CAPPUCCINO +SCONE. I have been here twice for breakfast. Nice creamy cappuccino. For a place that calls itself "the bakery", the scones were just OK, and a bit expensive (3.70 euros EACH). Luckily the clotted cream (whipped butter cream), homemade lemon curd and strawberry jam the scone was served with were delicious. QUICHE+SALAD. Hunking slice of their quiche lorraine was fluffy and creamy, with a buttery pastry crust. The filling included a couple ripe tomatoes and some weird scraps of what should have been bacon. A couple tweaks and this could be really good. The side salad was a nice size and flavor, almost Sicilian with the slices of olives and salty capers, but didn't really pair that well with the quiche. They offer an array of different High Tea options here. Some, which are really just a couple breakfast pastries and tea aren't technically High Tea, but it is nice to a have a selection of HT sizes and sweet/ savory balances. Prices range from 15-27 eros pp.

Went around 8pm on Thursday nite and mostly men were waiting around for their food. Will try the Turkish pizza next. it's worth the wait and the walk. Prices are very inexpensive/budget friendly. They also sell breads and desserts but most of it was sold out. The two guys are very nice And work really hard. There's an XL Albert Heiin market on the way. Located In the zeeheldenkwartier. Luckily for long-term visitors, there's always the more affordable options in the form of Doner Kebabs, Lekkerbek, and Surinamese cuisine; I'm willing to bet that there may be better options somewhere in the Hague, but you won't find anywhere that beats Bakkerij Maxima in terms of cost performance on the new and upcoming Hendrikstraat. Maxima offers all the suspect Bakkerij essentials including your choice of broodje or durum doner (chicken or veal), and also falafel for those engaged in more animal-conscious diets. They also sell a wide range of Turkish pastries both savory and sweet; alongside some of your favorite flavored yogurt drinks from Asia Minor. My recommendation is either the broodje kip with the works + hot sauce, or if you like the durum better, I'd go with kaaf without the hot sauce. Unless you're vegetarian and absolutely have to eat here because all your other buddies are eating too, I wouldn't order the falafel; they take it out of a freezer and it comes out a little soggy even after a thorough frying. All the workers here are impeccably polite and very accommodating of non-Dutch speakers too, if that will assuage your decision in anyway.
