Starving for food and needed to check to see if my gate still there three hours before my flight. We all know the feeling eh??? Anyway I'm hungry, Bordering hangry, and I wanted something different. This place was well themed, I loved the colors and the fans. The hostess was really good and quick. I arrived and ordered an appetizer and a drink. It did take some time to get to me, but at the same time. It was BUSY. Although I got a table quickly not everyone was as lucky. I ordered the coconut mojito, water, and the spinach dip to start. The dip was tasty, chips crispy, and they served diced tomato and onions with it! I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos, with broccoli. I added some pepper to the broccoli but it was already seasoned so I made it a bit spicier. The sauce they had with it was a creamy delight. My husband ordered the kids grilled chicken and asked for it to be jerked. And it was perfect for him. The size and side of broccoli just right. Now to the adult portion of this review the alcoholic beverage was creamy, it was a good pour. The glass was unique. The added garnish of sugarcane was new to me and I was told to chew it. Clueless restaurant. They have 20 people waiting for a table and they have a 15 seat bar that is "not open". They have quite a few tables open and yet they don't seat people. Crazy loss of opportunity. Just seat people and give them a cup of coffee while they are waiting. Instead they are rude and yell at people who try to sit at the bar. The food is mediocre at best. They serve selected items from the regular Bahama Breeze restaurant menu. I am a regular at an Orlando location. Seating is tables, booths and the bar. Ceramic plates but plastic utensils. Like a meal to go plastic package. I was in a hurry and my server was very responsive. The drink menu had descriptions but no prices so she quoted some rates. $4 for an ice tea etc. The chicken pasta had the familiar sauce but the similarities ended there. Big bowl of pasta with very light toppings so mostly a huge bowl of macaroni. The chicken looked like it had been boiled and shredded so no grill involved. The really small amount of asparagus was just the stalks which in some cases were too chewy to eat. I had to hunt for the mushrooms but I spotted one or two small pieces. I have to admit compared to the $5 bag of Cheetos they sell by the gate this was ok airport food. Just not something I would seek out again. read more

The sandwich was okay (bread, cheese, egg, sausage) a long with the potatoes, but it was all pretty basic and didn't have a ton of flavor. I'd try the breakfast empanadas next time. You do not expect much from airport food, much less at breakfast time, but you expect a certain limited expectation that it will be edible and service would be acceptable. The food sucked. No other way to say it. I ordered their "Classic Breakfast", which consists of eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat, and toast. I went with bacon. I also got a glass of orange juice. Eggs tasted off. The Orange Juice tasted watered down. The potatoes lacked any seasoning. The dish felt grease laden. I ate some of it because I needed to be able to have something to get through the flight. I left most of it behind. Service sucked too. There was one other person besides me patronizing the place. When you are in an airport, your food choices are limited. When it is 6 o'clock in the morning, your choices diminish substantially. Finding ourselves in this situation, my dining partner and I gave this restaurant a shot. I'm going to say the food merited about 3.4 stars; however, fantastic service brought the dining experience to a 4 star (no thanks to Yelp's full star-or-nothing rating system). Our waiter was prompt, brutally honest about the menu options and quick to fill our coffee cups. Due to his blunt thoughts on the breakfast menu, we ended up with orders to satisfy our bellies and get us on our way. As I previously stated, the food was good; not great. I had Breeze's Breakfast Bowl. It was a good combo; however, it wasn't the prettiest presentation of food I've ever received. After being dissuaded from the jerk style breakfast, my dining partner had the breakfast tacos. They were also good, not great. As for the chow, I felt my scrambled eggs looked like the "powdered" variety, as they came out in clumps or marbles (see photo). Toast options were white or wheat, and they provide packaged butter. My flight got delayed 90 minutes so I popped in here for a late lunch. The bar top was full and the restaurant was also full and there were 5 people waiting in front of me... I was seated within five minutes. The server was quick to get me water and take my order. I went with the Jerk Chicken plate and it feels like the food only 6-7 minutes to come out. Jerk Chicken Plate ($19.99) - This dish comes with two chicken breasts, half a plate full of rice, black beans, grilled plantains and extra glazed pineapple sauce for the chicken. I loved the chicken... It was red and blackened but still tender and juicy on the inside. The chicken itself had a lot of flavor, spicy but no heat at all. They already glazed it with some of that sweet pineapple sauce to give it some play against the savory meat which worked well together. A little sweet, a little spicy but not too much of either. There was a ton of rice, pretty much half a plate full and only a small amount of black beans. I don't want half a plate of black beans to match, but it would be nice to have a small cup worth so that I could pour it over the rice and have the beans last more than four bites. That was my only gripe. The four pieces of plantains were browned on the edges with a nice golden glisten to it which is how I like it. I didn't order anything else, so I cannot speak to the other dishes, but the Jerk Chicken was great and a good sized portion. The servers were friendly and checked on me a few times. The food came out fast. Not much more you can ask from a sit down restaurant in an airport. Oh, they do have tropical drinks... If that's the only thing you want, then go for it! We screwed up by going here. First of all, I thought we could just get some of their appetizers. Not thinking it's in the airport so they don't even have those things on the menu. Then our flight was at a different gate, and we didn't realize we would have to go through security again. We won't make that mistake again. But service was good and so were our tacos. We ordered pineapple coconut martinis, mahi tacos and coconut shrimp tacos. Not sure if rice was an option but I would have liked that better than fries. Stopped in and occupied a couple of bar seats for some lunch. Place was hopping, 25 minutes waiting for the tables. Andrew at the bar was doing a fantastic job directing traffic for the mobile order pick-ups while never missing a beat, keeping our glasses full. My husband and I were on a long layover when decided to try this. We only got margaritas and the empanada's. My husband only had 1 but I ate 2 I hate wasting food. I was violently ill after 5 hrs while stuck on our flight home I held back getting sick both ways till we landed where I then preceded to deal with horrible vomiting and the other end. The service provided by the bartender - Darwin, was top rate! The food was a good portion to eat in the restaurant, take out on the airplane or savor at home. The atmosphere for a heavy traffic area on foot, yes the train system to avoid exiting security. My wife and I had 5 hours for our connecting flight and managed to depart from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4 without any problems. Arrived early so we opted to sit down and dine instead of grab and go. They had paper menus for breakfast (until 10am) and lunch. The menu was limited but provided a decent variety of affordable options ranging from $13-19. Though we were seated quickly, the wait to be greeted and have our order taken seemed to be about 10-15 minutes. We knew we had time, but if we weren't delayed after we sat we may have missed boarding (we had an hour). Bahama Breeze is one of my favorite restaurants in the Orlando area, but this location at the airport has a very limited (as in a couple of sandwich options, a couple of seafood/chicken dishes, and that's it) menu. The fries were good, but the chicken I had was over cooked. Decent drink menu, which is nice for hot summer days, but again, not nearly as good of drinks as the non-airport Bahama Breeze locations. read more
