I was tempted by several smoothies but ultimately went with the chocolate protein açaí bowl, which I didn't actually eat until hours later. It was a bit runnier than a typical açaí bowl, but I actually really liked it. I'd happily order it again next time, but I also want to try one of their many smoothies. Keyword: many. This menu is huge. I also grabbed one of the propitious mango ice cream things, which is one of those items I will probably auto grab whenever I see it. They had other flavors of these in the cooler, but mango always has my heart.

I have broken many bones, at one point due to an accident, at the same time due to this accident, I had a collapsed lung, 3 broken ribs, and a broken collar bone and this still could not compete with the pain of this GOUT. I went to my doctor back and forth for 2 years and he would mainly give me steroid shots (I know they were bad for me) but the short term relief was welcome more than the shots being bad for me. After at least 10-15 doctors visits and a ton of wasted money, I told myself I would stop in the health food store across the street from my home in April Sound that i drove by every day, praying that it would have something to help me, anything to stop the pain. I walk in and there is the person i had been hearing about, Dr. Claire smiling and eager to help. She asked how could she help, I told her exactly what i was going through, she said follow me, swiped the last bottle off of the shelf and said, follow these instructions and come back and see me in 10 days and tell me what you think. I am thinking to myself, I have heard how wonderful she is, but there is no way. So i took them across the street, did exactly as the bottle said and BAM, it started going away that quickly after an hour or so. These other reviewers talking about her decor and old produce are freakin idiots, WHO CARES, please go somewhere else then and get someone that has no clue on how to truly help you. If you want to to a place where the owner truly cares and knows better than most doctors and can generally help most of your health problems, PLEASE go talk to Dr. Claire and her daughter and staff, I GUARANTEE you, you will be back in her store thanking her for providing you her incredible knowledge and helping your day to day health be in a better place. I was late to my accounting class every Monday/Wednesday/Friday simply because I had to stop in to get my morning fix. I'm now rounding out my first year post grad (I live in Houston now) and I still make an effort to come back and stock up on dry mixes. I've brought my boyfriend to experience the drinks as well! There were shops popping up on every corner, and while I always loved acai bowls, they were pretty much the same no matter where you went. And after leaning pretty hard into this trend for a while, I reached acai over-saturation. Fast forward to recent times and I was excited to check out Nautical Bowls when it opened. The menu looked pretty unique, and it had been quite a while since my last bowl. Each weekend would come and go and I would still manage to not stop in. Today, I was sitting on the couch about to doze off. I had two choices: give into the nap Gods, and probably set myself up for a poor night of sleep ahead, or get up and finally make that trip to Nautical Bowls. I chose the latter, and as I mentioned above, I'm so glad I did. I walked in and stared at the menu for an awkwardly long time. Each item looked appealing and it seemed like they were all only 1-2 ingredients different from the last. I considered even building my own, but that thought was fleeting. Let's just roll with one of the chosen items. There's always a future visit where we can get crazy with something custom. So I went with the Blue Bay Bowl: Blue Majik, Açaí, Coconut, Spirulina Chia, Granola, Banana, Strawberries, Coconut Butter Crumbles. I asked what Blue Majik and Spirulina were: I was told both had a coconut cream flavor. I was also told Spirulina was an algae. That almost swayed me away, but I didn't want to be a basic b. Algae, you say? I aint scared. It turns out, this bowl met every single aspect of the fantasy I had in my head when I was debating between taking a nap and coming here. It was amazing. Every bite. It definitely was not your grandmother's acai bowl, either. There was a lot going on and I loved every aspect of it. And as promised, there was no shortage of coconut cream. I will absolutely be back because I want to try pretty much everything on the menu. Welcome to the 'hood, Nautical Bowls!
