    Mama's Hooch & Holler Flight
    Jo H.

Being at Bahama Breeze here in Orlando makes me excited and a bit sad at the same time. I still don't understand why they closed down the Broward locations, but it is what it is, so I'm gonna enjoy this moment. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with loud chatter and classic Caribbean tunes. As soon as my cousin and I sat down, we looked over the menu to decide what to order. For drinks, my cousin ordered The Ultimate Margarita while I ordered Mama's Hooch & Holler Flight. When the server brought our drinks, we cheered to celebrate my birthday week. The flight consisted of three different drinks: Bahama Mama, King Carnival, and Painkiller. Each drink was flavorful and well-balanced. My cousin wasn't feeling his drink as it wasn't strong enough for him. Our food arrived right in the middle of our conversation. Coconut shrimp appetizer, grilled salmon with a side of plantain, and blackened mahi tacos with a side of rice & beans. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. We both declined ordering dessert because we were too full. Thanks for an enjoyable evening cuz.

I'm giving this a two star because our server was awesome she worked there for 10 years. My husband worked there for 5 back in the day so they were able to chat back and forth about the good old days when the food was so much better. So let's get to the food it was absolutely horrible. I got three shrimp tacos and a black bean soup costing well over $20 with a tip. Tacos were served to me cold. The tortilla was dried out and hard as a rock like chewing shoe leather. The shrimp was just slightly warmed. I don't know I was expecting to bite into a nice hot crispy shrimp taco I've gotten better at a box truck. Very disappointed. The soup was actually good but lukewarm. The only thing that saved the night was the key lime pie. My husband said it's still tasted exactly the same as it did 17 years ago using the same recipe and serving a big thick piece. Yeah! They'll be closing in about a year and rebranding into something else probably a good thing. I won't be back.

Okay this is ridiculous. We went three nights in a row we loved the food and drinks so much. My ONLY complaint was the service the first night. I have a special needs daughter and our server looked at her with disgust. She never needed up checking in on us and was incredibly rude. Luckily the next two nights we had a different server. They were amazing. Try the Rum Punch and Painkiller!

Over spring break decided to stop in with other family members for some dinner. Ample parking spots with an outside seating area. The vibe was very chill and relaxed. Lots of Caribbean tunes mixed in to maintain the ambiance. Our server wasn't the friendliest but we enjoyed our own company. The food was hit or miss. Some of us enjoyed our dishes while those that ordered the fish didn't have quite the same experience as it was not cooked through. They did take it off the bill but only after having to be reminded to do so. Nonetheless the kids enjoyed their drinks and the appetizers were satisfying. Would return to sample other dishes and of course the drinks.

Great food, good time... out here celebrating my graduation with my family. I had the vegan dish and it was awesome... definitely ask for the vegan option. Another great dine at Bahama Breeze. Enjoy. Live, love and laugh - Sha

