Dive bar in the truest sense…read more Sunset is the local haunt for my mom on lotto night. I went with her on the latest jaunt. I can guarantee I would have been miserable at this bar without an indoor smoking ban, but with a ban, the place was very enjoyable. Inexpensive drinks, bunch of locals, and a jukebox playing classic rock. I enjoyed my trip much more since my mom was buying and I saw some people I had known from childhood. Good times to be had by all.

If hole in the wall dive bars are your thing than this gets 5 stars. If you want to have a drink in…read morea place and you're very particular about the cleanliness of your surroundings than you might give this a 1 star review. I'm not saying it is a dirty place, but it certainly appears that way. The ceiling tiles I suspect were installed sometime in the '80s as it looks a little bit newer than the dark wood paneling on the walls, both of which showcase an authentic patina and give you that "If I sit anywhere I'm probably going to stick to it." feeling. The men's room is the second cleanest place you can be, that is until a few locals get well lubricated and ignore common bathroom etiquette and from what it looked like, several blind men operating fire hoses had ventured in the men's room before me. The women's room was much nicer...it's as if there is an unspoken ban on blind men with firehoses in their bathroom. It was a lively place on a Wednesday night with the hardworking folks packing the place with laughs, darts and familiar vulgarities being shared amongst the patrons. Having not stayed long enough to know it may be unfair to call it a sausage fest, who knows, an entire squad of women looking for middle to upper middle aged out of shape drunk men could have showed up just after I left.... The beer was cold and when I got my check I had to ask the bartender if it was correct, several pints had been poured between two people and the tab barely nosed over $13. So there's apparently a pretty sweet draft special being offered on Wednesday!!! The service was especially efficient. So efficient in fact, that at one point I witnessed a patron walk behind the bar to fill up a pitcher for someone else. So if the bartender is getting behind, no worries, your fellow man has your back! There is also an odd array of dollar bills crudely stuck together in a collage of green bills and black marker scribbled names affixed behind the bar. I quite literally have no clue what That is about but next time I come in I may just have to pay the dollar to have my name permanently added to this oddity of a landmark. On your way out don't forget to grab some package from the LIQUOR STORE THAT IS HOOKED DIRECTLY TO THE BAR!!! The only thing that could make this place better is if they had a drive through window! Is this place for everybody? Likely not, but if you want a place to go to hang your hat and chat with some friendly fun loving folks, this is the place for you!

I think the bartender's name was Greg? Or Craig. He saw me sitting there because he looked at me several times and looked at my paper to sign saying I had been there. He literally purposely ignored me. Another person who I believe was a regular asked if he could get me a drink, and he was rude to her. He said with an attitude "yeah in a minute". Really? Okay so he came and asked what I wanted. I ordered a midori sour. I watched him make it. This asshole purposely screwed it up. He filled it mostly with sweet and sour and not even a half ounce of oj. It's supposed to be an ounce of midori or (however much you need for a larger cup), half oj and half sweet and sour. Make sure it is well balanced. I'm sure he was pissed to wait on me and make me drink with the bad attitude he gave me. Then I gave him money for the cost I have spent at other bars for this drink and he said that's not enough. Comes back and says it's $6.75. What?! This is not a top shelf long island! So I gave him the money and took the change. If you want to act like I'm an inconvenience to wait on then it's going to be an inconvenience to tip you. When was such a asshole to me and the other lady I will never be back. If it's on my next bar crawl I will skip it. I'm not going to get treated so poorly by them. The lady was nice, but was very busy. I also suggest having bartenders who are actually quick for these events. There are buses full of people. Snap snap Greg...

I stopped in for a half pint of Hennessy and was refused service because the person I was with did not have their ID (but I did). I explained to the clerk that I was the one purchasing the alcohol and he continued to refuse, claiming that because the person I was with did not have his ID, he would not sell to me. I noticed another clerk behind the desk and she was extremely kind and helpful, but Chris, the person who was refusing service, kept talking over her and saying the law says we both need an ID (it doesn't). I told him that it was unfair and discriminatory to refuse to sell to someone who has a valid ID & he said "you know what? yeah, it's because i'm racist" and laughed as if he was being sarcastic. However, his comment was extremely hurtful and damaging. I asked Chris to speak to someone in charge and he told me he was the boss at Liquor N Wine. After leaving, I called the store and asked to speak to a manager, to which whoever answered the phone replied that the person in charge would not be in until Monday (this incident happened on Saturday, 2/28/26). I felt very hurt and attacked by his derogatory comments. After his comment, I left the store in disbelief and nearly in tears. I ask that whoever is in charge addresses this issue immediately and properly handles Chris' feelings and attitudes towards Hispanic people. I would hate to have to report this incident to the Attorney General's office because I truly like the store and the rest of the workers. Chris should not be allowed to continue to discriminate and ruin the reputation of Liquor N Wine.
