I asked for it like I usually do to sub almond or oat milk because they offer it for literally every other coffee, and this was the first time I was shut down and told no. I explained they've been able to accommodate it several visits in the past, and the guy smiled and said "sorry." He said he'd have to ask the boss next time, and suggested I get the tiramisu latte instead. I really did not like the tiramisu latte, it almost tasted chalk-y and bitter, had absolutely no sweetness to it. For coming to this place pretty often and recommending it to so many friends... I'm pretty let down. It made me not really want to come back unless I will really be in the mood for one of their pastries. While the presentation was nice, the filling was barely there--more bread than anything else, which made it dry and lacking in flavor. For the price, I expected a lot more substance. I ordered the noodle soup with: chicken broth, very flavorful, served very hot; beef stew, very flavorful, but very chewy; udon noodles, the fattest noodles, which I like, prepared just right, not overcooked. Since this is supposed to be a dim sum place, I ordered some pork buns, a little bit expensive, $7.99 for three buns. They taste OK but nothing to write home about. The bun part of it was too floury, the pork flavor just ok. I've eaten much better pork buns in Flushing, Queens, NY The decor is very modern and light. This is more a daytime place. We normally frequent the Colonial Drive location but we wanted to try the newer location instead. It's beautiful and very spacious inside. We arrived around 7:15pm, they close at 9pm. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. Ordered 2 Shanghai Dumplings and a 1908 Noodle Bowl, also two tea drinks and two buns. Drinks arrived first, then the soup arrived next, and dumplings last. Drinks were amazing (as they are normally), however the soup did not taste like it did normally. Still, I ate the dumplings which tasted just fine. The soup and noodles however were completely lacking any taste. Because of food allergies, I couldn't have my partner taste it (shellfish allergy) to confirm but it definitely had no taste. I proceeded to taste the dumplings he ordered... just cooking oil. It was really weird. We figured that it was maybe us or something. I had another dumpling and he did too but it was just oil. Finally I resigned to the idea that we couldn't eat the food which was really upsetting to us since we love everything we've ordered at the Colonial location. I did ask to speak with a manager and told them that we couldn't finish our meals for these reasons. I apologized profusely because I do not like ever returning food, I will eat something I don't like but this just was not edible. Maybe it was an off night, idk. The manager was extremely understanding and refunded us for the meals. And I made sure it was just for the dumplings and soup bowl being that we drank the teas and ate the buns we got. This is a new location from the one that originally opened on Colonial Dr. near downtown Orlando. The front entrance is right next to a very big souvenirs store. Considerable free parking space on the side and back area. When you walk in, you have the option of self serving or you also have a kiosk where you can order from as well. I preferred to self-serve. There are trays and tongs you can grab before going to the bakery display cases. There is a multitude of options available, from cookies to breads, to desserts on the display cases. I was craving some breakfast bread to have with coffee. Picked 3 options that came out to be about $11-$12 total, and regretted not getting more once I got home. The bread is so fluffy and airy. My favorite was the cheese bread, but none disappointed. There is plenty of seating tables inside and just a few patio style chairs outside for a small group. read more

I also had the spring rolls and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and both were flavorful. My friend had the pho bowl and the boa buns. Both of which we enjoyed. The buns had large pieces of pork in it. I loved the downtown Orlando location, and I enjoy this one a lot too. The breads are so good and when I get home I love to reheat them in an air fryer. The drinks there, however, aren't very good for a cafe, and seem overpriced for the low quality. The parking situation is also difficult, as there's always a lot of people, and never enough spots to accommodate. We ended up getting some drinks and pastries, we got a brown sugar milk tea and a taro milk tea. Both delicious! We got a pistachio pastry, taro pastry, and strawberry cloud cookies. The cookies were so good! Definitely on the sweet side so one or two is enough for me. The taro pastry was really good s well. The pistachio was okay, it was light and fluffy however it definitely was too salty for my taste. Wasn't expecting it to be a more salty pastry than sweet. I have been looking forward to this brand new location of Bakery 1908, and I'm happy to report it doesn't disappoint! It's a huge and inviting space where you can relax and enjoy for hours if you wish. The bakery portion has an extensive selection and I look forward to coming back to try more. Pictured below is the coffee bun, lemon bun, and the cinnamon blueberry cinnamon roll. I loved all three, but the lemon bun really stood out to me. Fair warning, if you aren't as big of a fan of bean textures the coffee bun might not be your favorite. The drinks pictured are the strawberry latte and the citrus soda with boba. Both were so good! The boba was especially soft and the latte uses strawberry milk which really makes it stand out. We also got the Taiwanese chicken which was a super generous and shareable portion. It resembles the light crunch of a chicken karage. As far as the service goes, all of the waiters were very nice and I liked that it had so many self service elements. We went there today, it's just a hype on their hot food. We ordered their famous siumai, pork dumplings both not so good at all! I asked for karage (fried chicken). I thought it's only chicken but I was given the squid (fried squid). First it's tough and too greasy. I wasn't given the choice. My husband wants to try some noodles and was recommended beef braised as protein, ramen noodles and was recommended soup type: tonkatsu, too far from tasting tonkatsu. It was a waste of food. I'm so happy to be able to find a good Asian bakery near the Disney World area. I love their bakery 1908 milk tea and the green milk tea. I'm from Taiwan and I've been missing the milk teas that taste like they're from back home and this place is the only place around the Orlando area that I found tastes this good. You can actually taste the herbal essence to each of their teas. The Asian breads are delicious as well. Can't say enough good things.
