STAY AWAY THEY LIE!!!!! . i am a business owner from Modesto ca, i called air hero's asked them how much they charge to come Maintenace my heating and air. they said it was a one-time fee of 169.99 for the year. i said great made the appointment (which took a couple weeks to get) once the guy got here, he said just to let you know you have multiple units, witch will need there own service.so basically doubling the price....... Frustrated cuz they didn't tell me that on the phone, i still said ok to it, then after that the they try and tell me they gave me the wrong price and its 199.99$ per unit...... so it goes from 169.99 to come check everything out, to 400$ over double what they quoted me on the phone... i call to tell her she needs to honor the price she told me originally, she said she texted me the new price(I GOT NO TEXT FROM HER)(LIED AGAIN) she said she would not Honor her word and that was the price. so they lied to me to get someone out here, then try's to jack the price up once someone is here...... what a con. i talked to SAM on the phone, she was the one who misquoted me and then told me, to bad she was not going to honor her word. We just had Bailey's Heating and Air, Modesto, CA replace our 31 year old HVAC system. First they came to our house, and checked the air flow and leakage in all of our ducts. We had a 30% leakage. Second, they took this data back to their office, and ran a computer model to see what size Trane air unit and furnace would be required. Mitch teaches this analysis technique to others for PG&E in Stockton. After sizing our requirements for our 2100 sf house, they started building a larger intake manifold out of sheet metal, and came back to install our new units, reduced the duct leakage from 30% to 8.8%, and added 1ft-5inches more insulation over the entire 2nd story of our house. All this was done in 4 days, by very competent people. We purchased 30,000 air conditioner, mini splits and air purifying system from Bailey. First few years, we had great customer service and follow up. 2 years ago I worked from home and noticed that guys are not doing services ce on mini splits as they should. I brought it up with office and was told that deep cleaning needs to be done which is not a part of the maintenance. I asked why all of a sudden they are talking about deep cleaning since regular cleaning was not done correctly. No one responded to the complaint. I called this year for the maintenance. Again, deep cleaning is a must. Again, I brought up the fact that cleaning twice a year was not done correctly. Coils were not cleaned, vacuuming of the mini splits was not done when they came over for maintenance. The technician told me that they were aware of the problem with the technician that was providing service to us and he is no longer working there. I called the office and was told that I might be not a good fit as a customer. When asked to speak to the owner, he never called me. I guess we did not spend enough for him to bother to maintain customer service with existing customers. I did speak to a manager. She was supposed to send someone over. 2 weeks later and no one came. I called today and was told that it is not scheduled. So basicly after 7 years being a customer, they do not care nor willing to provide a good customer service. We did give the 5 stars 4 years ago. Now I have to give the 0. Hope new customers will not give them any new business since follow up and maintenance is not their priority. read more

The Bailey's team did an exceptional job replacing our ancient furnace and AC with a new heat pump. This included redesigning the ducts, adding thick insulation in the attic, installing many fans in the bathrooms, kitchen, garage, and workroom. Along with the whole house fan they installed, this system has helped cut our energy bills all year. The voice-activated internet-enabled thermostat is a wonder. They quickly did some follow-up work to fine-tune some problems with the complex installation. When we needed a hot water heater to replace our end-of-life one, we chose a heat pump hot water heater, which efficiently moves heat from the garage air into the water for low-cost hot water. Asked these guys to come and give me a quote for 2 HVAC systems. They where curious why both had gone out at once, asked what tests had been done by the other company that i used to use for maintenance. During the conversation it seemed Baileys did a bunch more testing so I agreed to have their tech guy out. I've used their service for my real estate investment business for several years. Service, repairs, and system installation. I'll look for another provider now. The last repair was a contactor switch for $335, which is way over what the industry considers an appropriate charge. $30 part and the rest is all labor for about a one hour job at the most. The technician was new and misdiagnosed the problem so a second technician had to be called in to help. Two guys for 6 hours and the bill obviously reflected the time which was passed on to me. I was also never contacted with the job estimate, only contacted with the whopping bill for their inexperience technician. Research yourself and ask other providers their cost before you let these guys come out. Trust me, this $335 job should have been between $150 to $200. By the way, this is only a five year old home with easy accessibility. read more

