Counter service with a few tables. Really solid bagel & sandwich place. Biggest complaint is it can be hard to park, gets crowded at peak times, and they sometimes run out of your favorites. These are issues because they are popular. Eggs on the breakfast sandwiches tend to be cooked soft, so order it cooks hard if you don't like runny eggs. Herb cream cheese is really tasty, and I don't normally like cream cheese. On weekends there are some Indian options, that's good stuff too. read more

Went to the shop for the first time today. Went out of my way thinking I really wanted a good bagel. Asked for a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Tons of employees standing around no waiting. Ordered a coffee which apparently was self serve. Walked in and was sort of trying to figure it out and said something like oh OK I have to do this myself and the owner completely ignored me. Didn't feel friendly at all. Grabbed my bagel when it was done and got in the car and it wasn't toasted. I mean I'm glad it was warm and fresh but how hard is it to toast and I waited and there wasn't a line. I don't know the vibe was not very friendly ends I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. This store employs the entitled millenial children of the upper middle class. They care little about the customer and their orders, because their pay is just going to buy more ironic T-shirts. The floor layout is badly organized. People stand around unsure if they are in line or not, and the employees call people out of order. When you are truly in a rush and need to get food and get out - and called in your order ahead of time - it is incredibly frustrating to wait for some spoiled kid to hold up the line trying to decide if they want an onion bagel or plain. The store does make the effort of having their staff walk out from behind the counter and give you your order. This is an effort, but it is a mistake. It slows down service and it fixes a nonproblem. Getting your order is not an issue - the problem is that ordering is slow, and the line is ambiguous, and people are in a rush. A rope barrier that simply says "order from here" is all you need to simplify things and ensure that everyone gets their order in. And for heaven's sake if the girl at the register doesnt know how to use the register, replace her when there is a crowd. No one has time for children to giggle at the register, even when the resulting mistakes result in a surprise discount. Those employees don't care about your order. Bagel egg and cheese? Here's a kaiser roll with butter. 6 dollar Lox and cream cheese? one slice of fish. It's hilarious to think that these spoiled yuppie larvae probably plan to go to college in NYC and live in a 2000 sqft prewar townhouse with a doorman and "charm", but they dont even know what a New York staple looks like. FYI: a lox bagel should have a quarter pound of smoked salmon, it should have cream cheese, onions, and capers, and it should cost 10 dollars. And be worth eating. Contrary to other reviews, the toroidal bread that this company sells is not the "closest thing ... to NY style bagels". They are the closest thing to frozen bagels. If you want something closer, go to ANY grocery store in the area and get the loose bagels from the bakery. Those are real bagels. You need to get them early in the morning, or they will be rock hard, because the grocery store makes real bagels early in the morning. Unfortunately, they dont make them throughout the day. But that's the real deal. Their hoagies are overpriced and poor, also. You can buy a better hoagie, with better toppings and a greater selection at Goosey Gander for 3 dollars less. read more

This establishment has frustrated me to the point where I finally had to find a forum to voice it (besides directly at the management). I have three words to describe their service: unorganized, untimely, and unfriendly. They have given me the wrong order three times in a row. I don't t believe it to be that hard to make a bagel with cream cheese. Their customer service is appalling. On several occassions I have been met with grunts at the register. Today, I stared in shock as a woman leaned over the counter and whistled at the customer while waving a sandwich at him. The last straw came when my sister waited over 15 minutes to be handed the wrong sanwich. There are 6 people working behind the counter so they are in no way understaffed. Of course, it took them less than 3 minutes to fix the order. It truly is a shame since their only saving grace is the food. I have tried to remain loyal yet constantly being met with poor service has left a bad taste in my mouth. My advice? Enter at your own risk. read more

Very not impressed. 10:30 on a Sunday and they were out of 2/3 of their bagel choices. I had to settle with a plain because there were no sweet flavors left. I've gone to bagel basket for years but might reconsider in these times of pandemic. I was there today and the cashier and the person running the meat slicer were both wearing masks just covering their mouths. I am a health care worker and wear n95 masks all day long and realize mask wearing is a pain but there seems to be a disregard here. read more

Don't come here if you're looking for a cheap breakfast sandwich... I came in today after a few months away very excited to come to a favorite spot of mine. Unfortunately, a simple bacon egg and cheese on wheat bread ( with the exception of egg whites ) ran me almost $8.00 which I find absolutely ridiculous. College students and many locals look to Bagel Basket as a staple within the area, however, I assure if their prices keep rising or remain as they are now many will not be returning including myself. I withheld ordering anything else because of this audacious price, and realistically I can't think of any reason why it's so expensive. On the brighter side, the sandwich was great as usual. I really hope this problem gets fixed because I love advocating for this place and I have done so many times in the past. read more

