EVERYONE GO TO JEFFREY. NOW. BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT…read more Okay, but seriously - here's my back story. I got the WORST haircut of my life from Bishops Navy Yard in July. I went in with normal-length brown hair, and came out with a pure black bowl cut that made me look like Maya Erskine from Pen15. Literally, more than one person saw my hair and went, "oh. Have you seen Pen15...?" Bishops chopped off my hair so short, I had to grit my teeth and wait until this week to try and do something about it. And thank god I did. I called Capitol Hair Salon and explained my problem. Jeffrey stayed on the phone with me to trouble shoot, and even looped in Blanca. And he promised me he'd figure it out, and scheduled me to see him. When I got there for my appointment, he was AMAZING. Not only did HE diagnose my hair and what Bishops did, he brought over other members of the salon to do it too. He even brought Blanca over, who explained that they couldn't get me to my preferred shade, because they needed to be able to fix my hair first. But they could do it in two sessions, and then gave me a game plan. For the next two hours, the entire salon helped Jeffrey color correct my hair. And they were SO careful with their work. You can tell they're artists who care. Jeffrey and the team genuinely worked magic on my hair. I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH.

After trying for over 3 weeks to get on her schedule for a 2nd color follow up I finally got an appointment. When I sat down we had a discussion and Jessica asked me if i wanted my roots or whole head dyed. Jessica told me on my FIRST visit I'd only have to get my roots touched up moving forward but she has never dyed only my roots. Everytime she has dyed my entire hair. So I asked her why she keeps doing that because it's not what we discussed initially, she said that she has to do that in order to match the color or she can just try to guess the color my ends were and try to match my roots to the ends. I said ok just do the whole head. She immediately said well I only have time to do the roots. I asked her why she gave me an option if she knew she didn't have time then I just immediately agreed to her doing just the roots even though she was going to guess the color. She stepped away for 15mins after combing out my naturally curly hair with a PADDLE brush. When she returned she said she was uncomfortable doing my hair today because our conversation was too much for her- she did almost ALL of the talking, there were no vulgar or derogatory words exchanged, no one yelled or screamed. We literally had a calm flat conversation. She didn't even brush my hair back into the bun it was in when I came in. I had to put it back up myself even tho I came in curly and she combed out all my curls. I stepped outside and came back inside and asked her when she could do my hair and she told me I need to find someone else. I called the salon and asked for the color she just had to have written down at some pint in my multiple appointments with her so I could find someone else to do it since she refused to do my hair- they put me on hold for 18mins then hung up on me. I called for the salon manager of course they put me on hold and hung up on me AGAIN.

I told Bishops Navy Yard before my visit that Bishops South Irvine normally uses toner to color my hair. There's a reason for it. But this Bishops used permanent dye. I decided that it's finally time to make a review of my experience. My appointment was with Eunice. I had done a ton of research about where to trust my hair now that a former stylist of mine stopped cutting hair for a living. She recommended this salon. After reading all the stylists instagrams I decided on Eunice. I arrived on time and was seated in her chair. She had the worst attitude and demeanor as soon as I sat down. She asked me about my hair routine and I told her I used Keratase hair oil as a finishing product and she scoffed at me and said "you put hair oil on dry hair?" like I was some sort of idiot. "Um, yes, this is common," I thought. But I was so shocked I just smiled. Then we were talking about what kind of cut I wanted and I asked her if she had any suggestions and she literally said "no, that is up to you." This woman was literally charging 125 for haircuts and would not give me any suggestions. I totally regretted making this appointment at that point but I thought it was too late, and didn't want to be rude (I think I was the only one). I ended up getting a cut that was fine, and when she blowdried it she made no effort to style it. Simply dried, no real volume, nothing. The whole experience was 45 minutes start to finish. It was a haircut I probably could have gotten for half the price elsewhere without the horrible attitude. When I went to checkout, it is the only hair stylist EVER that I did not tip. 125 for the cut was already too much (and I've paid more for haircuts). I think she charges more now. Perhaps the other stylists here are better but I have no interest in going back to a salon where this type of behavior is ok (based on my reading of reviews, I am not an isolated case).

For those of you who prefer to be styled like a wild tiger (stripes and crooked hair), this place is for you. 2) they push their wannabe ouai (same pronunciation but different product) brand on you to buy for outrageous prices. I need a hair cut, not a Sephora ad in my face. 3) the prices are not commensurate with their skills or products and the customer service is tone deaf e.g., why would I want to let them "fix" my hair when they were the one who created the problem? Unfortunately they refused to give me any refund (aside from the money back they charged me for time not spent) and my chase sapphire credit card was no help to recoup any of the costs. I had to shell out an additional $300 to remedy the unfortunate hair situation they created. Save your money and go somewhere with stylists who know what they're doing.
