I came in here not knowing what to expect. I ordered the jersey special that has pastrami egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheese bagel. The bagel was definitely not what I expected, a slice of American cheese with some jalapeños on top of it, however taste wise it was good, it had a good crunch since it was toasted and the jalapeños were fresh and even though they did not have seeds it was still spicy. I also paired it with a raspberry tea that was very refreshing and helped calm down the spicyness. Bagel bobs has fairly priced bagels as compared to to Einstein bagel bros, so definitely come give them a try and support local !

Pastrami egg and cheese on onion bagel

Happen to be driving by and remembered that I wanted to try this bagel place. Def want to support small businesses. Had a pastrami egg and cheese bagel sandwich. Tasty but didn't blow me away. Took a few other bagels home - no flavor with the cinnamon raisin one. If in neighborhood, give them a try.

I have been wanting to try this place out and finally got the chance after popping by Awty. I got the everything bagel with salmon. First of all it was an overwhelming amount of cream cheese and the bagels were too hard. Made me sad because I've really been looking for an awesome bagel place. Everyone inside was very nice. Parking is behind as in not where the patio is. Maybe I'll try something else the next time but it didn't blow my mind.

Finally had the opportunity to try the Famous Bagel Bobs! I noticed a lot of reviews on customer service not being the best here, and they were right! I ordered an everything bagel turkey club with avocado, except the woman at the front almost gave me an "all the way plain bagel"? And forgot my avocado. The only reason she didn't get my bagel wrong is right before she started assembling my club, she asked me again, "You want an all the way plain bagel, right?" M'am, I said, "Can I get an everything bagel turkey club with avocado" Where did you hear plain bagel? Don't say "got it" when you clearly don't got it. And my avocado was still forgotten Bagels are good, but to drive out there from my area to get a simple order wrong killed my motivation to come back here. If you live in the area, the convenience is great! There's definitely a sense of community here, which is nice, but Customer service needs work on On another note, it was nice that they had bread for $1.00. You can get a great deal on bagels and other breads.

It's good, but not drive 35 minutes good. Service was great, truly. And to be fair, it was almost 11 by the time I got there, so naturally all the best flavors were already sold out. The space is tiny and cozy, and it's tucked in an industrial office looking area, so I was definitely confused when I pulled up. But once you're inside, it's cute and welcoming. Food was good. Service was good. Not much to complain about, just not something I'd travel across the city for again unless I was already in the area. Overall, worth trying at least once

Ham, egg, cheese on everything bagel

These bagels are wonderful. The crust is slightly crisp, inside not too chewy and dense. I got a ham, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It tasted so good and was filling. It only a few minutes until my order was ready. There's lots of parking outside and inside was clean and cute with nyc signs on the walls. There's so many bagels and cream cheese to choose from. I will love to return.

Passed by Post Oak and stopped by for a cheese and steak bagel for breakfast. Pluses 1. Plenty of parking 2. Plenty of bagels and smears 3. Indoor seating 4. Calm music 5. Cheese egg and steak bagel so chewy just like in Brooklyn in a bite, brings back great memories 6. Friendly and efficient service Areas to improve Nothing - wish I could find me some biali tho. Highly recommended!

Seriously? Delicious is all I got!! We got our bagels right out of the oven. So hot you could not touch them. And the bagels melted in your mouth! One of the best bagels I have had in a long long time!! The staff is so cute and nice and it's clean! And We met Bob! He is so cute! Fabulous bagels!!!! Worth the drive to hunt them down!

    Burned bagel

To try Bob's for the first time, I picked up a bag of bagels, but when I got home, most were like the one on the left: overcooked, basically burned. Are they supposed to look like pretzels? Only two out of five were done correctly, like the one on the right. At Central Market, they usually sneak a few of the "burned" bagels into their bags of 6, to get rid of them. No one is fooled by this sort of thing. This does not happen at the Hot Bagel Shop on Shepherd. A disappointing first visit to BagelBob's.

Has the same energy and most similar flavor to a NYC bagel shop that I've had in Houston so far! Line on a Saturday morning was out the door but the line moved pretty quickly. Seating is a bit competitive and cramped, but turnover is pretty fast and I feel like it adds to the energy. In addition to the bagels, they've got some good looking pastries including enormous black and white cookies and fluffy cheesecake. Looked like they also had freshly squeezed lemonades and fruit juices which looked good. Bon Orzo, the owner, was in the middle of the action behind the counte coordinating everything and handing out a few orders at the tables while we were there. Seeing a framed newspaper listing of his bagel shop in NYC made me feel like this was going to the a legit spot, andi wasn't disappointed. Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a bagel snob and have around 3-4 bagels each time I'm in NYC (around 2X per year). We got a lox sandwhich with sesame bagel and scallion cream cheese, and a sesame bagel with plain cream cheese. Sesame bagel itself was the highlight and had a good textured chew/bite to it with some fluffiness in the center, similar to a NYC bagel, though slightly drier and less "stretchy" (ifykyk). Cream cheese had good flavor and felt fresh, but felt more buttery than creamy and fluffy which is what I prefer, and it felt like it diluted the flavor a little bit (like 1/2 intensity of flavor?). Salmon was great, and especially at a price point of $12 with a good portion (compared to $20+ in NYC), I can complain here though I would say it doesn't have as much depth and flavor. Even so, It's definitely the closest I've had to a NYC bagel (Russ and daughters, Essa bagel) in Houston so far so I will be coming back for more.

Turkey sausage, egg and cheese bagel on Asiago
    Alexandra P.

