Gyoza
William I.

Gyoza (4.5/5): Skin had a great texture and the inside was juicy. Zangi (Fried Chicken) (4/5): Tender chicken. Would taste a bit better with a mayo or aioli sauce. Spicy Miso Ramen (3.5/5): I understand that spicy ramens are typically $1 or $2 more than non-spicy ramen, but the $4 price difference between this or a shio/shoyu makes no sense. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the broth just tasted like chili. I think it makes more sense to order a shio/shoyu and just use the chili oil that's provided at the table, as there isn't extra noodle or meat compared to the regular ramens. Also, I don't think the bamboo shoots were marinated at all, as it tasted like unseasoned gelatin. I would suggest marinating the bamboo shoots separately and cutting them into much thinner slices. The decor of this place is quite unique as there is a massive table in the middle with an imitation tree that's done tastefully. Also, the side tables have wooden engravings under the glass that looked cool. Service was standard and friendly.

We ate here for dinner because we couldn't decide on a spot. We had their spicy miso ramen which literally only had 1 slither of the chashu and I got the spicy chashu which came with 6 or 7 slithers of the chashu so I just shared with my friends. Broth was good but not creamy as how I'd like it to be and noodles were okay. There was really no wow factor for me and the egg was over boiled. Service was fast, staff wasn't too welcoming. I really loved the wood carved tables though it was so pretty.

Baikohken was on my list of ramen shops to try on my last trip to Hokkaido earlier this year. Unfortunately I was unable to make it so I've been wanting to try the local shop here for a while now. I don't wander into Waikiki too often though. As the case with many of the other shops in Stix Waikiki, Baikohken does offer a 15% kama'aina discount, which was much appreciated and played a big factor in my decision to eat there. They also offer lunch specials, highlighting four of their ramens: shoyu ramen, miso ramen, shio ramen, and spicy miso ramen at discounted rates. I love a deal on top of another deal, so of course I had to order one of the lunch specials with the kama'aina discount. I tried the spicy miso ramen, and boy, was I disappointed. Appearance-wise, it looked pretty good. It had chashu, fat pieces of bamboo shoots, beansprouts, green onion, half an egg, and I believe wood ear fungus on top. Unfortunately, the entire bowl tasted like I was eating shin ramyun. You know, the korean spicy noodles. I enjoy Shin-Ramyun, so nothing against that but definitely not what I was expecting. I think Shin-Ramyun has more flavor than this bowl of ramen. Highly disappointed. I'm even more disappointed that I didn't get to try them in Hokkaido, because now that I've had this, I don't think I'm going to want to, even though part of me knows it's better there. Needless to say, I ate about half my bowl (I was so hungry when I went in).. Noodles are my weakness. I usually eat more than I should, so being able to stop after half means a lot. The soup, noodles, chashu, egg...it was all pretty disappointing.

Vegan white ramen

I got the vegan white ramen and it was SO good. The broth is creamy and paired well with some chili oil and soy sauce. The noodles had the perfect texture and the whole bowl was super flavorful and satisfying. It's located in the Stix Asia Food Hall on the lower level in the noodle area. They offer non-vegan options as well. There are private tables, a bar, and a communal table. You have to wait for seating, but you can order while you're in line.

VEGAN broth available and delicious. Not only the service was efficient, the noodle was perfect texture with simple but Clean broth that compliment the experience. WITH a beautiful cherry bosom tree ambiance as the center piece around the table. Must try when in Stix looking for some traditional Japanese Noodle fix

This place is located in Stix Asia food hall with lots of Japanese places to choose from. I ordered the Shoyu Special Ramen and Gyozas. Both items were good; however there wasn't anything majorly special to them. I thought the shoyu ramen was pretty light as the soup was more on the water side but still good. Service was a bit slow but there were a lot of people and not enough staff working. Overall, decent place for ramen.

We decided to give Baikohken a try while we were in Hawaii. It wasn't bad, but it just wasn't for me. While everything tasted fresh and was prepared well, I just wasn't wowed by it. My husband actually enjoyed his meal a lot more than I did. He tends to like simpler flavors (the kind of guy who orders a plain burger ), so if you have similar taste buds, you'll probably enjoy this place. For me, though, I don't think I'd come back.

Shoyu Ramen

Ordered the Shoyu Ramen...very salty. Food came out fast. Service was not good, never came by, filled water or said anything when giving the check, more on the side of rude.

I took my son to have lunch at Sam's Kitchen and it was gross, so we came here and ordered miso butter corn ramen and takoyaki. We asked for the ramen to be al dente and it was perfect. The soup was ok. I will come back and try a different soup next time. My kid loved the takoyaki, he said it reminded him of the ones in Japan.

This ramen spot at the noodle street was buzzing with lot of people so wanted to swing over and try it out. I got to-go and took it to my hotel and it was nicely packed and was ready to be eaten. I was excited to eat it and let me tell you it was not good at all. The flavor of the ramen just wasn't anything special it was very bland and felt very basic, the meat was not very tender and juicy. Overall the experience of the ramen was just not that great.

