The employee who wasn't busy finally came over and took my very simple order of five bagels. I actually really like the food here, it's great. But the past few times that I've ordered takeout from DoorDash to pick up, I've gotten a weird amount of pushback about picking up my order. Each time, the woman at the counter asks you to show the order details, on your phone, and then to hit the pickup button, which makes sense. I assumed it was because they wanted to prevent people from stealing food or trying to get extras, but EVERY time I've done it, there has been something wrong according to her. She didn't see something happen on the screen, or she wanted to something else. Every time, I have shown her me hitting the button. One of the times, she GRABBED MY PHONE pulled my phone closer to her over the counter to scroll through it and literally wouldn't release it when I tried to take it back. Another time, I literally had to ask "can I please have my sandwich" three times when she wouldn't believe that I'd hit the button even though DoorDash was showing a screen for me to review the order. Each pickup, I have told them my name, and my order, in addition to showing the order screen. It's ridiculous to get treated like I'm trying to steal my $13 bagel sandwich with a process that I've never had another store micromanage so closely. Like I said, the food is good but to be this worried about an order screen AND be rude about it is insane. I am not a Karen, you can look through my reviews. I just find having to go back and forth to prove I'm picking up a sandwich that I paid for to be a bit ridiculous. read more

I started getting bagels and cream cheese schemers at this Bagel Street Cafe when Tesla put their new V4 Supercharger in the parking lot. I discovered the food and service and the ease of getting my tram just the fuel they need to start out day - is like the much better Tesla Superchargers in the parking lot. The baker, Louie and his wife Tamm, are so quick and they get me what I need - with a quick and wry sense of humor. They just make our day! I got sausage and egg on a spinach Asiago bagel. The egg tasted like microwaved eggs, and the bagel didn't have quite enough Asiago cheese. It had a distinct herb flavor to it that wasn't spinach. The overall sandwich was good, but not very memorable. The service was friendly and the prices very affordable. I did appreciate the ample seating that they have. I had passed by this spot before and decided to take the boyfriend to have some breakfast bagels before work. I was really excited because it seemed like a good place with good foot traffic. We wait in line which wasn't long at all then are asked what we would like. My boyfriend choose the #4 which was a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and meat. She asks what cheese and my boyfriend was like what cheese do you have? Shen then rudely responds to look at the sign and points to a red signage stand that was TURNED AROUND and not in our view. I had to quit literally move the whole thing around for us to see the cheeses. Then my boyfriend asks if he can add cream cheese to the bagel. When its my turn I ask for the #4 which is just egg and meat. She asks me what meat and I ask her what meats do they have (because this was not on the signage she had rudely pointed to earlier) and begins to list the meats. I take a couple seconds to think what meat and within 5 seconds she begins to list the same meats again with the same monotone voice she had the entire time. I look to my boyfriend to ask him whether he thinks I should get bacon or sausage and within another 5 seconds she lists the meats AGAIN but faster and louder as if to hurry me up and at that point I snapped and told her " I hear you I'm just thinking". I found this extremely rude to say them 3 times all within 20 seconds and to get louder and faster as if SHE was annoyed. I promise I am not the type to take long to decide, efficiency is my game but she didn't even give me 5 seconds each time to decide. What made this worse is she could hear in my tone when I responded I was getting irritated and then says "sorry" while smiling and gave a little laugh which was obvious it wasn't sincere. We step to the side to wait and then shortly after she asks again what meat my boyfriend got, which both of ours was sausage. Moving on to the payment we pay and then she stops the cashier and tells them she forgot to charge for the extra cream cheese and then pulls out one of the bagels and I ask her if she even put the cream cheese in there and she didn't. They have to cancel and reput the order which was the cherry on top. Overall it seems like she doesn't take her job seriously and isn't present with customers. She spent so much time annoyingly repeating the meats 3 times