Had our entire system replaced this past February. I called Bailey's first, and Mitch came out promptly and went over all of our options. He was very clear and forthcoming about the costs of labor, all the available units, rebates, etc. He encouraged me to look around before making a decision and that I be comfortable. There was zero sales pressure. The other company I had come out (I won't name them, but they are huge in the Sacramento area and surrounding areas) was ALL pressure. They were knowledgeable and professional and friendly, mind you - but they deemphasize the equipment and want to sell you on relationship with the company and perception of value. Getting any real facts about the equipment was nearly impossible, and getting the guy to leave my house without committing basically resulted in me having to throw him out. So naturally, I went back to Bailey's. I had a better system with dual zoning and a wi-fi thermostat installed for less than an inferior unit with no dual zoning by the other guys. The installation techs were professional and knew what they were doing. My pregnant wife was totally comfortable with them in our home even without me there. I wish I remembered their names so I could give them credit in the review for working late to finish on time, and taking time to explain everything every step of the way. Bailey's handled the rebates for me, and I got a better PG&E rebate than I was even expecting (they were reserved in how well they claimed they could seal my existing ducts, and did better than they promised). I would do business with them again, they will be the only company I use for maintenance of my unit. I love our new dual zone AC unit, I keep my house cooler and still have a lower bill than last year. Wonderful company to work with. They serviced the original AC/Heating unit in my house for quite a few years. A co-worker had recommended Baily's to me, at that point it was not on any scheduled maintenance. Baily's set up twice a year check ups. They kept it running properly and most importantly safe to continue keeping it in service. It finally was ready to be "retired" at about 34 years old. Pretty good run. I recently purchased my new unit from them. Installation and all inspections went extremely well. I had a problem with my AC in summer. I called Bailey's. One person came and changed one of the capacitors and charged me $180. The problem was not fixed though. I called them the following day. Same person came back and cleaned some tubes and charged me another $180. He said the problem was fixed but the AC still didn't work. I called them again. Two different technicians came and told me that the motor needed replacement. They agreed to adjust the $360 that I had already paid and installed a new motor. About 3 months after the motor was installed it started making loud noises. I called the company and reported the problem. They said that they would charge $75 to come and check. I argued that it didn't seem fair and since I got the new motor only three months ago, they should check it without charging me, but they didn't agreed. So now I have found another business to help me. read more

All we can do nothing but sing praises for Baileys Air Heroes!! Notably, an HVAC system is a big investment. But, peace of mind that it will be dependable, and that the install will be done properly, and timely is very important. Every time we dealt with anyone at Baileys, was a pleasurable experience; they all truly care about their customers and take pride in their jobs. The sales reps, Alfredo and Phalla were wonderful. We never felt they were pressuring us to buy; any questions were thoroughly answered. If any questions arose that may have stumped them, they were very comfortable contacting and consulting with Mitch. The installers, Duane (sp?) and Joey were so awesome. Due to logistics, our furnace install needed to be relocated to our garage attic. Through the high July temperatures, never once did they complain. They even added new flooring & sheetrock to finish the original closet for us to use for storage. A dropdown attic ladder was added as well. The fact that they stayed on task, completing our job before going on to another, made us feel that our comfort was important to them. We had a new Trane 2.5T Packaged untit installed on the roof. Converted from Electric/propane 20 yr old unit to a new Electric/Electric unit. We also had all new and enlarged vents, ducting and returns installed. These guys are top notch. Sales - Alfredo was very informative, laid out all options and looked for and found all rebate possibilities. He also came by during installation to see how it was going. Office - Great friendly and accurate communication. They handled all the rebate paperwork for us. Installation - Lee went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with every segment of the installation. Even when there were a couple bumps in the road he made sure no shortcuts were taken and that the job was done correctly. The pride and integrity was very evident. I have the original a/c unit from when my house was built back in 1991. My neighbor just had his original unit replaced last week. I cleaned out some cotton from some cottonwood trees that are located near by, something I do annually. After cleaning it out I ran my a/c unit to make sure it was still running fine. Sadly I made some very loud and unpleasant noises upon