When a friend from New Jersey recommended this spot, I knew I had to try it. I came by a few weeks ago around 11am on a Saturday, and there was already a line wrapped around the building. I didn't let that stop me and thankfully, it moved pretty quickly! The inside isn't anything fancy, but I trusted the process. After placing my order, I only waited about 5 minutes before both of my bagels were ready. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese, and a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese. I originally wanted them on jalapeño cheese bagels, but they were sold out :( The cashier suggested asiago instead and WOWWWW it was a great call. Both bagels were seriously good, but the turkey sausage was hands-down the winner. I'm not super familiar with the East Coast bagel scene, but this definitely had a different (and better) taste than anything else I've tried around here.

Blueberry bagel with a chunk of strawberry and a random oat.

3/3 orders wrong. Now a busy morning I understand the hussle of trying to get these bagels out. Second time perhaps they heard the wrong thing ? However this is the THIRD time they've gotten it wrong. From the wrong bagel to the wrong cream cheese, I honestly don't feel it should be that hard to do at 10am on a Thursday. Went in for a blueberry bagel and plain cream cheese, got home with blueberry and strawberry cream cheese. Now you'd think I'd learn my lesson of checking before leaving however I'm not sure I'll be back.

    Counter, menu, some friendly staff.

Banger bagels at Bob's. I kept reading stories about the owner being from NY, then I read an account of him chasing down someone in the parking lot with a New York license plate to let them know about his shop. Seems to take great pride in his work. And with good reason. The bagels really are great here. Chewy exterior and fluffy insides. I normally frequent Hot Bagel as it's close to me, but this place seemed to provide more bang for the buck. Haven't had anything that didn't wow me as of yet!

From Nelson to Kelsey, Chloe, to the waitstaff, including but not limited to Erica, Sara, and Elizabeth, and, of course, the wonderful reception hostess, the fantastic Jessica, make it a pleasure to dine at this restaurant. They give it that hometown atmosphere within the vast city of Houston. The ambiance is adequate. There is consensus that eliminating the second door leading to the dining area is a mistake. An attempt to expand the waiting area makes sense. Still, a line forms of patrons wanting to partake of the restaurant's delicious food, which causes congestion on the bakery side of that excellent restaurant. Perhaps expanding into what used to be Mark's One Hour photography would have been a better idea for the sake of the patrons' comfort and convenience. Moreover, the cashier's area is poorly designed and uncomfortable. The interaction between the cashier and the greeter is also missed, even though a line would also formed there. The food is just that delicious, folks! Conversely, the attempt to make things run more efficiently by having the wait staff accept payment via a computerized mechanism at the patron's table is understood. Still, this is minor in comparison to the delicious food being served there. Nevertheless, from a delicious multiple soup to a full breakfast or lunch entrée, the New York bagel shop receives an A+ in my book. Therefore, take a visit and taste for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy! Lalo De PIlar.

Super selection of all of the REAL bagel flavors (not the boujie flavors - although they do have some of those): plain, onion, garlic, salt, rye, pumpernickel, everything, sesame seed, poppy seed. All of the ones I got (and I got a dozen of a variety of their offerings) were scrumptious. Don't waste your money going anyplace else if you want a true bagel. No matter how you eat it (plain, with cream cheese, butter, peanut butter or as a sandwich holder), these bagels are fabulous! Had a nice chat with Josh when I stopped in; it's obvious this place has great employees. Sandwiches are available here too, so stop in for lunch if you're in the area. Otherwise stock up and eat one every morning for breakfast. Oh, you can't go wrong with that! Tubs of cream cheese (in many flavors) are also available. Nice little shop that was clean, nicely decorated with a few tables if you aren't heading back on the road. As for the brisket sandwich, I thought it was good in terms of the meat, however, I must say it reminded me of sloppy joes too much. If I had to choose, I prefer getting the brisket sliced over chopped. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh and not too overwhelming with the mayo, which I love. Service is always friendly, the line moves quickly, and each visit is accompanied by the smell of fresh bagels. Jeff's Bagels has specialty limited edition flavors daily with a good selection of everyday options, all of which can be found on the app. There are also multiple schmears, whipped butter, and even some vegan options. A small display case next to the register houses some additional desserts. There is an extensive coffee menu as well. Bagels: The texture is spot on. These bagels offer just the right amount of chew without being leathery, yet are still light and soft on the inside. The boiled skin is just the right thickness somehow, and even with the slight denseness of the dough, it springs back without staying compressed. I've tried the plain, cinnamon raisin, rosemary salt, everything, blueberry bagels and they've all had excellent texture. I would've preferred slightly more cinnamon and raisin on the cinnamon raisin, a touch less salt on the rosemary salt, and perhaps a little more blueberry on the blueberry, but those are likely just personal preferences. Schmears: I appreciate the variety of options Jeff's offers. I'm a plain cream cheese kinda person, but I've tried the vegan plain, maple brown sugar, cookies n cream, whipped butter, whipped butter cinnamon honey. The whipped butter varieties are very creamy, and overall the flavored ones tend to be on the sweeter side. The only one I actively didn't like was the vegan cream cheese; it was too salty and had a strange aftertaste, though the texture was pretty good for vegan cream cheese. My only gripe is the vendetta against toasting. I've been in multiple times when customers have inquired whether they're able to get their bagels toasted, and the response has always been "we don't toast our bagels because they're fresh and boiled." These bagels are delicious on their own, but I love freshly toasted bagels even if they're newly baked.

My husband also agreed. He said we will never go to Einstein again. It'll be worth the 90 min drive for us. Scott and James are friendly. James let us sample a few of the spreads before we committed to a few. Try the banana pudding spread. I don't even like banana pudding but it was fantastic. I also LOVED the cookies and cream spread. My hubby had the jalapeño spread. He loved it. The bagels, the spreads, and the customer service is exceptional. James is an asset and Scott is also great. I hope JEFF appreciated them bc they are really great. We will be back!
