I walked in and was memorized with all the pastries that was freshly made. I would want to go back and definitely try them next time. I got a turkey panini. Cheese didn't come with it. It came with artichoke. The sandwich was ok. Id give it 7 out of 10. Slightly overpriced. Id just come back for the pastries. read more

I'm giving this place five stars based purely on the cupcakes my mom got me for my birthday a few years ago. They were the size of softballs and melted in my mouth. The cake was rich and the icing...oh my goodness, the icing. It took three of us to finish one cupcake. I've also had Baker Street wedding cakes...oh my. When I get married, I might need one of their cakes just for myself! Simply the best. I've only been in actual cafe once, and that was just to get a takeout coffee drink. Ok, I'll preface this review by saying we stopped in during the Scarecrow Festival because it was HOT and not really digging street vendor food on a hot day at 1 in the afternoon. Service was definitely not with a smile. I felt I was interrupting her by ordering even though they had a different crew outside taking care of street fare. Quiche was lacking flavor and cold. The other offering of my lunch mate was a bowl of mashed potatoes.. yes, not very exciting. Desserts looked scrumptious. There was a ton to choose from. Ok first I want to review my experience with them for my wedding cake. The cake was AMAZING. Seriously some of the best cake I've ever had, and many of my guests said so, too. The owner worked really well with me to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and was very helpful in making selections about the type and quantity of cake that would be appropriate for my event. She is extremely knowledgeable about baking and it shows. We also got to do a cake tasting for free, which was really fun and the owner kind of walked us through all the cakes - seriously a very professional baker. If you are looking for a wedding cake, or any cake really, definitely give Baker Street a shot, you will not be disappointed! Now, the only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because I've also been in a couple times to get coffee or something and was not super impressed. The coffee is good, but the staff is sub-par, to say the least. They were pretty rude to me and my family and it seemed like anything we asked for was an inconvenience. I also received an iced latte that actually had coffee grounds in the bottom... Overall, a five-star place for cake. As far as stopping in for lunch or a cafe drink, I would give it a shot - it is a really cool place, lots of artwork and such - but know that the employees will probably not be very friendly. read more

Baker Street is a nice little cafe that offers the atmosphere of an old fashioned bakery and a modern coffee bar. Their baked goods are legendary in Dixon, and their coffee selection is certainly a nice break from the ones offered at a diner or a gas station. That said, their service needs a little upgrade to keep up with Dixon's "small town" charm. On the one occasion that I've dined in with friends who were out of towners, the servers acted like they were doing us a favor by handing us our orders. My friends were disappointed especially since I built up the place to be this great bakery/cafe. Still, they do have tasty pies. read more

I came to Baker Street today for a meeting with a friend, and it was a great place to spend a couple of hours. The coffee was good and it was relatively inexpensive to get a bottomless cup. I had a muffin that was only so-so but there were lots of other baked goods that looked tempting, plus a whole panini menu. The atmosphere was great and the service, very friendly. Best coffee in Dixon. A wonderful cafe and bakery with delicious sandwiches and salads. The atmosphere I'd call artsy and modern. Nice lounge area with soft seats for doing work on a computer or tablet ( free wifi) or reading the newspaper over a cup of coffee. The menu is written on big boards and is quite extensive. This place has pretty good food but the coffee is always terrible, and like the others have said the staff is more often then not very rude. I've lived in town my whole life and I've only been here two or three times. Every time I am disappointed. If you want a quick snack, you may want to stop here. If you are looking for a decent cup of coffee go across the street to Books on First. read more

We can always find delicious food at Baker's Street. And everything is so fresh. It is our go to place when we want something special. The only problem is while you wait for your food to be made, you look at all the scrumptious dessert that are in the case and on the counter and want a piece of each!!! Baker Street is a relatively inexpensive place to come in for a light breakfast and lunch and good coffee. I had an egg and cheese croissant sandwich and it was pretty good. They had cashew(!) milk for my latte so just for that it deserves four stars. The coffee was strong so it was perfect. The place has a homey feel and not bad aesthetics. Open early and there were a couple of locals having coffee and complaining about whatever so you know it's a comfortable place to be. read more

This is one of the few good places to eat in this town.There menu has bagels and homemade cream cheese. Gourmet coffee that is ground on the premises from a 100 year old grinder. All the pies, cakes, cheesecake ,cookies, pasta salads, soups, scones, muffins are made from scratch. The cinnamon rolls are the best I have ever had ! They serve homemade lunch specials everyday. Some I have had were Chicken Penne with artichoke and a salad , grilled cheese with tomatoe basil soup, lasagna and they were all excellent! The atmosphere is nice and many locals go there to visit and sip there coffee. There is music played in the background and is a nice place to go and have excellent comfort food, that is homemade. read more

Ordered Pumpkin and apple Looked pleasing to the eye but pumpkin was not done at all, tasted awful not sure what they did or didnt do but no t good.
