The bobbles and beads were pricy ( like $30 to greater than $125). Only one true farmers place. A fair amount of dog collars, dog " bones", and dog leashes. Once inside, there was a line of 2 people. I grabbed a tray and tongs from on top of the display case on the right side. It's a small, cozy building. Another customer had come in and was getting bread at the same time, so we just had to maneuver around each other. To the left is where most of the sweet breads are located. There are 4 cabinets full of bread. There's another cabinet on the right-hand side of the door that contains some sweet breads as well and a clear box-like container that holds the bollios. We chose 8 different sweet breads, which came out to $12.80, which I was surprised at how affordable it was. The cashier was very nice. Will definitely come back again in the future.

I recently married and moved to Katy, so I've been checking out all the area offers. There are…read morestrip malls all over the place and lots of hidden specialty shops. I had a huge pecan tree in my backyard growing up, so I've always loved anything pecan. The Great Texas Pecan Candy Co. has two locations, one in the Texas Hill Country town of Gruene and this one. I think I have seen the one in Gruene but don't remember if I actually went in. Gruene is full of this type of specialty shops and it's really nice to have something like this in Katy. The location is good, not hard to see from Mason Road. It occupies a small space appropriate for the enterprise, which looks to have quite a bit of online traffic for special events and those poor souls that are isolated from civilization. The store hours are limited so you gotta plan your visit. I am pretty certain I was greeted by the owner Jeff, looked like his wife was working in the back. He was a polite and friendly man, ready to chat and provide samples of all of their standard items. They have an excellent variety of pecan candies: toffee (best!), chocolate, brittle, popcorn, candied/praline, spicy, salty and mint in different forms; truffles, cakes, pies, tarts, etc. It's all pretty stinking good. They package it in several different ways and sizes; fancy tins, bags and baskets. They have a desserts available, as well, and advertise that they try to always have something on hand if you are in a pinch and don't have time to wait on a special dessert order. Check out the photo with prices. All in all, this is a pretty cool place in a good location with nice folks running it. I'd like to patronize it every other day. Unfortunately, I'd be fat as a tick and if I ever want to get Yelp Elite, I need other reviews. Try them out by stopping by or having it shipped to your house. You won't be disappointed.

I came here for chocolate gift since they do have chocolate and pecans. I ended up with some chocolate but it wasn't what I expected entirely. Probably not the best place if chocolate is more of what you want. I was wanting some chocolate covered pecans but they didnt seem to have that at the time which surprised me. The staff was helpful otherwise to the best of their ability. I knocked a star only because for me, the prices were too high. I probably would look elsewhere next time for some pecan gifts although it has nothing to do with the quality here. I did end up with good gifts but it hurt my wallet a little more than I wanted.

He spoke to me in Chinese and asked me what I liked and gave recommendations about his offerings. What stood out to me were the Boudin kolache and bacon and sausage kolaches. The bread here around the fillings is very airy and fluffy and subtly sweet-- exactly what you want in a kolache. The fillings of most kolaches come in both mild and spicy versions. I recommend the spicy of every kolache as the spice is not too unbearable. The donut that I had was not the best blueberry cake doughnut I've ever had. It had a bit of a off or old oil taste that I noticed while I was eating the doughnut. On top of that, the blueberry flavor was not that pronounced. What I did like about the donut is that it had great texture-- was crispy on the outside while still remaining fluffy and light on the inside. The donut holes were by far my favorite thing. They were light and perfectly not too sweet. I could literally eat a dozen or two of these at a time. While the shop itself is not the most clean, this can be forgiven as you can tell that it is aone-man operation. I will certainly be back and I look forward to trying more of his spicy and mild kolache and his good variety of donuts.

The iced with sprinkles was beyond fluffy. It almost melted in my mouth. Chocolate cake was moist and the chocolate topping did not taste too sweet or artificial. The apple fritter was delicious. It was crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, and had the perfect amouny of apple filling. The owner even threw in a free donut hole for us.

They don't have a website, but some very outdated Facebook page confirmed that their hours today should have been until 1:00pm. I finally was able to find an Instagram page that appeared to be more or less up to date and indicated that Monday was the one day they close at noon. They should probably both update their TGTG app listing and their own front door.
