Most disgusting egg sandwich I have ever had. Place was less than busy on a weekday morning. (That alone should've warned me.) With only 2 customers in front of me, I still waited 10 minutes to place my breakfast order. Eggs tasted like they came out of a carton and the toast had a funny cardboard taste and smell. I was extremely disappointed of the lack of professionalism demonstrated by the manager, Max, of the Jericho location. His employee, Robert, was rude and disruptive and condescending to another employee who happened to be new, in front of customers. Max, who had not been on the premise at the time of the outburst, immediately took the other employee's position and did nothing to reprimand his senior employee, Robert. I have been coming to this location for quite a while and was extremely impressed with the customer service and attentiveness of the new employee which I believe told me his name was Larry. I didn't realize it was a kosher deli so when they told me they don't sell bacon I was puzzled, but tried their version of bacon & it was decent. Typically I go for tuna salad on a sesame bagel, although I do switch it up and sometimes get everything bagels, and sometimes flagels. I love bagels...to the extent that I had to give them up about 2 years ago because I noticed I was eating one every day and carbs aren't my friends like that. These bagels were great. Sesame with scallion is always my order at a genuine bagel shop and this one did not disappoint at all. It was quite delicious. BUT - what threw me over the edge was the day my bagel was right out of the oven, still hot and the cream cheese had melted into it. Holy crap that was amazing. Plenty of food choices in this retail strip. So my mom and I choose the bagel place. I ordered a classic tuna salad bagel (poppy seed bagel) sandwich combo. I chose potato salad as my side and coffee for my beverage; the combo included a kosher pickle. My mom chose a egg white / spinach tuna salad bagel sandwich combo. Lots of varieties of tuna salads in the deli case. She chose coleslaw as her side and coffee as her beverage. The food here is very good; I would say better than Goldberg's (Atlanta Jewish Deli). I love bagels and could eat them everyday. My favorite is the egg everything. At this location I did find it a little lacking in flavor. I know there's supposed to be more 'things' on it - some salt if nothing else. But it's fine. The guy gave me lots of cream cheese when I asked for it. Yum. And he answered my questions nicely enough when I wanted coffee. I wanted to make sure I got regular and not decaf. So I had a decent experience here but I still much prefer hand rolled bagels in new Hyde park. I'm only here cause I'm waiting for my dog at the vet. My best friends mom passed away and her niece placed the order with Bagel Boss for 75 people. It came to $1,700. They did not give her the right advice on what to order. They should have guided her as to what they felt we needed. There was way to many bagels and nowhere near enough plain cream cheese for even the amt of bagels consumed. 3 trays of under ripe green tomatoes, It takes a very special knack of letting 3 trays of not ripe tomatoes be delivered in Aug in NY. The water melon was white, only 1 tray of cookies. Not enough salads, and certainly nowhere near enough lox. For $1,700 everything should have been great, not shameful. This is something they do regularly, and should have it down to a science by now. I would NEVER recommend THIS Bagel Boss to anyone for catering. Those involved with ordering were embarrassed at what we received, especially since we did not pay bargain store prices. read more
