Came in to try a babka for breakfast and was so tempted by the challah bread and savory pastries but decided that I wouldn't have the stomach space for more food and just grabbed a chocolate babka to try the classic. It was absolutely delicious and I loved how rich and chocolatey the bread is without being too too sweet. The chocolate is spread throughout the braided sweetened bread and the edges are actually a bit toasted for a textural difference. It was so yummy I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors. The chocolate banana pecan looks super good as well!

My order: Iced mocha with oatmilk and my mom got a spinach boureka! The Review: Bakey is always fantastic and this location is no exception. This brought me back to my gluten days. Although there were zero gluten free options for me, I was able to show my mom one of the delectable delights of Cambridge. She absolutely loved her boureka. I got the iced mocha; I think they used the baking chocolate and it was SO good. My hot take--if your business specializes in flour, it's okay that there's no gluten-free! For gluten free options, Verveine in Central square is walkable.

They aren't able to toast the bagel as the sandwich was preassembled, although come to think of it not sure if they toast the bagel if asked separate, will need to find out. But once I started eating it I see why, that challah bagel is so soft, fluffy, easy to chew, doesn't need to really be toasted. The ice tea was good as well. Can't wait to try more.

Having been to tons of bakeries, coffee shops serving pastries, patisseries, etc where I travel to, this place peaked my interest; especially when it was featured on Instagram The whiff of fresh baked goods greets you. The place is bright, modern, clean with lots of seating. Cute touch is an "Oven On" sign . I guess they specialize in babka so they served strawberry babka and raspberry babka. My daughter and I shared the latter. The texture was good, not dry but there was an aftertaste that I wasn't sure what it was, whether from the dough itself or the glaze. There were other pastries but not so much variety. My daughter ordered the spinach and feta pastry. She said it was good. I like their beverages better. Their cold dirty chai with whole milk and extra shot of espresso was good! Service was a 5.

The almond babka is absolutely amazing and is one of my favorite pastries in Boston! Sandwiches are fine but the pastries are what I would visit for. Service is efficient and this location is very clean. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!

There are things to like here - they actually have a restroom that you don't need to grab a key for, and I enjoyed the coffee that I ordered. I also appreciated that there was seating and you weren't rushed out. However, the babka, while they were okay as a breakfast treat, they weren't something I would make an extra effort to order.

Great customer service and selection of both sweet and savory treats/pastries. A much welcome edition to the Kendall Square area.

I thought everything was pretty yummy! The service was fine, and the line moved very fast. I liked the goat cheese, but found the pastry overall to be a little bland. The almond babka was delicious but very wet and heavy. This is a pretty casual spot, with outdoor seating nearby too!

We went to Bakey for a bagel, which was fine, but the pumpkin babka was out of this world!!! This isn't your typical dry pre-made babka, it's something truly special. So moist, flavorful, and amazing in every way. Perfect texture! I would absolutely recommend trying one...or two....or ten! Life changing

Went here for their grand opening day! It was a super good experience. I was immediately greeted by people working here, and offered to try chocolate babka samples. The babka tastes great, it was soft, warm with plenty of chocolate fillings. I also tried their bagel ---it is definitely a non-traditional bagel, more with a challah texture, soft, fluffy, and eggy. I would not ask them to toast it but just warm up with microwave, since it's more of a bread experience (and I enjoyed it!) There are several larger tables decorated with fresh bouquets for group to hang out, and small tables for individuals to work. I studied here for a bit, and it was a decent time. It's next to the subway station, so lots of people come and go. I definitely recommend coming to try their babkas!

    The bagel was burnt.

This is my second experience at this coffee shop. The woman at the counter who was making the coffee had a very unpleasant attitude (her attitude was noticeably different towards me, a Chinese person, and the American person behind me). Also, the hot coffee I bought today was cold, and the bagel was burnt. As a business that is open to the public, I hope you treat all your customers equally.

The spot is known for their Persian spin on great classics, and many of the typical French offerings. I got to try their pistachio croissant and a black sesame latte. Both were very good. The croissant was excellent; dough was perfect, not overly sweet. Tons of pistachio on the inside. It's topped with a hefty amount of what tastes a bit like cream cheese (but it's probably something else, that's just what it reminds me of). Highly recommend trying it. The black sesame latte came recommended by the staff member. Also very good, nice unique flavor and made with in house syrup! I will say though, it was a little bit gritty as you got to the end of the latte. Theres also an area to sit outside and inside. All in all, an amazing spot that I'd love to visit again!

But the true jewel of La Saison is the Kuku Sabzi on Sea Salt Focaccia. It is unbelievably good. What makes La Saison even more special are the owners, Sarah and Soheil. Nowhere to sit, so another challenge. Good selection of croissants and croissant-adjacent items like caneles and pain swisse. Friendly staff; no pretension. My first visit in well over a year on a late weekday morning tried a troika of chocolate-themed items. -- Chocolate Croissant: Not warm (and I wouldn't expect that past 9am), but very fresh feel, very slight greasiness on the bottom, plenty of flakiness on top, and decent fluffiness inside. A good bite, yielding plenty of croissant shrapnel, a light but pleasant buttery taste, and just the right amount of chocolate. A winner. -- Pain Swisse: This varied from others I've had, not having the typical stringiness around the perimeter that feels like raw pasta to the bite, but that was a plus. The bigger noticeable divergence was a much-lighter-than-typical custard presence inside, deferring to the dominant, high quality dark chocolate. The dough around it had good flavor and a nice light crunch, so whether central casting Pain Swisse or not, this satisfied. -- Chocolate Chip Cookie: An unusual rendition, with a dough darker than typical and also boasting some red tint hinting at red velvet. Soft, deliciously rich, and buttery, with the chocolate having a nice melt to it even late in the morning. Salt added some contrast without going overboard as some do. -- Coffee: High in temperature, acidity, viscosity, and flavor. A good match for their baked goods. Overall, still living up to the promise of the first visit, and taking some license with the classic recipes is fine by me with their high level of execution.

My husband and I got a latte and a cappuccino, and a pistachio cannoli to split. Both drinks were perfect, hot but not scalded, with robust espresso flavor. The cannoli, as expected, was fantastic. Yes, it's big. Yes, the toppings are only on the ends (but you can eat it strategically to make the toppings last through most of the experience). Maybe I have too much of a sweet tooth but unlike a lot of reviewers I did not find it to be TOO sweet, just the right amount paired with a bitter coffee beverage and split between two people. I've never had a cannoli for breakfast before, but darn if it wasn't a highlight of the trip.