Well, they had a great 30-year run, it's so sad to hear Darden is closing all of the Bahama Breeze locations, I wish they could at least keep the original store running; however, it too will be closing its doors by April 5th 2026. This was my second employer after moving to FL back in 2001. I worked at this restaurant for 5-years and it was a memorable time in my life. Back than all of the food was made from scratch and we only served dinner. Even after opening for lunch a year or so after I started, everything was still made from scratch but many of the soups and sauces were prepared in a test kitchen then delivered to us daily. We used to achieve $14+ million in food sales alone annually, which was amazing back then. I have to say that I haven't dined in at this location in years now, and after hearing they were closing I had to stop in at least one more time for nostalgia purposes. Well after our experience I can see why things are just not going well for the company. They closed down their brick oven, stopped making fresh tossed pizzas and fire roasted shrimp. No more toasted Cuban bread with crouton butter and parmesan cheese, fresh from the oven, huge mistake. No more beef/chicken/shrimp/veggie/mushroom kebabs? How dare you!! They did away with the hand breaded beer-battered onion-rings, we used to make these with Abita beer from the bar. The original conch chowder is gone and replaced with a cream based one, WTF!? The Ropa Vieja is removed from the menu, and so is the Tres Leches, which was a recipe from the mother of one of original employees back in 1996, an absolute best seller. We also used peel and painstaking slice, soak, and fry fresh plantain and malanga chips daily that was served with a delicious and fresh tuna ceviche that was killer, no wonder business is down. Back when I was working at this location there was a two hour wait Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a line out the door until the kitchen closed at 12am. There was almost never a time where I came into work during service where it wasn't absolute chaos at every station and tickets hanging to the floor. The only days we were closed were Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Bahama Breeze on I-drive was the place to be for dinner, drinks, and Live music. We came on a Saturday night and it was dead in here, no live music, no steel drums, nothing reminiscent of the old days. The restaurant is still as beautiful as I remember, I honestly hope they don't tear it down because there are so much beautiful wooden beams used in the structure and interior. Staff provided exceptional service as they always have and our meals were out relatively fast. I ordered an Aruba Red Beer ($7), Fish Tacos (3) with a side of seafood chowder ($19), Nancy decided on the Fried Coconut Shrimp Tacos (3) with a side of black bean soup ($18.50). The soups were good overall but I wish they had the old conch chowder available, bummer! I was very happy with my tacos but Nancy's were not very hot. I honestly think they did not fry the coconut prawns fresh and this is why they were more lukewarm than hot. We also ordered the Key Lime Pie ($10) to share and fortunately they are still using the original recipe and making these in-house, so great job there! Our server, Samantha C., was great! We had a great chat about our history working at this location, I was amazed and saddened at the same time to find that she had been working here for 10-years and now they are closing the doors, what a shame. All-in-all, I hate to see this store close up because it will most likely be replaced with something more generic. I guess that is just a sign of the times. At the end of the day, Bahama Breeze will always have a place in my heart.

Bahama Breeze in Orange County is one of those chain spots that you can always count on. The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and surprisingly affordable, which makes it an easy go-to for a laid-back meal. The atmosphere brings fun island vibes without trying too hard -- upbeat, colorful, and relaxing. The staff here are genuinely friendly and helpful, and service has been steady every time I've visited. Whether you're grabbing drinks, splitting appetizers, or settling in for a full meal, everything comes out tasting great. A solid, reliable spot that never disappoints. Perfect for casual nights out or whenever you're craving a little tropical escape!

Too little too late for me to finally try and enjoy Bahama Breeze Orlando. The restaurant on Idrive along with all its other locations will close down soon and I am sad to see it go. Everything we ate was delicious. Our service from Jasmine was honest and caring. She made the best recommendations. And the space is plentiful. I'm interested to see what Darden will transform the space into. I wish I could've had way more days of way more coconut shrimp.

We booked a reservation there because they can accommodate a large party and we had about 16 people. We understand that it is in a tourist spot on international Drive so we understand that it could get busy and crowded. We sat outside in the back patio area, where there was live music. The person playing in the band playing was definitely a nice touch and add to the ambience. Our wait staff was nice and not rude. However there was some issues with service. Out of all the people that ordered the food are senior VP. The seniority at the table was the last one to get his food, which was only a salad. I ordered the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and rice and plantains. The steak was not good. The chimichurri sauce was OK. I had to ask for more chimichurri sauce to help mask the flavor of the meat. I found the rice to be pretty good and the plantains were cooked well. We ordered a few appetizers and the firecracker shrimp was yummy. I give that 10. It was crispy enough and a good size bite . Ordered two of those and then ordered one set of buffalo sauce, chicken wings, and one set of spicy jalapeño barbecue sauce, chicken wings. They both came with ranch and celery. I really enjoyed the wings. The jalapeño has a little cake. I would give the spice level a six out of 10. For drinks, I ordered a Bahama Rita and that was yummy. Then I ordered a classic Cadillac margarita and that was strong. Teammates ordered beers and some of the drinks and it seemed like everyone was pretty much pleased with drinks and appetizers. Food did take a while to get to everyone like I said our senior VP was the last one to get his plate which was a salad as a meal. That definitely didn't fare well with him. I know our waiter did the best you could I'd like to believe. I wouldn't recommend the chimichurri skirt steak. Colleague had the pork chop and said it was good. They didn't like that. It was on a bed of sweet potatoes though. Would I come here again when I'm in the area? Maybe if they offered a discounted admission into some of the amusement park places. Wouldn't be my first choice.