start up. So now I am in the process of getting some quotes. Bailey's Heating & Air is the first thus far. They said that they would be able to repair it for about $700.00 maybe.... However as I suspected they recommended to replace the unit, which is what pretty much expected. Odds are I get it repaired this year and it gets me along another couple of years till it will just need to be replaced. With a unit this old it is probably prudent to replace it and more than likely reduce my energy bill. I digress, I'm getting off track! The techs that came out were very friendly and showed me some options, there cost and possible financing. All went well. However after they left I went to turn the fan back on to help circulate air in the house. Well when I went to do this the fan did not turn on. I then turned the a/c on and the unit still did not do anything. I then tried the heat and still nothing. I then went to see if they turned the power off from the breaker box and saw that the switch for the heating and a/c was still on. I now know they pulled the fuse on my unit which is on the roof. So I call Bailey's and I spoke with Mike and told him the situation. He then tells me, "Oh you don't want to run the fan as that will make the situation worse for my unit." My response to him was "Thanks for consulting me on this". This little action has given me a bit of a little bit of a bad taste. If they were going to do this they should have told me before they left, which they did not. If they forgot I wish they would have had the integrity to just say "Sorry we forgot". I am still having 3 other companies to come out and give me estimates. It maybe Bailey's or maybe not. As I told the tech that came out I am performing my due diligence before making a decision. Bailey's did the air conditioning system for my new home in Salida. From the start there were problems. No AC in the upstairs, it felt like there was no return air going to the upstairs return filter. They did tests, even sent a man out to do a repair. I was busy at my work and couldn't be there that day, but the repair did not work. We argued back and forth, but Bailey's refused to do anything further to fix the problem. I was told I'm just not use to a two story home, and that's the best it will get. Ok, so time goes on, several years of high AC bills and I had enough. It's time to upgrade and get a new system. I did not use Bailey's. But my new installer agreed with me that something was wrong. We tore the walls apart and discovered there was no return tube going to the upstairs vent, where the filter is. Nothing there! And Bailey's knew it, the repair guy that came made a half hearted effort to funnel air through a wall, but this was a terrible install fallowed by a worse repair. So we tore open the wall, fed in a duct line and now I have AC upstair. My electric bill has dropped by $250 the first hot month of heavy use. I wish I could go back and sue them, this was negligence on a epic scale, by Bailey's, the Contractor, the inspector. I will have to settle for telling everyone the truth about their service. read more

Here we are, 2 1/2 years later, my furnace is still working GREAT no thanks to the guy at Bailey's!!!!! This owner is a LIAR! He commented that I'm a competitor on my negative review. This is the PERSONAL message he sent to me after he kindly inquired to my negative review. This was my experience with this company, and now Mitch Bailey comes on here to call me a liar??? "I pulled the file and reviewed the service tag. Unfortunately the letter they sent with your returned check was not in the file, so I did not know how the office responded. In addition the service tech did not write down any quotes on the tag for repair and just noted that the coil needed cleaning and that he fixed a loose wire. The equipment was manufactured in 1993, I got this from the serial number he wrote down. I did talk to the service man in question this morning and he didn't remember the job. Typically a cleaning is between $120 to $300, depending on what has to be done to clean the coil. From what your husbands granddad did, I would expect it should have been around $120. I did chew out the service tech because he didn't write down the quote to repair and get prior approval from you before doing any repairs, which means you should not have been charged to begin with! Of course you were inconvenienced but as far as I can tell you received all your money back. I take seriously our reputation and if possible try to rectify problems as soon as possible. The office didn't bring this to my attention at the time and was handling themselves. The lady in the office at the time is no longer here, now my daughter works in the office and she always brings anything like this to my attention. I wish I could say that we never make mistakes, but that would be untrue. We do try to run the business in an ethical way and try to make sure that all our service techs espouse the same beliefs and ethics that I have. So I apologize if our service person did not. Be assured it will not happen again with this service tech. To make this up to you, I would like to offer a service of the system at no charge, no strings attached. I will send out one of our best maintenance techs, Steve, to perform a cleaning and check the system, and in the future give you a 5% discount if the system needs replacing or other repairs.
