the inappropriate and rude co-owner of Bagel World Thornhill
    Ally S.

I used to visit here every morning before work to grab a bagel and a coffee. Their bagels are mediocre at best, but the location was convenient for me, so I dealt with it. Over the last year, a new guy started working there... it seems that he's a co-owner (see pic attached from their Facebook page). Interactions with him have been extremely unpleasant as he seems to lack any common curtesy or customer service skills. He would often make comments about the fat content of what I was buying or what a "healthier option" would be for me to purchase instead. A few weeks ago I had forgotten my lunch and ran to grab a salad from their pre-made fridge items (which i don't normally do). I only opened the salad after getting back to work and after taking a bite (which tasted like vomit) I realized the salad had gone bad. Unfortunately I had already swallowed a bite. I immediately closed the container, and ran back to the restaurant to return the salad and get a refund. The guy I mentioned above, was at the cash counter. He gave me a dirty look the second he saw me entering with the salad I just bought 5 minutes prior. I explained that the salad was bad and asked for a refund, while at the same time opening the container so her can see the white mold on the cucumbers. His first response was "lady, you need to calm down, it's just a bad salad". I was shocked and asked if he's not worried about making people really sick, to which he responded "if you don't like it, don't eat here". After taking a good 10-15 minutes to issue my refund, he then handed me the refund receipt and said "I should charge you extra for your bad attitude". NEVER IN MY LIFE has anyone in the food service industry, let alone an owner, treated me as badly as this, ESPECIALLY since he was completely in the wrong. That night I spent 6 hours vomiting my brains out. The next morning I called in to report them to the public health department. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of this cesspool. Just awful.

This is my favourite place to get bagels. Whether you want thin or thick bagels, you need to come here. I especially love the everything/cheese thin bagel with cream cheese and salmon. This is the best combo ever. Not only do they have great bagels but they have a great selection of desserts, as well as coffee and tea. I come to this place a few times a month because these bagels are soooo addicting.

    Western omelette on everything

Surprised this place doesn't have near perfect ratings. Such a great, fresh bagel place. I always opt for a bagel to go, and get the western omelette - highly recommend.

$4.99 Breakfast with bottomless coffee!! 2 eggs any style with a choice of bagel! I would definitely come to Bagel World Thornhill for breakfast on weekdays after my spinning class upstairs! And great for early bird! from 6 AM!!!

The food is really good, but the staff is not friendly at all. They all look so tired and done with life, which brings down the mood.

Delicious bagels, various deserts a nice plus. Came to get some food to go so can't speak about the service.

Review Highlights - Bagel World Thornhill

As a born and bred Toronto girl living on the border of T-Hill, I figured I would bring the attention to everyone that a new Bagel World is alive and kicking up in Thornhill!

I recently ate my entire stash of bagels from both trips. The good news is that Kettleman's is coming to Etobicoke this fall. I still needed bagels, though. I headed to my local grocery store recently to get some. They weren't and aren't the same. On Saturday, I visited St. Urbain bakery and cafe, which makes a variety of Montreal-style bagels. I was in heaven looking at roughly a dozen different bagel flavours at the back of the store. A older woman asked what I'd like. She didn't come across as being warm. I asked for six sesame and six cheddar bagels. She said that it was $0.25 more for each cheddar bagel. I was good with that, although she didn't wait for me to acknowledge that I was good with it. I got all bagels in a paper bag. Yay! I thanked her. I was so happy. I felt like I had won the lottery, except that I had to pay for my goods. This bakery offers cakes, cookies, flatbreads, and more. I decided to simply get my bagels before I cleaned my entire chequing account out at this store. The woman at the counter was much more personable. She put my goodies in a plastic bag and threw in a couple of bagel bags. I used my debit card to pay. Credit cards aren't accepted. You can pay with cash, too. I have had both bagel varieties since my visit. They are soft and chewy where they should be. The cheddar is brilliant and yummy. I've never had a cheddar one before until now. It's worth shelling out a bit to have one. There is something about crispy, oven-melted cheddar that tastes delicious. I made myself an egg salad sandwich today. Some like celery in it. I do, but changed it up with green onion. It's so good with the sesame bagel. This bakery is in a plaza with parking all around it. There's a huge Starbucks cafe a couple of doors down, so it does get busy. I parked on the opposite side of where this bakery is and walked over. I'm glad that I can get my fix without doing a huge road trip out east. I am thrilled that I have found this bagel place. I am a happy Montreal-style bagel fan. (374)

And The tuna is not the best as well. I wished they used solid white tuna but obviously it is a cheaper tuna product. They have been here a while though so they must be doing something right I try to stay away but come back every few months to torture myself. Do I recommended? Hard to say. If you want a below average bagel, maybe some low quality tuna or horrendous service? Then be my guest. I'll still get my bagels from Bagel World or Kiva's They are much better products than here.

Location: Bayview North of Steele's in the Longos plaza Parking; There's a lot of free parking. It's pretty busy because the longos and it's near a Ramona's kitchen. But there's always parking. The place,: It's tiny when you first walk in you go to the spot where all the bagels are and you pick them using tongs into a bag is pretty tight in that area and you go around to where they bring out the bagels and then around where they're sweet treats and a counter. At this counter if you grab a bagel you can give it to them and get a sandwich made out of it my favorite is a toasted chicken salad no vegetables. You pay extra for vegetables and I'm too cheap to pay like a dollar for some cucumber. They have all different kinds of bagels the most popular is the rainbow bagel because more often than not it is low or not there. But don't fret because they're constantly making bagels all day and chances are there's something that's still warm to the touch because they've just brought it out! You also have some cooked food such as falafel and other things I've never ordered it but I know people that haven't said that they really like it. I am sticking to my chicken salad bagel. I think the chicken salad is delicious. I do notice that a lot of people get the egg salad and my friend swears by the smoke salmon and cream cheese. It is seriously tiny so the seating situation is zero but people don't realize, or some people don't realize, that that's actually a little mall and if you exit the store on the side you come upon a seating area where there's about 20 seats.. I've never not had a seat. I would like a lot? Yes of course I've been back many times this is one of my favorite bagel places. And let me say it again because I don't think the million other times I said it was enough, I love their chicken salad sandwiches.