We came to Bahama Breeze for lunch around 11:30 ok Saturday and had amazing service and food. I had a strawberry mojito- pretty good, however what I did not realize was the strawberry portion came as a portion of their strawberry daiquiri, atop my traditional mojito (almost like a dollop). It was unexpected- I love mojitos and this was an absolute first. After the strawberry portion thawed some, and I could mix it into the drink, it was good. We shared appetizers- beef empanadas and yucca cheese sticks- both were incredible! If you are familiar with either item, i highly recommend both. Both were hot and fresh, and came with dipping sauces which were all delicious! For lunch (party of 3) , we had the honey chicken sandwich- great flavor, crispy chicken, crispy well done fries. All delicious. I had the Jamaican Jerk Chicken plate- the chicken was great- favorable, generous portion and cooked well, served with rice, black beans and plantains- to be honest, the sides were just ok to not very good. I think plantains were alright, could have been cooked longer. The rice was decent (yellow), but the black beans weren't good. I did not like their flavor , especially paired with the jerk chicken. Lastly, the plain rain bowl- a real pile of goodness! I did not try it, but it looked great and my friend really enjoyed it (but I'll say I'm not sure I'd like it as it has those black beans, of which I did not like). We did not have dessert. The service was wonderful! I wish I could remember our serves name as she was great. We would come back- the place was so clean and just gives a great vibe for Saturday lunch.

I vent been to a Bahama Breeze in years! I love the Caribbean Cabana/ Island resort vibe of this Darden concept. The service was good. The server was very polite and helpful. My guest and I got Coconut Shrimp tacos with a side salad. The tacos were delicious! The shrimp was light and flavorful! The pineapple salad that went with it was really good too! I will definitely be back!

It was 30 minutes from our hotel, so I was hopeful that it wouldn't disappoint! We got there relatively early (20 minutes after they opened for the day), and nobody else was there, so that was kind of awkward, as was being told to order from a kiosk (or use the QR code at the table), rather than give my order to a human. But the kiosk allowed us to kind of 'shop' before making our decision, so that was good. Since we were the only customers, everything came out fast and fresh (in fact, his came out a few minutes before mine, so I had to steal his fries until mine came out, lol) Hubs got the Ultimate Smash Burger and Fries, which was delicious. Soft bun, big burger, delicious fries. I got the Chicken Dippers, and y'all - they were HUGE! And you got SIX of them! Well-seasoned and well-fried, with a flavor that I know I've had before (spice-wise), but I couldn't put my finger on. I ended up only eating two of the tenders, and brought the other 4 home for leftovers. The staff were all super-friendly and attentive. They gave me a box/bag for my leftovers, and bussed our trays when we were done. Seating is ALL tables, so if you're a "Booth Person" you might be bummed. But the seats were comfy, even on a bigger tushie like mine. Paper towels, salt & pepper, and ketchup were on the tables. The only 'con' for me was the hush puppies... it had pieces of corn in it. This is a personal preference, of course, but I like my HPs without pieces of corn or onions, so I didn't ding them for that! Great job to everyone here, everything was delicious. It's on my "Must Go Back" list for next time I'm in the area.

Rachel apologized and worked to get us someone else to take care of us. After that, we settled in and enjoyed the rest of our dinner. I ordered the Beef Empanadas, the Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon (comes with Mashed Sweet Potato and Green Beans) and a Dragon Fruit Margarita. The Dragon Fruit Margarita was delicious. I didn't want to get full before receiving my food so I took sips while we waited. It was hard not drinking it all too quickly. It was good. Located in CityWalk, we walked into a space that leans heavily into the idea of mixing Japanese-inspired dishes with classic American comfort food, creating a menu that feels more like an experience than a traditional restaurant. The interior has a fun, energetic atmosphere with colorful decor, making it a popular stop before or after visiting the nearby parks. The energy in the room is lively, with a mix of families, groups, and couples, and the layout includes a bar area that stays active throughout the evening. The biggest draw is the "burgushi," which combines burger and sushi elements into one dish. It sounds like a gimmick at first, but we found that some of the combinations actually work surprisingly well. The sushi options are creative, with specialty rolls and presentations that make the dishes stand out, while the burgers provide a more familiar option for anyone who is not looking for seafood. We tried a few of the specialty rolls and found them well executed, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations that did not rely solely on the novelty of the concept. The burgers are solid and offer a reliable backup if you are not in the mood for sushi. The menu has a good variety, so groups with different preferences can usually find something they enjoy, and the playful presentation of many dishes adds to the overall experience. Beyond the main dishes, the appetizers are also worth exploring. The crab rangoon dip is one of the more popular choices and fits well with the restaurant's style, offering a fun twist on a familiar flavor that we found enjoyable as a shared starter. The fries and shareable items make it a good place for groups, especially if you want to try multiple things instead of committing to just one entrée. The variety across the menu encourages sharing, and the portions are generous enough that ordering a few appetizers alongside the mains works well. Service can vary depending on how busy the restaurant gets, and we noticed that wait times can become longer during peak hours. Reservations are helpful, especially around park closing times when many visitors are looking for a place to eat. We arrived a bit early and found the bar area to be a good option while waiting, and the overall environment made the wait feel less inconvenient. The staff were friendly and handled the busy flow with efficiency, though the kitchen pace can slow when the restaurant is at capacity. The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is worth visiting for the experience and creativity behind the menu. While not every item will be something you would order repeatedly, the combination of sushi, burgers, and playful dishes makes it stand out from typical CityWalk restaurants. It is a place that works best when you go in expecting something fun and different rather than a traditional sushi or burger restaurant, and the balance of novelty and quality makes it a memorable stop during a visit to the area.

