This is the Sammy reviewed in the Seattle Times. Amazing flavors! 10/10

The signature sandwich is 10 out of 20! We came in from Covington, worth the trip! The pork is sublime, the owner is welcoming and proud of his business! It's inside South Park Grocery. Treat yourself! Great pricepoints.

Near is the pork loin. Far is the beef with shredded green beans on top. These are large(!), freshly made sandwiches with all the trimmings. The sandwich bread is worth a visit alone imho. I'm born and raised Seattle and this is possibly the best sandwich I've had in the city. The pork loin was our favorite but both are YUM!

We tried this place because it was part of Plate of Nations. To be honest, I'm not sure we would have stopped if it wasn't part of Plate of Nations, but now we can't wait to go back. The restaurant is in a large convenience store. There are some tables but seating can be limited. The owner and I think his daughter were working behind the counter and they were so friendly! The convenience store clerk also was really nice and gave the restaurant high praise. They get their ingredients fresh and so it wasn't a surprise that they were out of French fries, but that was okay with us. The sandwich and empanadas were filling enough. We had beef and cheese empanadas. Both were delicious. The empanada dough was buttery and delicious, and the filling was great. I liked them both but my boyfriend's favorite was the cheese. The salsa they give you to eat with it was fresh and delicious and balanced the flavors of the empanadas nicely (it was kind of like Pico de gallo). We got the Churrasco Italiano sandwich (sliced beef that's grilled and seasoned, and it's topped with avocado, tomato, and a tasty Mayo). While it was a bit messy, it was absolutely delicious. We were licking our fingers as we are through it. It was one of the most flavorful sandwiches we have ever eaten. Don't let the outside of the building fool you. Go inside and try the food. It's delicious and worth it. We are looking forward to coming back and trying more things.

Cant say enough good things about this place. The owner is super friendly and the woman behind the counter rolling out fresh empanadas all day is a freakin rock star. Everything was super fresh, very affordable and tasted authentic. The meat empanadas were my favorite item and the sandwiches are HUGE! Will for sure be coming back

Absolutely amazing sandwich, great environment, very cleanly food is amazing and the service is great. This is his masterpiece

    Lomo Al Jugo

Sandwiches are amazing and the salsa here is the best I've ever had. But the real treasure is Rodrigo. It's so obvious he loves making his food and even delivers his sandwiches while calling them "my masterpieces". 10/10 food 11/10 owner.

Conversation in English and Spanish of him asking me to go to Seattle to get my refund. I switched to English to provide evidence to my CCC

We opted for the drink as we were heading to a friend's for dinner. I got the ensalada while my boyfriend got the horchata and I appreciated how the cashier asked if we wanted ice or not. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

Most Caribbean spots around Washington lean Jamaican, so finding a place doing proper Puerto Rican dishes felt special. The menu and quality reminded me of what you'd find back on the island, at least pre-pandemic. They had classics like chillo frito, mofongo, and pasteles, and it tasted like homemade small business cooking. Honestly, I thought it was even better than La Isla before the fire that shut that place down. A few pain points. It's far. The restaurant is south of Tacoma near I-5, so it's a bit of a drive whether you're coming from Seattle or even from the airport. It was also cash only when I went, though you could sit inside and eat. Last time I called it sounded like they were still mostly doing the to-go model and hadn't fully gone back to the way it used to operate. I haven't made the trip again yet, but it's still on my list. Also worth saying, after the pandemic when I moved to San Diego, I couldn't find an authentic Puerto Rican spot there either. That made me appreciate this place even more. After the Benito Super Bowl performance I'm definitely craving some Puerto Rican food again. Might have to make the drive soon.

Not sure if it was always like this or just near closing hours when we arrived to pick up our order., The lady at the cash register was most pleasant and our orders were complete, cooked to order hot and fresh. We ordered 2 orders of the chicken dinners, pollo playero and had bits of pork added to it. We also ordered a side of beans. The food was freshly cooked, so it was nice and hot. It was well seasoned. The meats were tender (with the exception of the pork bits inside the rice). The food had a beautiful presentation with onion, green and red pepper slices on top of the meats.

It was packed with various meats that was very tender. It also came with a bread to help balance the meal. Beef empanada 5/5 -- this was really good.
