The Ramos family is very dear to my heart, and that history is one of the reasons the Burien location remains so nostalgic and special to me. I've watched it grow from that tiny restaurant into the massive establishment it is today. But I have to say, every time I visit the Burien location now, there seems to be an odd energy. The warmth and friendliness do not always feel consistent. It sometimes seems as though certain people are welcomed more warmly than others, and that is disappointing. When I visit the Tukwila Azteca, I feel a much more genuine sense of hospitality and welcome. I say this with affection for the Ramos family and tremendous respect for what they built. But in my experience, the second generation now running the Burien location does not seem to carry the same passion, warmth, and spirit of hospitality that his father did. That is especially sad for me because the original Burien Azteca holds so many wonderful memories and will always have a special place in my heart.
