    BAGEL IS RAW DOUGH INSIDE
    Joe S.

For years, I went to the Bagel World in Manalapan. Never a bad bagel in 20 years. Then I moved and I was right by the Bagel World in Marlboro. We found that the bagels are not fully cooked and raw inside. We stopped going. I went this morning to the strip mall where the store is and decided to get a bagel. It was raw again inside and out (on one side). See the pic.

So the bagels were good. No complaints. Nothing special. However, the amount of cream cheese they put is way too much. Think it would taste better, with a lot less cream cheese!!! Since it's conveniently located by my boyfriends house I'm sure we'll be back for cheat meals :)

My go-to orders are the bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel or the Bomb sandwich on a bagel. Their everything bagel is solid because it's flavorful without being overly salty like some other spots. The French toast is decent too, although it can come out a little burnt sometimes. Same goes for the home fries... they're usually very good, but once in a while they can get overdone. They also add peppers, so it can be a little spicy for kids. Service is always quick, which makes it an easy breakfast spot to keep going back to.

In Marlboro Mall, you will find a bagel shop that offers breakfast to the Marlboro community. My…read morefirst time traveling around Marlboro Mall gave me the pleasant experience of entering Bagel Talk. Brand: 5/5 Despite the simple name, Bagel Talk displays itself with the wooden, easily identifiable logo. And despite the simple entrance, the interior makes way for a cozy vibe with the wooden-and-marble panels all over the walls. Website: 4/5 Every part of Bagel Talk's online presence perfectly encapsulates the bagel shop identity, which automatically gives it five stars, from the background image to the menus to the image presentations. While it does have the basic theme presented by Route 9 Shopper, it manages to make use out of what little it offers. Wait Time: 5/5 I did not have to wait for a long time for my order. Ambiance: 3/5 It had a warm interior despite the December weather, which is the most notable part of the ambiance. Nothing about the establishment became bothersome to me, for the television and the table space sufficed. The comfortable seats helped add to the cozy ambiance. The menu selection had an abundance of options stemming from bagels as the key ingredient. The overall interior design of the establishment separates the waiting line area with the dining area. It works in that it separates the people waiting in line from the people sitting down; but it does have its disadvantage. I also did have a problem ordering since the counters for those who ordered to go, and for those to stay had differences. I did become confused as to whether the staff would call out my name at the counter or while I sat. Also, the booth table I sat at was dirty. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Bagel Talk Bomb, which consisted of eggs, cheese, bacon, and sausage beneath an egg bagel, with a side of orange juice. I do not know if a menu change occurred, but I did not get home fries and instead got a Bagel Talk Bomb with the same ingredients but included peppers. Nonetheless, I appreciated the pleasant taste of Bagel Talk's well-heated signature dish. The sausage has the most prominent taste, giving it a meaty and inherently spicy quality. I cannot say for certain whether the egg bagels add any noticeable taste, but I will say that it does offer some taste despite not being toasted. The bagels also held their forms despite the bacon bits constantly falling off. I could barely taste the eggs and cheese though. Service: 5/5 The staff had patience with me, for I did feel lost due to the aforementioned ambiance. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The bagel dishes represent the establishment from the very name downwards. If I may suggest something, I have curiosity as to what a Marlboro sandwich would look and taste like. While a lot of the menu items do not have their own images on the website, it uses placement to make use out of what little the website theme offers. The Bagel Talk Bomb itself reflected the time it took to make it. Eating throughout the time there managed to be tolerable even as the afternoon rush started to happen, and a lot of care was put into the Bagel Talk Bomb. Concerning first impressions, I will say that Bagel Talk made a good one, for the ambiance reflects the brand perfectly. The coziness comes from both the brand and the heat inside, which might (dare I say) rival that of Starbucks. Frequenting the website itself had its own welcome ambiance. Inside the establishment, the ambiance did not try my patience while waiting for my order. My biggest issue with Bagel Talk had less to do with the service and more with the ambiance. I would suggest making it clear with clearly visible signs which counters would take the orders for to go and for to stay, and which ones would be for paying for the orders. I will say that the unique dish and the interior experience makes the overall price worth it. Rating: 4/5 Stars The experience was pretty decent, and I would like to see Bagel Talk represent Marlboro more. I would only consider Bagel Talk to be my first choice of breakfast spot if find myself in Marlboro Mall. Recommend To... Anyone looking for a breakfast spot that manages to maintain the cozy interior aesthetic.

We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Bowl of Mushroom Barley Soup- this was delicious. Hubs missed it and haven't had it for a long time. It was nice and thick. Homemade sweet potato knish- . This was surprisingly good and sweet. It reminded him of knishes from NYC, except it was puffier and fluffier. Potato Pancake- this was ok. Hubs had latkes in mind and was surprised that this was literally a pancake. Hot Pastrami Sandwich- this was pretty soft and flavorful. We had a choice of salad and chose cucumber salad. It was nice, light and refreshing. I got a 7 layer cake slice to go and was very disappointed with this. I found out it's made with margarine and I guess I'm not a margarine fan. We saw a sign that had salmon tips for 7.99/lb. Service was friendly and quick. Will return next time for dinner!
