Chefs' Toys

Due to starting a ramen project with my wife last year, I've found myself in a variety of…read morerestaurant supply stores in many different cities including a number of different Chefs' Toys locations. This is my favorite one to go to, though, by far. Although it doesn't always have everything I need, it's pretty easy to have most things I'm looking for sent over for pickup given the small scale of our project at this time (weekly pop ups, primarily at smaller breweries while we refine our skills further). Of all the Chefs' Toys locations - and all the restaurant supply stores I've gone to in general, from the western IE out to Anaheim, Santa Monica, etc. - this location is consistently the best overall experience. All 7 staff members I've encountered over the course of many visits have always been friendly and helpful to me and any other customer who has been around at the same time. It's a bit of a drive compared to a couple options, but unless Chefs' Toys doesn't carry or can't obtain what I need in time for an event, I try to go here so I can avoid the typical negative atmosphere many business locations develop. Somehow this crew has been consistently nice even though they probably have plenty of stress and whatnot just like everyone else. Having worked in retail in my youth, I really appreciate and amd thankful for the extra effort the employees clearly put in at the Corona location to treat customers like real people. Thanks!

It's highly suggestible, let's see if his fantasy will last long enough to actually produce a dish for me hahaha! I read the reviews by previous Yelpers (thank you Robert!) & I am encouraged to know the positives. This place didn't disappoint.... except Hubby. He didn't find a small wok. He could've asked the very friendly & welcoming staff but he wanted one NOW. We were pressed for time & just wanted a "lay of the land" when we visited. Most likely to return to check out the rest of what Chef's Toys has to offer: kitchen tools, equipment, appliances, gadgets etc. Parking lot is not crowded for a Saturday & it's free, this store is open to the public. It is also located in an industrial area of Corona & next door is store selling new & used kitchen equipment, will check that out next time when we visit this shop on a weekday.

Whereas the other brands were literally ENCASED in plastic.... every bit of which will end up in the oceans. Great product. Environmentally friendly. Highly recommended.

I waited for a year to get the Corona crack weeder as it was out of stock. But I had to buy $100…read moreworth of items to avoid the $13 or so shipping fee. When I got the items last Friday 4/4/25 I was disappointed to find that the crack weeder looks like a used item: it has scratches on both sides of the blade, a mark on the handle and dark spots on the handle which looks like touched by dirty hands. I used to have a good image of Corona as I have some of their sharpening tools. But I am really disgusted about getting a used item. I think they do not give consideration to their customers. The other items look fine but they are all made in China so there is really no need to overcharge before tariffs hit. I used the stirrup hoe, the weeder and the kneeler. 4/7/25 I called the company and was told they would take 3 weeks to review the emails and will get back to me. 4/8/25 I received email from the company they will ship me a replacement before end of the week. 4/10/25 I got my new crack weeder, surprised. I actually used the other weeder 4/10/25 to test it out. For larger crevices the weeder was quite efficient to pull the weeds out, depending what kind of weeds. But when it comes to narrow crevices, the blade got stuck in the cracks and needed some struggle to pull it out. I was able to clear out 2 driveway crevices. So I will just take my time a few crevices at a time. The long blade seems to prevent bending which is what I need. So I upgraded the company to 4 stars.

Anyways, I showed up in the afternoon on a Tuesday, and I was the only one there. Shortly after walking in, a man who I presume is the owner, helped me out right after I said I had 2 knives to get sharpened. The front area has a big wooden cutting board that you can use to demo the knives out after they're sharpened, which I thought was cool. There's also walls and walls of cool knives, which I couldn't tell if they were for sale or for demos, but they were really cool to look at while I waited. The service was incredibly reasonably priced. I was out of there with sharpened knives in less than 10 minutes and the space was reasonably large. I hope that means the business is doing well. It certainly deserves to. I got exactly the service I requested. The quality of the knives was so good that my dad actually got a little cut after I gave them back to him. Nothing major, but was a bit funny and definitely proof that they were quite sharpened. The value for the time was extremely good. This is the type of small business that you definitely want to support, and I'll definitely be recommending Mr. Sharpe knives in the future.
