Love their bagel sandwiches. Wish the service could improve. Calling your order in is a nightmare. I have better luck going in and ordering.

First time I ever went here cause I got a coffee and this place was right next to Dunkin donuts. Got an everything bagel with chicken salad. Not only was it $6, which is pretty pricey for a chicken salad, but it was the worst bagel I've ever had in my life. It looked like there was mold growing on the chicken salad. After eating less than half, I let it sit for about 45 minutes and the chicken salad turned yellow in color. Extremely low quality, you can tell none of their items are fresh. I never write reviews on yelp, but this place was so bad I downloaded the app and felt I had to. I promise I'll never go back here again. Bagels are really good but overshadowed by the poor, rude and impolite service. All the workers have an attitude, from the people that take the orders to the person that is in the registers. Young or mature, They ALL have a real serious negative attitude. Every Time my husband and I go we notice there is always someone getting in a discussion with one of them. Conveniently the closest bagel place to my house, so i had to try it. bagels were good; fresh and big. The service was ok, quick, kinda rushed. Place is small, not really a place you'd wanna sit down and eat; more of a take out. Prices are also kinda expensive for your normal breakfast meals. -Don't take this as a bad review, it is an average place. Ever since they're under new ownership, every time i come here my order is wrong in some way. Previous times, My bagel was completely wrong. Another time i ordered a chicken Cesar wrap, and they threw grilled chicken on a wrap no lettuce no Cesar dressing. This time, i ordered a bagel with butter and it came with cream cheese. Average sized bagel place in a strip mall across the street from the High School. Everything about Bagel Stop is pretty mediocre and average. It is not the best bagel you will ever have, but you wont be disappointed. Price is average. Service is average. There are better bagel joints in Wayne that I would go to. However there isn't one within a couple miles. Therefore this is purely a convenience stop for me. read more

I can't believe how this place has changed over the past 15 years. I used to be a regular but my commute changed. Now I sometimes pass by so I have tried 2 times and just can't ever go back. There's NO MENU DISPLAYED! That's a big red flag for a deli. No clue what prices are until you pay. Today I was one of 2 people at 8am initially. Placed an order for a double egg and cheese on a roll then went next door for coffee like several others were doing. I go back to the bagel shop and one by one people who ordered after me are getting their orders. I asked about mine and they must have forgotten about it. It also seemed like they didn't know what "double" egg meant and kept asking me to repeat my order. I finally get my sandwich and it was not even good. The cheese looked and tasted like Kraft singles, the eggs had an odd smell and taste, only decent thing was the roll. $4.50 by the way. Slightly more than average. read more

Okay, first off I'm biased. I'm from Maryland, we don't have good bagels. Sure maybe if you're from Jersey you could argue Bagel Stop doesn't have good "Jersey bagels" but my god they satisfy my fix. The service is absolutely shotty but given I'm usually either drunk, hungover, or running on negative sleep I find it endlessly entertaining, whether it be the terrifying little woman who works the cash register or the blazed out of his mind guy taking orders. Overall I've never been disappointed with what comes out of the back kitchen, they never cheat you on cream cheese, their lox are to die for, and the taylor ham could bring my obese grandma back from the dead for a bite. read more

