Really good, I like the option to draw, efficient ordering experience, cool decor, burger egg roll was craaaaazy

I had a very good experience at Baji Baji. It is located in East Village. The walls inside and outside the restaurant are covered with graffiti and sticker art. Because of this the main entrance is inconspicuous as the front door's handle blends in with the art. If it weren't for the front window being open where I could see the through to the cash register I wouldn't have known the restaurant was open. The graffiti art adds urban character to this fast casual Chinese takeout restaurant. It is a hole in the wall and the lobby can only hold approximately 4-5 people at a time. I recommend ordering in advance, but if you must order in-person consider waiting outside the restaurant afterwards as the inside can get congested quickly. The food was delicious. Hot and fresh. I was impressed by the freshness of the roast pork. It smelled fresh off the grill and slightly smoky which elevated the Singapore Mei Fun I ordered. There was a fine balance of curry in the noodles and five spice on the pork. I also ordered chicken wings and rice, beef lo mein, and General Tso's Chicken. All of which were fresh and delicious. I appreciate that the food wasn't greasy. The strawberry lemonade was also good. Customer service was OK and so was the ordering experience. NOTE: I planned to dine-in after seeing photos of the lobby on Yelp, however, the photos of showing two high-top tables in the lobby from 4-6 years ago are from an older dine-in layout. Now there's one high-top table facing the window which to be honest is not fitting for the lobby or comfortable to dine in as you'd be sharing a small space with a trash can, the register, and likely other customers waiting to order or retrieve their food. The table accommodates 2-3 people. The table from 4-6 years ago might be the one that is now completely covered in graffiti art. Overall, a very good experience and I will visit again. read more

Had this place on my list to try for a while. I don't usually trust Yelpers because they get it wrong a lot. However, this was some solid takeout. Pricing wasn't too bad either. I ordered the house special lo mein. The small size was $12 plus tax. More than enough food for 1 person. It had a combination of a bunch of different proteins. I've eaten here a few times and to be honest the food is too heavy greasy for me. The chicken wings and wonton soup are good, but other than that the other dishes like pork Lo mein are way too covered in oil. I've had the pork fried rice last time I was here and had the same feeling about the grease. I also ordered the cheese wontons which were more soggy than crispy. They are triangle shaped as opposed to the crab wontons I'm used to that are super crispy and in a star like shape, so mainly that's why and they didn't have much flavor. Their lemonades were a bit too sweet for me but if you have a sweet tooth then you'll definitely love it!! Food - 10/10 very tasty. The rice was cooked to perfection, but the CHICKEN WINGS OMG! Crispy, seasoned well they were great. Highly recommended. The general TSO was chopped into bite sized pieces, very easy to eat. Flavorful and perfectly seasoned. My friend loved the chicken and broccoli also, said it was fresh and flavorful. My family and I came from buffalo for an appointment and i was already following bajibaji for over a year on instagram. i told myself idc if i miss my plane, im going to bajibaji to try they food before we left. when we told the team that we had to make it to out plane in less than a hour, they prioritized our food snd got it out asap. I have been stalking this place for a bit on IG. I am never usually in this area so I knew it would have to be a planned trip otherwise it wasn't going to happen. I was in the area last week but it was a Tuesday and just my luck, they were closed on Tuesdays. Well over the wknd I had some city errands and decided to make this my last stop. I was exhausted and getting here was a bit of trek but I made it. I knew I wanted take out so I made my order online which was pretty simple. My food was ready upon my arrival. I got the Shrimp fried rice. I wasn't sure of the portion so I got a large, the regular size would have probably been enough. The rice was flavorful and I had a decent amount of shrimps in there, however I thought there would be some veggies in there but alas no. That's my only issue. It was just rice and shrimps. I think some veggies there would have elevated it. Then I also got the Shrimp egg roll and the cheese burger egg rolls. Both were delicious and the dipping sauce were good. The reason I'm saying maybe is because I've been to this restaurant twice for takeout and the second time I went I had pepper steak with chicken fried rice and I noticed like a lot of Chinese restaurants the beef that they use for the pepper steak wasn't real beef. it was some type of processed chewy concoction, and the same thing with the chicken fried rice. The little pieces of chicken were in real chicken. It was some type of processed chicken. The best general Tzo's chicken. Crispy , juicy chicken with a slightly spicy sauce. The fried rice is the best I've had for take out American Chinese. Not greasy at all I only got delivery from here. And I think that's why I drop a star off my rating. In pictures of the menu I see orange chicken and chow fun on the menu. And with the dinner combo you can choose soup. Ordering thru a food delivery platform those options are not available. I got Wonton soup with no crunchy noodles. But maybe that was an oversight. Also , no hot mustard when I requested it. This is some of the worst food I have ever tasted. Everything was mushy and the meat tough, overcooked and stringy. Flavor was very flat. Don't get shrimp garlic sauce, mongalian beef or rib tips. I couldn't chew the rib tips. There was white rice in the entrees that didn't mention rice and all of the rice soaked up the sauces so they were very dry. The egg rolls were hard and over fried. Recently tried out this new Chinese place in the East Village and had a pretty good experience. It's a good option for take out, or for lunch as it's quite affordable. They have some indoor seating as well that's cute and casual. I had the shrimp and eggplant in garlic sauce with rice and my friend had the vegetarian bean curd vegetable with rice. I came here in part due to my university discount, but I'm so glad I discovered this new establishment! The pork pan fried dumplings were crispy and full of meat and flavor, and crab rangoon, which I honestly have never had before, was good too. I think my uni might have done a mix up, because I noticed the "crab rangoon," listed on our promotions flyer, didn't taste much like crab; it appears on Baji Baji's menu that the restaurant does serve cream cheese wontons...which would make more sense. They seem to have a variety of Chinese food options, so you know you can get some solid Chinese staple foods here in a clean, friendly environment. I didn't try anything else, but I'll definitely return at some point, and it certainly makes me miss living in East Village. :') I like how one side of the wall is interactive, for customers to write messages they want in chalk, and the other is covered in cute Chinese-culture cartoon art. I have been wanting to try this spot for a while. I live in BK, and KUM KAU is one of the best take out Chinese spots we have. However, BajiBaji was well worth my trip from Brooklyn. This place gets quite busy, and my only complaint is that they open so late. This quaint spot is not large at all, but they make up for it with big flavor! You may want to call ahead to place your order. I had about a 15-20 minute wait, but who cares about the wait for fresh delicious food. The boneless spare ribs with the house special fried rice is a must try. It satisfied my long-awaited craving. I can't wait to return. If you decide to go, please be nice to Jay or whoever is up front, juggling phone and in-person orders. I promise they will get to you and you will be satisfied. read more

Came here late last night and got the boneless bbq pork ribs plate and my girlfriend got the garlic shrimp plate. We ordered in person and the guy behind the counter was a little rude, but he could've just been having a bad day. The place is very small so people most likely do take out only which we did as well. A lot of delivery traffic. The BBQ pork ribs came with a ton of food that was good, but the shrimp with garlic didn't seem to have shrimp and was mostly vegetables in there.
