Clean bathrooms (both gender neutral, the further one back is the former mens room) that smelled good and not like other fast food places in the area which smell like waste products. So what about the FOOD? Like other people, I like Jimmy Johns sandwiches - the Hunters Club in particular, but it's so large, I went for a Vito (#5) with peppers instead. The bread was fresh, and the sandwich was well-made. The Dr. Pepper from the fountain was really good. For parking, there are spots right in front, but the distance from the street to the spots makings getting out....interesting. Instead, go to the right, circle around the building, and park on the left side of building (diagonal parking) so it's less fun to get out. Subs so fast you freak - I was the 4th order in, and had a total wait time of around 4 minutes.

UPDATE: July 4th, 2025…read more I've been coming back to this place 4-5 days a week SINCE my last review. The service has improved DRASTICALLY. My review was never about speed/wait times, or anything about product or store. It was ONLY on how insanely long it took SOME of the staff to acknowledge that a customer is in the store. Not because I need special attention, but because as someone in the industry for almost two decades, I was just dumbfounded by the lack of personal care. However, since then, they've all seemed to REALLY up there game. They're especially nice and attentive to me. I can't tell if its because I'm "that guy" who wrote the review... Or because they truly care and have actually focused on improving customer service across the board. Either way, the staff is very friendly, the drinks and food are AMAZING, ambiance is second to none in town, and I would recommend this place and service 11/10 times.

The meals were good, the portions were ample and the service was excellent. They have a bar that's separate from the dining area, and also an area for people who want to play slots while they wait. But you're not going to have to wait long. We barely finished our appetizers and our food was ready. This time I got the Monte Cristo. If you remember how Bennegan's did it, this sandwich is right on par with that. It's battered and deep fried like it should be, and of course comes with the raspberry sauce. (See my pics!) parking isn't too big of a problem, and there's an entrance in the back if you can't get a spot out front. This is going to be our new "go to" in Dixon. Maybe I'll see ya there!

We heard about this place and dropped in for breakfast. This was formerly the Dog Hub which was a…read moreclassic, loved Rochelle restaurant. It was sold to another family. Now it's different. The kitchen is the same, the layout is different - it's much larger now as they expanded it to the west unit, so it has plenty of seating. The flooring is nice (no longer sticky) and new, and the divider between the old and new spaces is nice and clean. I ordered a glass or orange juice and my wife had coffee. It was breakfast, so I wanted to try their roasted apple fruit pancakes with a side order of sausage patties (the breakfast side orders are on the left side of the sandwich menu by the way), and my wife had their farmer's skillet. Ambiance is a typical family restaurant. Big glass windows in the front, a clean, nice interior with nice comfortable booths, and the service was very good. Our waitstaff checked as to whether the food was good, and if we needed anything several times. The temperature inside wasn't hot or cold. I took my coat off and was comfortable, as did my wife, who is very intolerant to cold. This also had several law enforcement people eating there, which is always a good sign. We'll be back. I'll try their lunch or dinner next.

They have changed up the appearance of the place - adding artwork in the building to tie it into the theme, and some curtains between the counter and the back area where the food is cooked. You walk in, look at the menu, make your order and pay. They will provide you with a pager so when you sit down, you know your food is ready. They will set off the pager and call your pager number out. They then had you a plastic bag or bags (depending on your order size) with your food, and you go back to your table. The bag had napkins, 1 fork and 2 sets of chopsticks in it. We found more of the same in the old buffet cart, which is just south of the drink dispenser. With the logistics handled, let's talk about the food. There is the Hibachi section, where they have Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Salmon, Scallops, Vegetable and Filet Mignon, along with combinations of those. There is the Special Yatta section, which has combinations of Hibachi Chicken and California Roll, with a drink. There is a noodle combo section with all sorts of noddle combos, and then they have a respectable sushi section with 29 different rolls available in "basic", "Special" and "Traditional" varieties. So what did we have? We ordered the Hibachi Combo Fillet Mignon and Shrimp, along with 2 Special Rolls - Torch Salmon and Washington Roll. The Hibachi Fillet Mignon (sic) and Shrimp was good - it came with vegetables, rice (not chicken fried or pork fried, just fried which is fine with me) and then a good portion of both meats. This would be great for one person with an appetite. We shared it and the sushi. The Torch Salmon was heated with a torch - you can hear it when they start it up. It was a warm roll, and was quite good. The Washington Roll was also very tasty and was served chilled (not torched). Both sushi rolls came with ginger and wasabi. The wasabi was respectably hot, as expected. They also have appetizers on the menu. To help you out, I have included both sides of the menu in the photos. The drink machine is your typical 8 or 10 selection unit. The drinks tasted fine. This is a restaurant we need in Rochelle. It offers variety that is much needed. Give it a try!