to me she couldn't even remember what my boyfriend ordered. This was a very unfortunate visit for our first time and we won't be back. To management: Please train your staff on customer service or at least hire people who would appreciate their job and treat it with pride. Decided to stop by here since it is close by and was craving a breakfast sandwich. I was thrown off immediately by the lack of acknowledgement as I walked in, after a few minutes I was scolded into ordering with a gentleman behind the bagel counter. I did and continued to wait alongside a few others. I sat down to do some work on my computer, when I was prompted to pay and receive my order I was immediately thrown off by the amount. I ordered an $8 breakfast sandwich and a $6 coffee. My total was $18... after I questioned the amount she rapidly spewed numbers that still didnt add up and said she had to up charge my croissant. Whatever, didn't argue and paid. What really threw me off was that as I sat down to enjoy my food I had to smash and kill some little flying bug over my sandwich, I ended up walking out and leaving when I felt ants crawl on my body and all over my food. Not only was service questionable but clearly cleanliness is not up to standard if it allows for a variety of critters to be roaming around the place. My go to is the turkey sandwich on the jalepano bagel which is always toasted to perfection. The staff, a husband and wife, are incredibly friendly and attentive to any customers needs. First time here, wanted to try a different place. Yuk. The server struggled to remember our two bagel sandwich orders and then we had to repeat it all to the lady. The whole wheat bagel was soft and disappointing. It was late morning and several flavors were sold out. Didn't care for American cheese on the bland sandwich. My partner wasn't thrilled with his sandwich, either. We had to wait a bit to pay the cashier. Love this little bagel spot. I've stopped in a few times on my way to work. It's run by an older couple who really take their time in making sure your bagel sandwiches are just as picturesque as ones you see on ads. I'm a sucker for a jalapeño cheese bagel. They definitely don't skimp out on the cheese. I love how a lot of the cheese falls in between the bagel hole so it's extra cheesy when you warm it up. The bagels look gorgeous and all puffed up to perfection! They have a wide variety of classic bagels like cinnamon raisin, whole wheat but also more flavored ones like jalapeño asiago, sundried tomatoes and parmesan bagels. They are all quite big! Prices range from $1.50 for regular and $2 for flavored bagels. The texture is pillowy soft and chewy. The taste is perfect. Not too much flavor but enough if you want to eat it plain. The cinnamon raisin bagel is not too sweet and full of flavor. The honey corn was savory and a tiny bit sweet. Whole wheat was perfect. The star was the sundried tomatoes with mediterranean spices. So good. I love it slightly toasted. They also have a vast selection of different bagel sandwiches which all look very good. And of course hot and cold drinks and snacks. The opening times are 5.30am - 4pm Mon - Sat and 7am - 3pm on Sunday. I will be back for more breakfast bagels soon! read more

The owner is an older gentleman who is clearly is very prideful of his work and it definitely shows! The place is a small cafe off El Camino and it gives mom and pop deli kind of vibes! 10/10 would recommend :) The lox schmear is perfect for when you want a lox bagel but the thought of that much food in the morning is daunting! My wife and I stumbled across this bagel spot a few months ago. We normally use Yelp to find new food spots, and to be honest - given the reviews and the photos that I am seeing of this place, we would have never set foot in this store if we came across their Yelp page first. Ever since our first visit, we have come back 8-10 times and have consistently had a great experience: - The staff here are wonderful. They are extremely friendly and personable, and we always feel very "invited" into their store. It seems like a lot of other reviewers had an issue with a younger guy who used to work here...I don't believe he is here anymore. - The bagels and schmears are GREAT. The bagels themselves strike a good balance of texture and flavor, and the bagels always feel very fresh. - They have a pretty good variety and are usually in stock of everything. I know another Yelper was complaining that they were out of a lot of bagels at lunch time. This wasn't the case for me a few weeks ago, but I wouldn't blame them if their inventory was low since...you know...not a lot of people order bagels at lunch. But ok. Easily the best bagels we've had in the Mountain View/Palo Alto area. Would highly recommend this place! read more
