BLUF: Best meal I had while in Scotland. This is a cozy…read morespace that you can easily dress up or be casual in. The service is very friendly and attentive. The menu has so many Scottish foods in it, there's no doubt this is a Scottish fare restaurant. I did have to look some of it up because even other Scottish restaurants hadn't had things like cranachan or rumbledethumps on their menus. Ordered were: bread, beef stovies, lamb rump, slow braised beef short rib, cranachan, and chocolate brownie. The beef stovies is beef stew with a potato pancake hat served in a cast iron cauldron. Very cool presentation, and quite a tasty stew inside. I liked the small cut of everything, so it was easy to eat. The lamb was so tender and flavorful, without being overcooked. I substituted rumbledethumps for the polenta so I could try some, it was a lot like mashed potatoes with some extra flavor in it from the cabbage. The black garlic emulsion was a little earthy but went with the lamb so well as a result. My only fault would be the mint drizzle being too sweet for my taste. The short rib was masterful, essentially fall off the bone, and a good herby rub. The desserts were a step down from the mains. The cranachan felt like it had bromelain in it, breaking down my tongue as I was eating it. Outside of that sharpness, a very tasty and solid dessert. The brownie was heavy and fudgy, so if that's your type of brownie then it's here for you. Otherwise it's too much on a stomach already packing the amazing dinner preceding it. All in all, what a place, what a meal, recommended.

For the price and trying traditional scottish food, this is a solid restaurant. Very large…read moreportions. Make sure to make reservations before walking in. Good service and casual spot with friends/family. Cullen Skink - there were a lot of potatoes/veggies and was not too salty like some other places I tried in Scotland. It was good but nothing super special. 6/10 Haggis/Neeps/Tattis - good place to try, 7/10 Beef Short Ribs - very large portion, beef was well seasoned. 7/10

They were very nice on the phone and said no reservation needed that day and casual was fine. The space is really nice and classy as it says. The staff were all super nice!! Now the food, two of us had the Cote de something, basically a bone in ribeye. Talk about amazing!!! You could cut it with a fork, no kidding!!! No knife needed!! The garlic butter with it was not needed, but was also amazing, dipped my mashed potatoes in it. It isn't cheap nor overly priced, but for the classy place and the excellent meat and service it was worth it!!! I would rate this steak too 5 maybe top 3 all time!!! Most definitely will be back if/when in town!!

Waiter spent a great deal of time talking to us just as if we known him for a long time it was great. the level of friendliness and hospitality was very impressive. The menu is very nice and not expensive at all. TRUFFLED BRIOCHE- The dish is amazing even though I did not taste any truffle but there was a entire truffle mushroom itself there, the plate they presented it in was annoying to rest the silverware, was a bowl type of plate and the fork kept falling in lol GOLDEN BREEZE- the drink was suggested by our waiter and it was amazing cudos to him! GNOCCHI- WHAT an unfortunate plate. This was to me not a gnocchi.i love the fact that our waited noticed and made sure to ask me if everything was ok with my choice, that shows that the staff cares about customer service. The gnocchi was blend and tasteless it to me was more of a polenta and not a gnocchi it was cooked pan fried and not like a past should so it was not a great plate definitely not a gnocchi. I would definitely recommend the place, not the gnocchi but the place was pretty nice. come and have a try!

The mood in the bar is chilled, with nice mood lighting, good tunes and board games and books to use at your leisure should you want. There's even a microwave which you can use if you bring in your own food to eat! The kitchen bar is open during club hours too, so if you don't feel like dancing you can head on in to the kitchen and chill and/or eat and/or drink and/or play some board games at 2am!! The club is just as unique. there's parts of old furniture attached to the walls, lots of subtle nods to "The Big Lebowski" everywhere and lots of places to sit. There is a big quirky bar with all the mod cons including that lovely vintage tv playing some obscure Japanese films, of course. There's a big no frills dance area, complete with a wardrobe in the middle of the floor to dance around. There's not much in the way of flashy flashy lights, instead they have projections bouncing about the venue providing lighting changes and blasts from the pasts in the way of old footage and stuff. I've seen people stop dancing to reminisce at what they are seeing on the big projection screens. There is a nice set of standard lamps around to supply extra lighting around the tabled ares too. There is space for fowk to dance and sit and mingle with out feeling like a club, even though it kinda is. Friday and saturday nights see a good varied selection of club nights from 90's themed ones with bingo to indie stuff to b-sides to rawk to funk and everything in between. Um Did I mention you you get free toast?! PS. Check out the toilets for years worth of funny graffiti, art and poetry!

Sugo was a refreshing change after eating pub food across Scotland. We had the a pasta with pork…read more(spicy), the fettucine with ragu (chunks of beef), a salad and bread. All was delicious and flavorful. The salad was beautiful - everything you would want in a salad. I would have liked more cheese on my dish, but it was good. The pasta was also al dente - something I'm not accustomed to, but it was good and freshly made. Service was excellent. We were seated quickly and servers were attentive. It was a noisy place - very busy - but with a good vibe. We were seated near the kitchen so we could watch the chefs. One gentleman ran his ungloved hand through his hair, put the hat back on and then proceeded to grab a ball of fresh noodles and drop them in the water. The gloved hand wasn't used. I don't know what to think, but not very sanitary, but then nothing the boiling water wouldn't take care of either. ;) The cook staff were constantly busy and were not standing around. The system worked well and our meal was served quickly. A good thing when you're hungry. I would recommend Sugo to spice up your visit in Glasgow.