My daughter loved the stuffed shrimp platter and my wife truly enjoyed the seafood roll. We did think $8.95 for 1/2 a baguette garlic bread was a bit pricey as an appetizer. Great service, fun trivia and excellent customer service in all aspects of the meal. Would definitely eat here again! Special thanks to Alex for his jocularity and his awesomeness in jokes and being there to banter back and forth almost to the "crack" of dawn! Also a special thanks to Amabel for such an awesome job in taking care of us! You both are some of the best customer service representatives I've ever met!

Like, all who come to this establishment are important. We certainly had a great time. Food, good but not great. The gumbo was over salted and so was the crab boil. The hush puppies were so yummy with the provided remoulaude. Whoever put in the Cajun seasoning was heavy handed. I let them know but the rest of my party was pretty hungry so I let them have it. They thought it was salty also but they just asked for regular drawn butter to try to eke out the salt. For dessert we got key lime pie and strawberry shortcake. Key lime needs more key lime. The strawberry shortcake would be better if the cake wasn't so sweet. Their desserts need balance. Located in Universal CityWalk. After 6 is free parking.

I rarely leave reviews, but the displeasing behavior of the host manager named Rami at The Palm…read more(Hard Rock Hotel) leaves me with no choice. He desperately needs a lesson in basic customer service and human respect. After a long day at Universal Studios with our kids, we were fortunate to find a late 9:00 PM reservation for dinner at The Palm. We arrived around 9:05 PM, and while waiting near the seating area, Rami approached us and abruptly announced that our reservation had been canceled. Naturally, I was confused, as I thought my husband had booked it online, and didn't say anything about cancelling it. He was parking the car at that moment, and he was not with me. Before I could even process what was happening, Rami raised his voice and snapped aggressively at me, saying, "Your reservation was canceled, but I am getting you a table, okay?" As I hesitated in shock, he literally yelled at me in an irritated, condescending tone: "YOUR RESERVATION WAS CANCELED! BUT I AM GETTING YOU A TABLE!!" He spoke to me as if he were scolding a child. This was not acceptable or normal hosting. Right behind us was a white family with a 9:00 PM reservation. Rami instantly shifted his demeanor, welcoming them in a calm, polite, and respectful tone. The contrast was impossible to ignore. When my husband arrived and attempted to show him the reservation, Rami cut him off mid-sentence and yelled at him as well: "I got this. I'm working on it, okay?" Refusing to be dismissed, my husband showed him the OpenTable email confirmation. Seeing the active confirmation, Rami's eyes went wide, and without saying a single word of apology, he walked us to a table. I cannot help but wonder: would he have raised his voice, aggressively barked orders, and been condescending to us if I weren't an Asian woman with an accent? This went far beyond poor customer service; it felt deeply disrespectful and racially motivated. What should have been a wonderful family Sunday night at the end of our vacation was completely ruined by this arrogant, rude, and foolish individual. How does a high-end establishment like The Palm allow someone like Rami to host? Management needs to seriously audit their staff and hire people who reflect the reputation the restaurant claims to have. In addition, if the reservation system was what caused the reservation to be cancelled, please fix the issue immediately. Running a resturant takes more than just good food.
