Bagel Bob's is reliable in terms of being ready on time (when ordering ahead) and having a variety of options for picky eaters. There seems to be a lot of conflicting reviews about the bagels. I'd say they're pretty average for NY bagels, but that is also to say, they're better than overall average! I like getting egg and bacon on a bagel. I wish there was a bit more space toward the counter. It can get a little crowded when people are waiting for orders.

A hot breakfast sandwich on a New York bagel on a cold winter day. May have been the best breakfast sandwich I ever ate. It was my first New York bagel this way and it hit a home run! I wish I had the stomach, time and money to eat four more! They also had some cream cheese flavors I never knew ever existed. If near by for any reason this is a must stop.

Bagels, bagels and more bagels. Visiting NY infrequently I have to have my bagels. Bob's offers a great selection of bagels and sides all fresh and ready to go. Being able to sit and enjoy a fresh bagel sandwich is one of life's small pleasures. Staff is typical NY attitude so if you're expecting unicorns and rainbows move on.

I miss New York bagels! They were so good! I ordered the classic cream cheese with lox, onion and tomato, and the guy helping me recommended capers as well. Nice touch. They have a huge assortment of different flavored cream cheeses and salads. A small sitting area if you want to eat there. Food was delicious I would highly recommend!

Bagel Bob's disappointed me for the second time. The bagel was like rubber and the new Cheddar Cream Cheese was tasty but I ended up grossed out by something I started chewing that didn't taste like bacon. I spit it out! The employees are quick to take your order but don't smile or make me feel valued as a customer. Just a routine for the employees. When I heard the price of $6.80 I knew I would not be returning! They are getting one star because they had employees constantly cleaning up the tables and the coffee counter section. I'm going to have to be desperate for a bagel and no place else open in all of Manhattan before I return! We have too many much MUCH better bagel shops on the Upper East Side!

A good, but not great, bagel and whitefish salad. But a fabulous black and white cookie! The garlic bagel only had a light sprinkling of garlic - I want one that's so heavily coated the roof of my mouth gets ripped up. The whitefish salad was good but a bit too salty for my taste, and my friend's lox spread didn't have enough lox in it. The bagel was a little too sweet, almost malty, and kind of little. I'm not sure id try this place again.

The bagels

Service as always not the nicest but the bagels make up for it. This time they messed up a little too much. My order was simple, 4 cinnamon raisin and 2 poppy bagels in separate bags. I get home and I have 2 cinnamon raisin and 4 everything bagels. I work in the city and live North of the city so returning them isn't an option especially on the weekend. I called and they asked me to return the bagels instead of just saying we replace them on your next visit c'mon man, I won't be in that area for at least a week.

Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on everything bagel

I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese on an everything bagel. It was $7.89. The toppings were good, but the everything bagel didn't have much flavor. The service was fine, and it didn't take long to get my order.

Bacon egg and cheese. How sad is this.

Oh my goodness, Bob's Bagel used to be amazing. Have gone there for years. They have changed for the worse. Quality is gone. Look at the picture I took of the bacon egg and cheese. It's criminal to sell this to us! Bring Dennis back!!

The best tuna and freshest bagels I've had in the city. Good tuna is a hard find most are so fishy or too wet. Bobs tuna is perfect.

Darjeeling Kitchen & Café - Himalayan Curry: I don't typically like mushrooms but these were divine and the hint of carmelized onions on the Chinese broccoli was great!

I preferred the chicken and my friend preferred the beef. Service was excellent, waiters were very friendly and helpful. They gave us complementary small plates of curry corn (also fantastic) as they had made a bit extra from a catering order. Ambiance was nice and cozy as well.

It's one of the more pleasant spaces to pass an afternoon in what I suppose is now called "Dutch Kills." We were here at an odd hour and so just opted for the masala chai, which was mediocre. But when we opened up our plate of steamed chive momos upon getting home, it was a revelation. These are the best vegetarian (or vegan) momos I've had in the city. They have a mix of shredded tofu which gives an excellent blend of creaminess to the sharp taste of the chives. Truly delicious. The chutneys are also excellent - I liked the dry chili sauce best of all. Next time I will try the oyster mushrooms momos too.

I cannot say I was expecting the food to be this damn good out of a seemingly random Mexican place…read morethat just happened to be near where we were. I hadn't seen Tacos Gobernador on any Mexican restaurant menu before. These are sinaloan-style tacos, stuffed with the fresh shrimp abundant in the region. This is the second time I'm saying this in the first four sentences, but these were amazing. First of all - they were huge! Way larger than normal tacos, these tortillas stretch across the plate. The outsides are perfectly crisped up - these are kind of a mix between a soft & hard shell taco, but incorporating the best of both worlds. The amount of oil used in the grilling is perfect. What really makes these though, is the fillings. The shrimp is unbelievable - first of all, its the largest shrimp I've ever seen inside a taco. I mentioned how large these tacos are, but the shrimp bursts out of the top like a xenomorph out of a chest; there's little containment to be had here. These shrimp are seasoned astoundingly, turning practically a dark red from the spices used. Oh yeah, and the juiciness is just perfect. They are so well cooked. The other outstanding part is the cheese. The Oaxacan cheese is special - it's some of the best cheese I've ever had on a taco. Hot, soft, and stretchy with a perfect level of melting, it adds a crazy amount of flavor to each bite. The other toppings are solid, but some more onions would've helped I think. Also, the dipping sauce used is around average, and unnecessary. This was kind of expensive for 3 tacos - coming in at $25 before tax and tip. It was a ton of food though. Overall, a new variation of taco I think I'm absolutely in love with. 9.25/10

It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

The cafe was awesome, the food looked delicious the service was fast. The workers were extremely friendly, it was a great experience. I got the strawberry dragon it was absolutely fantastic and so so delicious. I have recently started getting into matcha and the drink had matcha with like strawberries in it. My first ever experience with a matcha strawberry combination. I'm definitely going to go to progreso cafe very soon again. I'm definitely going to try out more of the pastries. On top of pastries looking so good I'm also very curious about the meat buns. They have so many choices in progreso and I can't wait to try everything. All the drinks look so so good but Im definitely happy I got the strawberry dragon as my first but it won't be my last. If you like cafe pastries and meats buns please go and support progreso. For the people who will have a hard time finding it, it's located inside a market called koufuku market