When they get your order right it's good. But most of the time it's a mess. I always call my order in 20 minutes before getting there and I always end up waiting another 20 minutes AFTER I get there. And the one time I only ordered 2 bagels. Another time I thought I would try their lunch, that was interesting. I ordered a cheeseburger but I ended up getting a sausage patty with cheese on a roll, at 2pm. The service is always slow and rude. read more

I tried this place a long time ago and wasn't impressed. But, feeling a bit generous and craving a bagel, I gave it another try this morning. It's a cute looking place, rather poorly lit, lots of handcrafted signage, anemic looking loaves of bread sitting around. So, I'd give it 2 stars for ambience. As for customer service, I'd give it two stars. While the young woman who waited on me was slow but pleasant there was another who was shockingly surly. She downright slid the other customer's sandwich across the counter with a rather ho-hum "here you go" after he'd been waiting for quite a while. The everything bagel was way too salty for my personal preference, although the cream cheese and toasting were lovely. I kind of freaked when the clerk took my money then began to pick out the bagel without washing her hands. I had one of the best roast beef sandwiches i've ever had here. The Boar's Head meat was piled high on my jalapeno cheddar bagel with some vegetables and a delicious sandwich dressing. Everything we had was so good - a chicken Caesar wrap, the chicken salad, and a #10 on an everything bagel which was prosciutto and mozzarella. Do not I repeat, do not come here during the school school year after 9 am. They are clearly not staffed for the volume of incoming online orders and walk ins. I love their bagels and it's my go to place in the valley but it is painful to wait 30 mins for a bagel if you don't call ahead. Meanwhile staff is so busy they are forgetting to wear gloves and wash their hands. All while the manager just stands around and doesn't help as they struggle. read more

I go to the Bagel Basket at least once a week for either breakfast or lunch. From their homemade croissants and bagels to the variety of salads and sandwiches, every meal I have had is always top notch. There are not many places in the area that offer fresh food rather than frozen or pre made. I ordered a jalapeno cheddar bagel wit egg cheese and Canadian bacon and it was delish better then the place I used to go. When I think of the Lehigh Valley, railroads, colleges, Billy Joel, and steel come to mind. Bagels wouldn't be high on that list. However, it might be time to change that. The bagels at Bagel Market are awesome. In NYC they would be average, but that's pretty high praise for anywhere else. These bagels are nice and big, fluffy, and chewy. Pretty decent overall. Just off of main street Hellertown this bagel places sits. The bagels are good, but are closer to a roll than they are to a typical bagel. Breakfast sandwiches are great though. Service is also fairly good. This was our first time here we are not from area we stopped for coffee loved the selection of coffee flavors and all the extra flavorings the syrups it was like being in a coffee house but you make you own we picked up a half dozen bagels 2 onion 2 garlic 2 cinnamon raisin and a Reese peanut butter cookie and 2 medium coffees $11.37 with tax we ate the cookie on the 1 1/2 hour ride home it was sooo good and we had 1 onion 1 garlic bagel for breakfast the next morning they were delicious not as chewy as other bagels I've had but still very good if we are ever in the neighborhood again we will be stopping back my only problem was when packing the bagels she put them all in the same bag the cinnamon and raisin and they smelled like garlic & onion hope they don't taste like them read more

Do not stop here if you are in a hurry. This has to be the slowest bagel or sandwich shop in the Valley. In the time it takes them to prepare one sandwich, other local establishments like Goosey Gander or Johnny's Bagels could easily service 10-15 customer orders. My boyfriend and I stopped in here once because it was the closest place where I could grab a coffee and bagel on a Sunday afternoon. There were so many things that missed the mark. First of all, the ordering and self-service lacks organization. Nobody served us our bottled drinks and cookie, nor told us to help ourselves, so we had to come to that conclusion on our own. Said cookie was rock hard and I had to break it apart into small pieces. The space is narrow and awkward for a sitting area. The place was run by a bunch of teenagers doing their best but not fully experienced in attentive service. Also, they were out of plastic straws for my iced coffee. How does a coffee shop not sufficiently stock straws?! Thankfully the bagel and coffee tasted decent, however, my boyfriend made the mistake of ordering a burger which was greasy and ended up in the trash. Last of all, I encountered obnoxious Saucon Valley snobs who may or may not have been the owners (if they in fact were, they were still in the wrong if they heard us unhappy customers complaining amongst ourselves and acted uppity rather than concerned to make our bad experience better.)
