The tasting room is small and quaint. Didn't realize reservations are recommended at the Clinton site. We do enjoy several of their wines and their charcuterie tray is a nice addition to enjoy with your wine out on the deck.

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE WINERY! I am not a big red wine fan, I prefer white wine but at wide river, I love their sweet red wines!! My favorites are the sweet justice and pursuit of happiness!! They have tastings, a very nice patio section, and a trail that you can take that leads to their field of grapes and bluff trail where they have picnic tables and a beautiful view of the water! Inside they do sell bottles of wine, cheese plates, wine slushees! The bathroom is nice and clean and the staff are so friendly! I always buy a few bottles before leaving - can't wait to be back for more.

A true gem. Tried all the reds and 3 whites. Each of the were very good. The staff was busy but extraordinarily friendly. If you are near one of their locations make sure to stop.

A pretty drive up a windy road and about 1 mile or a little more of gravel off the highway with views of bluffs, trees and the river. I had a great glass of Cabernet and a really good cheese and meat tray from their outdoor deck overlooking the river. Fun trip there!

Wide River is awesome!!! Let's start with the wines, playful red and white varietals including blends with grapes grown on site dance on your palette. As a Midwesterner, exploring our regions wine capabilities is always a treat and WR rises above. Highly decorated and awarded, these wines provide something for every taste. With 4 Iowa locations for tastings, each visually beautiful, you won't be disappointed. However, if you get the chance to visit the main location in Clinton, it's like drinking wine in a treehouse, beautiful!!! Plus the staff is always incredibly friendly. A stop at one of the locations is always on our itinerary when visiting family in the Quad Cities and if you stop in, you'll learn why for yourself.

Drive up a winding dirt road to find this secret wine oasis. This is now my MOST favorite place to visit in Clinton. There is a GREAT view of the Mississippi, there is ample supplies of wine, AND the owners encourage their patrons to pack a sack lunch to enjoy. Name of each wine is very creative. They allow six complementary tastings per person. Bottles can be purchased and consumed while at the winery. Only draw back is the lack of food. There are some chips and salsa out to cleanse your palate but it would be nice to have a generous cheese platter to graze off of as well. Apparently they do hold special occasions that allow food vendors on premise to serve up tasty treats to patrons. They also have another location in Le Claire, IA. This is a young outfit. They have many hopes, dreams, and goals for this winery. I highly recommend checkin' this place out.

This is a great spot to try some local wines. The views are spectacular! The winery is on top of the bluff overlooking the river. There is an outdoor deck and a nice bar too. I really enjoyed "Not Guilty" wine. They have three raspberry blends too. I will take some home to enjoy.

We were visiting from California and found this winery by searching through Yelp and Facebook. We had it on our itinerary as one of the places we must visit while in Iowa. Although I am not much of a wine connoisseur, my fiancé loves the stuff and she was pretty impressed with their selection. It's a smaller winery that is located off a dirt road. If you are not familiar with the area, you may think you are lost, but just follow the winery signs and you will be ok. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the winery wasn't crowded at all. We were greeted right away and within minutes we were enjoying our first wine sample. The wine tasting is complimentary, but you do have to pay for the glass if you want to keep it. It's not a cheap looking glass either so it's worth every dollar. My fiancé probably tasted close to 7 different wines and ended up purchasing 3 bottles once we were finished. Probably the best $60 bucks spent in a long while (4 bottles of wine & 2 wine glasses). This is a MUST stop if you're driving through or visiting Eastern Iowa. All the wine names are legally inspired names and uniquely labeled. The bottles that we purchased were called (Ms. Chievous, Felony Red, and Ms. D'Meanor). I also have to compliment the super friendly staff. They were always serving with a smile and more than happy to pour the next tasting. They offer hors d'oeuvres to pair with the various wines and provide a seating area in the rear where you can sit down and enjoy the small bites. One HUGE selling point for this establishment is the staff never forced their product on us. They never made us feel like we HAD to purchase something. If nothing else, stop in and taste some wine. If you want to keep the glass, you have a great souvenir for only $5 bucks. Add this winery to your itinerary ASAP!

We just happened to be passing thru and made a slight detour to see Antique Archeology since we watched the show a bunch. We had no idea the town was so neat! It's a neat little town with a decent amount of things to do. We decided to stay there a few days ahead of time and really lucked out to find this gem! At first we were a bit skeptical with only seeing a few reviews so I made a phone call to investigate. The owner Cecilia was great! I had an abundance of questions and she did not get irritated with me at all and answered every question! So we booked! Once we arrived we went down to the winery to get the keys and our complementary bottle of wine! (Big plus, we love wine)! We found a new friend in Jennifer (the gal that runs the winery below the VRBO). She was great as well with many great recommendations of things to do around town. Two of our favs are the Tuscan restaurant across the street and Shelly's Sweet Sensations up the hill a couple blocks. (Get the Turtle Brownie! So good)! After we got our wine we went up stairs to check out our accommodations...We were both pleasantly surprised! The place was very quaint with plenty of room. It comes fully furnished with everything you'd need for even an extended stay. (Including a washer and dryer). We look forward to coming back as soon as possible to come back to the winery and even to explore the town and area even further! I'd highly recommend these businesses to most anyone that has a love for traveling and exploring new places! Brent

Not worth it. It is our Honeymoon weekend that I tried booking for and since we met at that Winery, we thought it be fitting we stayed there. I will NO longer be sending business her was in ANY form..... Then in the middle of the conversation, she knocked a fellow business down the street. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! I would NOT recommend further!!!!!

We each elected to do a tasting of 3 different wines - all reds .Unfortunately the beautiful setting was better than any of the wines we tasted. We walked away disappointed as we really wanted to buy a bottle to support a local business but we just didn't care for any of the 6 we tried. The sales pressure was a real turnoff. I felt it was overpriced as well. Go for the views and the lovely garden patio but for dry red wine lovers I would fergedaboudit!

I know it's a winery and they want to sell alcohol but all we wanted was something to eat. The only seating was in the bar hallway/lobby (or outside, but it was windy). Inside they have 6 wingback type chairs with a " coffee table" in front of you (can you imagine trying to chew on a hard crusted Pizza, sitting at the coffee table), 2 tall tables, each with 4 tall, hard, sling stools, no backs (which aren't easy to move on the low pile carpet), or a regular height table with six hard, wood chairs with backs, or a couple chairs at the bar. Not knowing if a larger group of people would come in we didn't want to take the areas for six people. So we sat at one of the tall tables with hard sling chairs and no backs. They are extremely uncomfortable, too tall to be comfortable, no matter your height. We were each given a fork wrapped in one small napkin. When the pizzas came out they were very thin, not many toppings (we've had better frozen pizzas than these were and I don't care for frozen pizza). They were impossible to cut with the fork. When you picked them up your hands got black from the underside, from the Wood Fired Pizza. The crust was too hard to chew off. We asked for more napkins and knives and they only had little plastic knives. When questioned about something different we were told that's the only kind they can give us. Which of course there's no way you can cut, with those little plastic knives, the tough crust of the pizza. I would like to see management sitting in those uncomfortable hard tall stools trying to chew a pizza (or cut one with a little plastic knife), with dirty, blackened fingers and try to enjoy one's dinner.