After new ownership I have been there 5 times. Twice they lost my order so it was 20 minutes to get my bagel. Once they didn't toast it when I ask for that. Twice it was what I asked for. I have lived in this area for over 11 Years. I stop in very often. & the reason I stop.. is ONLY.. because it's Convenient to my location, however this last trip in might of been my last. The Bagels are WAY WAY UNDER COOKED. They looked white in color. & are heavy & dense. Bagels are supposed to be Cooked with a nice toasted outer shell & moist on the inside. That being said, It has seemed they have switched hands in Ownership. This is a Guess cause I do see new faces. The set up has changed. Thats Good... Whenever I come in I feel so welcomed by the older lady working the counter and making the bagels. For a while this place felt like it just fell apart but they all really stepped up their game and for the past 3 months they haven't messed up anything for me and take their time with everything. They listen to all my instructions as to what I want on my bagel and always do what the customer asks. I have been coming here for years since I was little and I will no longer be giving them my service. It used to be amazing. The sandwiches were perfect ! The past few years everything has been going downhill and my last visit was the last for sure ! Jersey is known for their Taylor ham and cheese sandwiches.. I ask for it well done and they give me burnt Taylor ham and cold cheese...not to mention the sandwich wasn't even cut all the way so when I went to open it, it fell apart. The service inside is terrible. The people working there are so rude and when there's a problem they give you such an attitude. I miss the old bagel stop ! I worked here quite a few years ago. The food was always awesome, but the prices are getting a little steep. Just keep in mind that businesses have to buy product before they sell it, so if their prices go up, you can expect the same to happen to yours. I stop at this bagel store on my way to work fairly regularly because it's convenient. The bagels are ok. The service is beyond bad. I've gotten used to the curt manner but today was over the top! I ordered a mini-bagel with a little butter and a little cream cheese. The "young lady" made me an onion bagel with cream cheese I told her my order was wrong she rolled her eyes, went to make me a new bagel and loudly stated "I guess she thinks it will change the price! Don't listen to these other reviews. When I was younger, Bagel Stop was great. The food tasted great. But in recent years, it's fallen off big time. All their ingredients are cheap America's Choice, and other non name brand stuff. Their food has become so bland. Their prices are also ridiculous for their food quality and it keeps going up. I paid $8.50 for a chicken salad wrap with cheese and they forgot the cheese. And when the cashier told me the price, I commented, "are you're prices going up?" and he printed out an itemized receipt and in a rude way slapped the receipt down and condescendingly said "heres your receipt boss.". He's rude all the time. And their staple food, the bagels and their Taylor ham and cheese is really just not good anymore. This place is a waste of money and it's a shame what theyve done to the place. I definitely will not be coming here again. And that's saying something b/c I live 2 blocks away, and now I need to drive across town for decent sandwiches. read more

I can't disagree more with Kevin R. about the Bagel Stop's service. First of all, the bagels are some of the best in NYC. Forget about Sam's or Bagel O's, they have the most authentic bagels. I think they are owned by the same guy as Sunrise on Berdan. Their hot breakfast sandwiches are to die for. (Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese with Salt Pepper Ketchup is the way to go!!) Prices are dirt cheap and the service is top notch. The people behind the counter always are eager to help a customer. Been going there for years. Only tolerated the staff due to location and convenience but the last straw was broken this morning. They got the order wrong for the millionth time. My sandwich had half an egg on it on one side only. My egg white veggie omelet was brown and the vegetables were burned, the ham I paid for was missing. When I went back to the store to complain, the woman at the register completely ignored me, the woman who took my order replied very snotty asking me in a tone....."well how many eggs do you think are actually on a sandwich". When I asked to speak with the owner, I was told he's not there, when asked for his number, was told I can't have it, when asked for a refund, was told that's not possible. All I had left was for them to remake the order.....when I arrived at home, it was still WRONG.. if I pay for something at the very least, make it correctly and if I inform you its wrong, FIXIT IT.....I will drive out of my way not give them business again and I will ensure to inform all my neighbors who have also complained of the nasty staff and downright terrible service. read more

Absolutely would never go here again. My group placed an order by phone 15 minutes before the store closes. We get there 5 minutes later with the front door closed. We proceeded to knock on the door when an absolutely rude women opened the door. She refused to place our order and slammed the door in our faces!!! What type of customer service is this!!! This place was the first bagel spot I saw on my way to work. Since I woke up craving a bagel, I thought why not! I have never been here before and will never go again! Their prices are wayyyyyyy too much! I also ordered a plain bagel with my omelet but instead got burnt toast. Like burnt burnt toast. Toast that could not even be saved by just scrapping off the burntness. It also took them 30 mins to complete my order which seems a bit ridiculous for eggs and burnt toast. I ordered a simple Taylor ham and cheese on a hard roll. Girl asked if I wanted egg, ketchup or salt and pepper and I said No just Taylor ham and cheese. Got it with egg. Returned it. Remade it with ketchup. No apologies. Just handed me the wrong sandwich Again! And the roll was lousy and I it didn't taste like Taylor ham. Perhaps there's a cheaper brand they serve. Also a very crowded area to sit in - they may want to just consider a counter and one table versus a bunch of chairs and tables that you can't even get into because you can't fit between the chair and the table. This place is good. If you go early in the morning you're more likely to get fresh bagels. I give it a three because many times they mess up and put too little cream cheese or the bagels feel hard and not fresh. When it's fresh it's really good and deserving a 5. The food is adequate but the service is terrible. The employees talk to each other about non-work related items for minutes before they even acknowledge a customer. Also, their prices are completely not up to date. They will advertise items at one price and charge you a higher price. When questioned, they will not honor their advertised price. read more