Went here for lunch the other day and we ordered their shoyu ramen and shio ramen. Love how they put slice of butter in your ramen to add to the richness of the broth. Ramen was pretty yummy.

(3.5*) Located in the Stix mall, plenty of options around but it seems this place had a long line so wanted to give it a try. Waited about 40 mins at 8pm before seated and service was fairly quickly after getting our table. Got the spicy special ramen which was packing in spice. The broth was pretty flavorful to where it was actually quite salty but you could taste the richness especially since they add a knob of butter on top of the corn which probably contributed to high salt levels. They also don't skimp when it comes to chasu, tender fatty and a nice size cut as well.

I agree with the other reviewers that this ramen was ok but nothing about it that was so impressive that I have to go back again.

Flavorful yet light tasting broth. The noodles weren't too chewy or thick. The chasu was tasty and a good portion

We had a 4 hour layover in Honolulu and it was a quick 15 minute Lyft ride here to Lucky Belly. We were the only party here right at 5:30 pm. Loved the art and clean simple elegance of the exposed brick wall and wood tables. We were greeted and served by a very friendly host. We had the duck tacos, plus the special dim sum appetizer combo of pork belly bao, lobster dumplings and oxtail dumplings. We could not pick a favorite. The variety of textures was fantastic and each of the meat fillings were perfectly seasoned and tender, delicious! Each had a different sauce- just enough, not too much. Nothing was spicy but there was chili oil on the table if you wanted to add more heat. We got 2 nonalcoholic spritzers, one lilikoi and one hibiscus, which were each refreshing and complimented the meal. Since the service was so efficient, after eating, we still had time to zip over to Magic Island to stroll around, take in the scene and enjoy the sunset before heading back to the airport. Our last evening in Hawaii was really special thanks to this delightful restaurant!

All of the window seats were empty. In fact the restaurant was nearly empty. We were told the only option for us was the inconspicuous booth at the back of the restaurant. Not a good start. The food was okay. There was more than we were expecting, however the short ribs were a little tough. The ambiance, it was nice and empty by the time we left. Overall, what had been something we'd been looking forward to for years turned out to be a dismal disappointment. The experience left us feeling unwelcome, particularly because it seemed the staff were uncomfortable with two men simply going out for lunch. Being a Black and Asian couple shouldn't have any bearing on how paying customers are treated, but unfortunately, that's how the experience felt to us. We can overlook mediocre food or service, but feeling judged or unwelcome is something we won't overlook. We were there as paying customers and deserved to be treated with the same courtesy and respect as anyone else. Unfortunately, this is a place we won't be returning to, and based on our experience, we would not recommend it to others.

5 Stars - Goma Tei Ramen…read more Goma Tei Ramen - Ala Moana 1450 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814 Visited: September 6, 2026 This was my first time at Goma Tei Ramen, and I really enjoyed it! I ordered the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen, Level 3 ($19.75), and it was excellent. Level 3 definitely brought the heat--it was very spicy, but just as importantly, it was incredibly flavorful. I loved it! The others in my party all seemed to really enjoy their meals as well. We also had Wakame Tan Tan Ramen ($14.99 each), a Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl ($15.99), and Seafood Fried Rice ($19.99). Our subtotal was $89.21 before tax. The service was fast and friendly, and overall it was a great first experience. If you enjoy ramen with some serious spice and plenty of flavor, the Level 3 Spicy Tan Tan is definitely worth trying. I'll definitely be returning!

I was able to go for lunch on a random weekday which had zero wait thankfully. I ordered their Tan Tan Ramen with Pork Tonkatsu. They offer to keep the tonkatsu on the side but I like when the breading absorbs some of the flavor from the broth. The noodles were al dente and the tonkatsu was tender. I think the price is decent and the food comes out pretty fast, but the soup was grainy and had a layer of sourness that didn't hit right for me.

My bf and I both got the $35 meal sets. I also ordered a frozen beer and I thought the whole thing would be a slushie but it's only the top. Anyway it was fun and delicious. Service - no complaints. TLDR: do yourself a favor, don't ruin your night in Waikīkī, skip this place…read more The food: I ordered a tonkatsu ramen, karaage, and a roll. First off, for a $25 ramen bowl, the ramen had small broken pieces of meat that disintegrated into the bowl of ramen, the ramen itself was stuck together like a package of undercooked instant ramen, and the soup barely covered the noodles, was SO incredibly salty I couldn't even eat it and had to water it down with my cup of water. The kaarage was ok, only 4 pieces in a serving and the best part was probably the sauce that had some flavor. Nothing special. To top off this meal, $15 for a California roll that looks like a $5 side dish size that you'll likely need 3 servings of to fulfill a meal was the most disappointing part. The rice broke off easily, the roll was loosely done and picking it up with chopsticks to dip some soy sauce? Forget it...impossible since it just broke into pieces and I'm fishing for the remnants of my roll. $58 for this terrible meal? I know inflation is real but this is not even worth $25. After this meal, I was incredibly thirsty so a lot of MSG must've been in that salty soup that I already added half my cup of water into to make it somewhat edible. Never would I ever recommend this restaurant, there are so many amazing restaurants in Waikiki that are worth the visit instead
