Thank you. ***UPDATE to owners reply**** Thank you Scott but my review needs no clarification. Its simple, you missed the defective water heater and instead of trying to correct this matter with quality customer service, you have decided to outright deny any wrongdoing. Thank you for posting the photo from my inspection as it clearly indicates you could have easily viewed the hole in the heater in the bottom right corner where the control valve is located. Thus is how PG&E was able to view the problem and notify me of the safety concern. Also, I have spoken to other consumers who have had similar problems in their home inspections with other inspectors. However, their inspectors did their customer justice and compensated them for the mistake. Shame on this company for making the consumer the "Bad Guy" and then posting it to my review instead of contacting me directly... you are demonstrating to other yelp consumers how you try to cover your mistakes. The inspector was a sweet person who appeared to be an exceptional inspector. However, after escrow closure, my family discovered the company does not honor its own ethics dictated on its own pamphlets. PG&E uncovered a large rusty hole in one corner of our water heater. Good afternoon, This email is in regards to the residential home inspection service recently completed at **** I have a concern I would like to share. Recently, I had PG&E visit my home for a separate gas line issue. The technician resolved my issue but while onsite, completed a general viewing of my gas appliances for safety. Upon doing so, he peeked under a small corner of the blanket to my gas water heater and uncovered a huge rusty hole. I will send pictures of the unit. Of course, I was dismayed as it was surely something my home inspector would have found. I immediately called my plumber to replace the unit. Upon removal of the entire blanket, there were multiple holes in the unit and the entire bottom of the unit was rusted and completed dismantled upon removal from the stand. Now, it is understandable that certain things during a home inspection may not be visible to the inspector. However, all the PG&E technician had to do was merely peek under a corner and there was one of many holes completely intruding the water heater unit. I entrusted the inspector with such viewing and I do know he looked for a date stamped manufacturer seal, so it was assumed he viewed the unit. I am very disheartened with this whole matter. I am respectfully requesting compensation for my loss as I believe, had this been discovered in my inspection, I would have been able to request the unit be replaced before my escrow closure. Please review my pictures of the unit as definitive proof of my loss. On 02/03/16 at the ***, I purchased a replacement gas water heater for $598.00 not including tax. I would like to be compensated for this amount. I will also attach a picture of this receipt as proof of purchase. I did enjoy working with the inspector, but am sorry to have discovered such a flaw in service. I look forward to your timely response. We recently had Baker Inspection Group do our home/termite inspection on a house we are buying. I never personally met Scott as our realtor was the one there while the inspection was completed, however he seemed to do a very thorough job as he found quite a few items I would have never even noticed until after moving in (ie, the built in microwave would start and run, however it didn't actually get hot). After getting the inspection back, I had a few questions, so I called to speak to Scott just to get clarification. (as a side note, the report was very clear, I just wanted to ensure I understood the report fully.) I left a message and his wife called me back to let me know Scott was out doing inspections and would call me back that evening if it was alright. The fact that she called me back so I didn't think they were ignoring me made for a very good customer experience. Scot and his wife are absolutely AMAZING!! The quality, care, and expertise that they have is surpassed by none. I am still in the process of buying the home that Scot inspected for me. I have to say that if I went with the inspector that the seller was recommending, I do not think I would have had as the quality and care that I received from Scot and Baker Inspection Group. Additionally, Scot used technology to complete the home inspection that I had never seen before (including, but not limited to a rover, and a video from the rover of under my house in the crawl space). The entire inspection report was easily accessible online, printable, and included lots of good photos. He also did a recall inspection to see if any of the appliances in the home had any current recalls out there, as well as a mold inspection and an offer of money to repair mold if he missed it. His suggestions for the repairs the seller needs to make before my purchase is complete are wonderful, and will save me thousands of dollars in the future. Finally, many inspectors only do the basics, but do not also do the termite inspection. That was included in Scot's price! Less work for me and a great company that they partner with. Okay, I said finally, but this really is the last great thing I have to state that I think is definitely worth mentioning. Scot's wife is the administrative assistant that took my call when I called to get the estimate. I would not utilize Scot nor this group for any inspections on my dog house. This group is neither a licensed state contractor/ nor possess any state licensed certifications to inspect homes thoroughly. This "outfit" blantanly calls for items that neither require repairs nor are a requirement by the state or the county. I personally caught them calling an item that was not a hazard and a certified electrician would require to be remedied. Upon bringing this to their attention, Scott got flustered and could could not give a reasonable explanation for "calling" the item. This outfit, is only worried about the their bottom line( lining their pockets ) Avoid this firm at all costs sellers in the Stanislaus County Area.
