After a pleasant conversation as to why I was there and the symptoms I was experiencing, Dr. Cohen listened attentively and followed up with some probing questions. I then transitioned into a separate room where Dr. and staff performed a very easy and quick multi-dimensional CT scan of my nasal cavity/passages. Within a few minutes, Dr. was back in the exam room explaining in great detail what my issues happen to be using the CT image as a visual. Straight forward diagnosis and easy to follow along while Dr. speaks to me and the image. Dr. offered a few different options for me and recommended an easy, effective in-office procedure that should clear up my decades old symptoms for good. I will have Dr. Cohen perform this quick procedure on me in a few weeks and I look forward to breathing clearly for the first time in many, many years. I have Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) Type 2 and extensive allergies to food. He prescribed Cinryze infusions every four days and I feel good as new. I have not had a bad experience with the front desk but it's obvious they are slammed so you just have to push and follow through on your own which isn't a big deal to me. Even for a child receiving care, I think it may present a notable magnitude of difficulty to consistently return to clinic. The limited hours at this clinic make it quite difficult to receive allergy shots regularly, only being open during weekdays as above: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. In my mind, this absolutely makes sense for the availability of the physician onsite for consultations or follow-ups, but for the clinic as a whole failing to be more available to simply administer repeat allergy injections, I'm struggling to understand. The care I received was fine, and all the clinicians are pleasant. The physician was swift with the consult, the nurses are quick with administration of treatment, and the front-desk gets the job done. It's worth noting that after an initial consultation and plan to start allergy shots, the shots won't be ready for a significant amount of time. I believe mine were not available until around 5-6 months after my consult. I hope to work out a solution, since I have already paid for the entirety of allergy shots but began working full-time shortly after my treatment was approved. I'll provide an update if we can come to a resolution.
