestay at the resort when you can venture out for an authentic cultural dining experience outside of the hotel? The venue, like the rest of the resort, is elegant, but casual, and very clean. Much more sophisticated than a cantina, every table welcomes their customers with white tablecloths and and wine glasses. Congruent with the ambiance, the servers conduct themselves with polite professionalism and attentiveness. You will definitely be tended to with the utmost care and attention while dining here. The menu offers tacos, enchiladas, and other traditional Mexican delights with a modern twist. I ordered the GARLIC MOJO SHRIMPS, which wasn't bad, but not anything to rave about - queria mas sabor. Perhaps I am just a traditionalist and not a fan of modern Mexican cuisine? I honestly feel like I would have enjoyed the same dish, but richer in flavor, at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant outside of the resort and at a much cheaper price. I guess I paid for the convenience (It was 10:30 PM and it would have taken us some time to leave the resort and go back into town). In sum, if you are at the resort and going to stay in for the night, Frida's is a convenient choice. You will enjoy a relaxing dinner with great service; however, the experience may leave you hambriento de una experiencia mexicana mas autentica o con mas sabor.

We ordered a variety of things. Build your own taco, a shrimp thing and a stuffed pepper (can't…read morerecall the names of those two.). We also got guacamole and queso appetizers. All were pretty good. Service was fast and attentive. The mariachi band started playing about 7:15. Not too loud. Could still have conversations. The band was pretty good too.

Don't miss this one. It's located above some typical souvenir shops…read more We were there at 5pm which we tought would be prime time, however it was pretty empty and quiet. We had a view of the park across the street. The service level is spectacular. Everyone chips in to make things go smoothly. I couldn't turn around and check things out without a staff member asking if I needed something. Very attentive. The food was cooked to perfection. The soft shell crab tacos are fabulous!! Highly recommended. We used them as an appetizer. The octopus plate was outstanding. It was cooked as they say with love. It was not rubbery or tough. I couldn't finish it but wanted to order one for the road. Give them a try!

Hello, We hope you…read morewould consider giving us another opportunity to visit your restaurant and help make this experience right. We dined with you on May 9 under the name Fairchild. There were three of us, and we visited around 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. My seafood risotto appeared spoiled and had a hair in it. My husband's tacos made him feel ill after only one bite, and he had to leave for the restroom immediately. His drink was extremely sweet and seemed to contain little or no alcohol. My drink was incorrect, served only half full, and came without a straw or garnish. Service was also lacking. We had difficulty communicating because no one assisting us spoke English. We poured our own water throughout the meal and were never asked whether we wanted refills or additional drinks. To make matters worse, we were celebrating my daughter's birthday that day, and it was completely overlooked despite our mentioning it. We felt so sick and uncomfortable that we wanted to leave immediately. We attempted to communicate our concerns and explain that we were not feeling well, but we were unable to get assistance due to the language barrier. We will be returning to the area in December and hope you will be willing to make this right. We would appreciate hearing how you can address the issues we experienced and restore our confidence in your restaurant. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.
