Strolling couples look happy, kids are having fun, the vendors are smiling, and all the dogs are wagging their tails. The food diversity is amazing here! We bought Mexican tamales, Indian samosas, Thai dumplings, Argentine chorizo, Venezuelan empanadas, and some good old American sourdough (probably the best we've ever tasted!), along with award winning honey, lots of fresh veggies, some gorgeous mushrooms, beef jerky, and some delicious cinnamon rolls. There were about 50 vendors last Saturday, a live guitarist and the cutest petting zoo. We will definitely be back here more often.

The manager I believed welcomed me BACK. I said "Oh thank you", but in my head I was thinking this was my first time back in months, lol. I must have a twin, lol. Ok, back to the review. There's also plenty of seating in a quaint, charming little market setting, making it a great spot to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink. Pecans, produce, mushrooms, hummus, samosas, seasonal veggies, gluten free tamales, wild caught shrimp, sweet potato donuts, home roast coffee, jewelry, fragrance, juice, and pet treats were a few items that came to mind in remembering the market. They do have a bit of everything with few duplicates! The wild caught shrimp, mushrooms and burbz coffee were truly stand out for me, but the real treat, was that the few vendors I talked to really knew their stuff. I was craving some Kirby cucumbers since the ones that they sell at HEB, Kroger's, and Aldi's taste too bitter for the darker outer skin. I searched on Facebook Marketplace to see if any local gardeners was selling Kirby cucumbers from their summer harvest. I had no luck. Then, I remembered when I lived in Clear Lake, we always had Frobergs that my mum liked shopping at for fresh farm produce. Since I moved and live north. I knew I wasn't going to be driving an hour and more to Frobergs. I did a quick search on All Things Woodlands page to find Atkinson Farms in Spring. I had hoped to find something closer like in Conroe or Willis, nope. Luckily, Atkinson is open on a Sunday. The drive was long, but when I arrived I was happy to find an air conditioned mini country store. Low and behold, there was piles of Kirby cucumbers. I bought a lot. I also got some carrots and other produce. They had pickling cucumbers too. They sell jelly, jams, and pickled vegetables. The cashier said less and was pleasant to deal with. The store is clean and very organized. Everything that I got was extremely affordable at $12. They accept cash and card. Parking is out in front of a vineyard. I met a man and his sweet dog out front. When I got back home. I washed the cucumbers cut them up. Omg, they were so delicious, crisp crunch, slightly sweet, juicy, and amazing taste. I miss growing Kirby's. I can't wait to return for more!

Recently, we saw them share on Facebook that they had some strawberries ready for picking and we basically hopped out of bed and headed over there. You pay $3 per person and $2 per bucket to enter. My wife waited in life while I took our son to play on the playground, which he really enjoyed. Once she was done, we headed back to the strawberries. There were several areas you could choose from, and it was pretty obvious which areas had been picked over already and which hadn't. Some sections would only have a few decent strawberries, while others were full of only the biggest and brightest. We nearly filled up two buckets and it was only $24. Sure, we had to pick them and wash them, but we had enough strawberries to last us an eternity. And they were pretty tasty too. The market where you pay for the berries after also had other various produce items and meats. I added on a jar of pickles on top of the strawberry haul. We will probably have to make this an annual tradition!

There's tons of free parking just around the corner in the large onsite parking garage. The market itself is well attended by farmers, bakers, butchers, artisans, plant enthusiasts, and the community. I've been to this market several times now and am constantly impressed with the wide variety of options. Some local favorites include the fresh farmer's produce, sourdough bread vendors, fresh flower vendors, vegan options (shout out to Prophecy Foods with amazing vegan cheeses), and the ready to eat bites like Dumpling Haus. All of the vendors take credit cards which is convenient in case you forgot to bring cash. There's often live music and a few small tables to sit and sample your bounty and just enjoy the fresh air. While you are not going to find the cheapest bargain here, it feels good to help support small businesses, take part in a community activity, and score some healthy foods for you and your family. Definitely worth a visit!
