We had a good time at Nectar! It's one of the places that's only accessible by cart so we hopped on one and went across the Main Street to check it out. It was fairly crowded when we arrived, but the dinner/show at Joya was starting in like 30 mins so people were fading out slowly. We got some really creative and tasty drinks here including the Xaman (Rum Passion Fruit Drink), Alebrije (Mezcal Cucumer/Lime Drink), IK Habanero Drink (Tequila and Habanero) and a Lychee Martini. The Xaman was my favorite, very tropical tasting and sweet! The Alebrije had a smoky taste to it, and was very fresh. The Lychee Martini was my least favorite.. but I think after having a real lychee in it I've discovered it's not my flavor of choice. We didn't eat here but we smelled a few plates that looked good. We did go during one of the happy hour/live music nights and saw Rollercoasterband MX. the band was great, the guitarist, the bassist was going ham, the drummer was so skilled and the singer hand an incredible range! I just wished the mixed up the genres of music a little more throughout the night. Our friends raved about 2 nights earlier when there was a hip hop vibe but the night we went was all 80s classics like Abba, Sly & the Stones, Michael Jackson etc ... I like those classics but also would have loved to hear what the did other nights too. The demographic was the youngest we've seen on the resort (although still many middle aged people and older) that connected with the music so it was still a fun vibe. Definitely would make the trek to Nectar in the future for another go at this!

Amazing service and great Yucatecan cuisine, make reservations in advance. Good live music during the evenings I believe from 8:30-10p. Opened dining area and outdoor seating available.

I came to Nektar with my family during my stay at Vidanta Riviera Maya. We came on a Saturday night without reservation. The host at the first entrance denied us seating except at the bar or couches which meant we couldn't try the clay pots we had heard so much about. Disappointed, we decided to walk along the restaurant just to check it out, as well as the view of the water. There was another entrance on the other side and the host (a different one) seated us immediately. So uh not really sure what happened there. Otherwise, atmosphere of Nektar was super lively - a live band was playing, people were dancing, there was even a surprise performance on the water nearby. It was quite loud so it was kind of difficult to hear each other at the dinner table. They also didn't really have the most kid-friendly options except maybe a chopped up chicken or shrimp with mashed potatoes and carrots on the side. My sister, 10, was personally not a fan of either. The clay pot definitely stole the show - smoky and heated, it contained large portions of chicken, sausage, cactus, avocado, and more along with a side of tortillas. It was enough to split between 3 people for us. Overall, Nektar was good food and a fun atmosphere but maybe not as well suited for younger children. I think if I had come with friends my age I would've had a blast.

We dined on our way to see Joya and so glad we did! The ambiance was super fun and sitting outside was super enjoyable even when not right on the water/beach. The service was timely as well which was helpful to make the show on time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and said I'd this place were in Dallas we'd all be going regularly! The food was that good- really! They also kept bringing out chips which was nice and helpful because we had a large group of 10. The portions are hefty here so keep that in mind when ordering.

This place was AMAZING!!! The restaurant / bar area area was beautiful and had a super exotic feel to it. The attention to detail that was used decorating this place was very impressive. And after watching the Joya show I now see how it all ties together. The wife and I had a quick snack in the bar area before dinner. The dinner we had at the show was pared with the show. Everything was edible including the menu. Cirque du Soleil out themselves this time. I've never been to a bad show though haha. The show was great, food was perfect and the venue super upscale and we have a delightful experience and if I could give this place a 10 star review I would. My only regret is not having dinner at the restaurant because the food I saw the patrons of the restaurant dining on looked like it was to die for

Great ambiance & the best margaritas we've had. Seth our waiter was outstanding too - and the desserts were tremendous. Go before or after the curque de soleil show

This is a very beautiful and fun place to go for dinner, drinks, and live music. We totally enjoyed the experience. They had a rock band there last night. Loved it. We had drinks to start and they had chips with various dips - yum. The grilled octopus was amazing- shareable. Then the hot stone pot was huge and delicious. Ice cream and sorbet for dessert. Great place!

Fantastic mixed drinks and appetizers. Try the cheese with spicy sausage and flour tortilla. We ate lite because we were headed to dinner at Joya!

The best restaurant and service we have experience in a long time!!! We have been to this resort three times and finally made it to Nektar and the food was amazing. The octopus was so dang good!! We had a mix of entree's at our table and every single item was amazing. Now for our server, Alian, he was the best server we could have ever dreamed of. He was knowledgeable about the menu, kind, above and beyond, and caring. He was attentive to our allergies and made sure we we're always taken care of. He also made my brother's birthday special with an off menu dessert! Overall, best experience at the Vidanta resort thus far. We will 100% be returning'

This is connected to the cirque sol show so I recommend making reservations to go before the show. This place is all around a great place for food nothing was bad to try we have a lot of different appetizers. The shrimp ceviche was my favorite appetizer, also really love the guacamole but the star of this place was the cocktails the were so pretty to look at, tasted amazing!! Another great surprise was the live music Red Shoes *Mexico this trio of ladies was incredible we had such a great time enjoying the food, music & drinks

Was here only for apps and drinks before the cirque show. Had tamales, chips and my daughter had dessert. Everything was very good and fast just as we needed. Staff was very good too. Next time i would skip the apps at the show and just have dinner here and then go to the show.

Chocolate cake filled with chocolate mousse and vanilla ice cream was courtesy of Nektar!. They were awesome!

Nektar made our family dinner unforgettable, food, service, ambience, music.. all was perfect. They also took extreme care with checking temperature, providing hand sanitizer, all employees wore protection throughout our time there and were very cordial. This is our third time here and they never disappoint us!

The Ambiance is amazing especially when going to the show for Joya by circus de Olay. The drinks are the best.

The venue, like the rest of the resort, is elegant, but casual, and very clean. Much more sophisticated than a cantina, every table welcomes their customers with white tablecloths and and wine glasses. Congruent with the ambiance, the servers conduct themselves with polite professionalism and attentiveness. You will definitely be tended to with the utmost care and attention while dining here. The menu offers tacos, enchiladas, and other traditional Mexican delights with a modern twist. I ordered the GARLIC MOJO SHRIMPS, which wasn't bad, but not anything to rave about - queria mas sabor. Perhaps I am just a traditionalist and not a fan of modern Mexican cuisine? I honestly feel like I would have enjoyed the same dish, but richer in flavor, at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant outside of the resort and at a much cheaper price. I guess I paid for the convenience (It was 10:30 PM and it would have taken us some time to leave the resort and go back into town). In sum, if you are at the resort and going to stay in for the night, Frida's is a convenient choice. You will enjoy a relaxing dinner with great service; however, the experience may leave you hambriento de una experiencia mexicana mas autentica o con mas sabor.
